[Vol. 4] Chapter 63: Rebellious Minors!
Ifia will never let a gold coin slip through her fingers.
When she returned to the palace to collect the “spoils” after she had already started planning, Amelia reluctantly agreed to send someone to fetch them.
Ifia was more than happy not to make another trip specifically. This time, riding in a carriage, Ifia didn’t sit opposite Amelia. Instead, she unabashedly sat next to her, lifting her hand to hold onto Amelia’s arm, leaning her head on it and closing her eyes to rest.
The intimate contact over these past few days had become second nature. It made Ifia even more clingy. Of course, she still maintained her usual stubbornness, saying it was only a symbol of friendship.
Smelling the sweet fragrance that belonged exclusively to Amelia, Ifia felt content and a bit excited about the upcoming reunion with Saint Tiffany, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time.
During her internship at the church, Ifia didn’t have much contact with the saint. Still, the image of the saint with white ribbon covering her eyes left a lasting impression. Unlike Amelia’s dazzling beauty, Saint Tiffany exuded a sense of holiness and approachable kindness, like a warm sun.
It unconsciously made people want to get closer. Of course, in Ifia’s heart, no one could surpass Amelia. Even though Amelia’s excessively dazzling appearance made her seem a bit like a mischievous demon… well, a demon that sucks people’s energy, and she was close to being sucked dry!
Suddenly, thinking about the intimate contact of these past few days, Ifia’s cheeks turned red, but she forced herself to act as if nothing had happened. Fortunately, she was currently resting with her eyes closed, or she would surely be caught showing signs of embarrassment!
In response to this, Ifia quickly tried to think of something else, attempting to divert her attention. The reason for this visit to Saint Tiffany was due to a recent commission to harvest the Holy Lotus. Initially, Ifia had thought about keeping a flower, but unfortunately, she was allergic to the Holy Lotus.
At first, she didn’t feel anything after picking it, but during a rest in the carriage, she suddenly felt a heavy pressure in her chest and had difficulty breathing. It was very uncomfortable! She didn’t know the cause until Amelia took the Holy Lotus outside the carriage, and Ifia immediately recovered.
So, even if Ifia felt regretful, she had to give up keeping the Holy Lotus. Her life was more important than the dormitory “lamp.”
However, considerate Amelia quickly found a substitute – a black stone that emitted a faint red light. Although it created a ghostly atmosphere, the fantastic part was that by patting the stone, it could turn the light on and off, truly nature’s best gift!
After successfully diverting her attention, Ifia thought about various things for a while. During the slight bumps of the carriage, she unexpectedly started feeling drowsy and eventually fell asleep leaning on Amelia.
After a while, Amelia turned her head and looked at the defenseless Ifia. She gently pinched her soft cheek with her hand. Then, her finger slid down and tapped the side of Ifia’s neck, where there was a mark from the Holy Lotus.
Because Amelia had decided to keep Ifia close, she used a small concealing spell. With less than two days until the Holy Lotus matured, she had chosen to stay with Saint Tiffany in advance, making it convenient to harvest and detach when the time came.
For something that required the warmth of a person’s body, even with the power of light, Amelia didn’t want to linger on Ifia for too long. If it weren’t for the fact that a demon’s touch would cause the Holy Lotus to wither, Amelia wouldn’t seek help from others either.
For this reason, she had sent a demon early on to warn Taroumati to keep her tail in check.
The naturally lascivious snake demon always seems to be in heat anytime, anywhere…
Amelia, who had a momentary lapse of thought, instantly darkened her face. When it crossed her mind, she decided it would be better to kick Taroumati away after this and let her come back in a few days!
Amelia silently made plans in her mind while Ifia, who was sleeping with her arms crossed, was not being obedient. She slowly loosened her hands, almost stumbling, and Amelia quickly reached out to catch her.
After some thought, Amelia pulled Ifia into her embrace to make her more comfortable while sleeping.
During the time of nurturing the Holy Lotus within her, she couldn’t provide the demonic soul’s power. So, Ifia had been feeling fatigued these days, although it wasn’t very noticeable when she had something to do.
Thinking about Ifia’s seduction plan, Amelia chuckled and shook her head.
Ifia always managed to bring various surprises to her.
……
Having slept comfortably in Amelia’s arms all the way, when they got off the carriage, Ifia felt a bit unsatisfied, thinking about going back to continue lying down!
Because the carriage bore the emblem of the Barlen family, even driving directly into the church didn’t face any obstruction. The journey was smooth all the way to the residence of Saint Tiffany.
“Amelia, does Saint Tiffany live here?”
Ifia looked up at the residence in front of her. It wasn’t that it was bad, the two-story white house had vines climbing its outer walls, adorned with large pink flowers that were currently in full bloom, making it very beautiful.
However, the location was too remote, with only this house in the vicinity. Considering Saint Tiffany’s visual impairment, living alone here seemed impractical.
Upon hearing Ifia’s question, Amelia looked up. The last time she came, the place had been desolate and dilapidated from long disuse. In just a few days, it had undergone remarkable changes.
Not to mention the pink flowers climbing the outer walls were not ordinary plants but enchanting dreamweeds, a valuable magical plant capable of confusing supernatural beings.
It seemed Taroumati was quite satisfied with Saint Tiffany, putting effort into bringing these plants to prevent attracted demons from approaching her. Moreover, she didn’t just arrange the plants carelessly, did she try to impress the Saint?
“The Saint is quite unique, living in seclusion is normal for her. Go ahead and ring the doorbell!”
Amelia wasn’t particularly interested in others’ emotions, so she only glanced at it before turning her attention away. She then patted Ifia’s back, signaling her to take action.
Ifia nodded, took a few steps forward, and reached out to press the doorbell. Soon, the door opened, and they finally saw the Saint.
“Nice to see you again, Ifia.”
After some time apart, Saint Tiffany remained as usual, exuding a divine aura not befitting an ordinary person.
A pair of eyes were covered by a green ribbon, revealing only a high bridge of the nose and slightly pale lips.
Saint Tiffany wasn’t surprised by Ifia’s arrival. Instead, she showed a gentle smile, very welcoming.
However, this sudden warmth left Ifia feeling somewhat overwhelmed, as if the saint’s smile had an overpowering effect. It gave her an impulse to kneel in reverence, as if in front of a sacred statue.
“Saint, hello!”
Fortunately, Amelia arrived just in time. She gently raised her hand and placed it on Ifia’s waist, providing a sense of security with the gesture, causing Ifia to quietly exhale.
In front of Saint Tiffany, there was always a feeling of being constrained and uncomfortable. Fortunately, she had Amelia, who she could hide behind.
In contrast to Ifia’s uneasiness, Amelia’s expression remained indifferent. Instead of greeting, she brought up another topic, “What about the one taking care of you?”
Driven by Amelia’s personal motives, she didn’t want Taroumati to appear. Hence, she didn’t mention Taroumati’s name, only referring to her as the caretaker.
However, the saint’s response was somewhat unexpected.
“She ran away from home.”
“……”
Although somewhat unexpected, Amelia also had no desire to meet Taroumati, so she didn’t inquire further. It was Ifia who observed curiously, silently thinking that this caretaker seemed to have quite the personality.
To run away from home?
Hehe, a rebellious minor, perhaps!
Just as Ifia was entertaining such thoughts, a somewhat familiar voice sounded not far away, tinged with a hint of urgency and frustration.
“Tiffany Peylo, you heartless woman! I didn’t run away from home! I was so angry with you that I went out to drink to drown my sorrows!”
