A Sweet Girl Won't Be Fooled By The Villainess - [Vol. 5] Chapter 51
[Vol. 5] Chapter 51: Sunbathing
Since Ifia woke up, she entered a state of recovery.
In addition to one leg being wrapped in bandages, she had to stay in bed and couldn’t leave the bedroom. Going outside was completely prohibited.
Moreover, even Jessica, Lucy, and others who came to visit were turned away by Amelia, citing it as too noisy and disturbing for recovery.
Ifia: ……
This recovery state was quite different from what she had imagined.
Even meals had turned into soups and broths, thanks to the chef hired by Amelia, who, besides making bread and sweet soups every day, had now surprisingly learned how to cook rice porridge, millet porridge, and various bean porridges.
And now, even chicken soup was on the menu! But there was a culinary barrier between Eastern and Western cuisines. When Ifia tasted the fishy chicken soup, her expression became complicated, and she couldn’t bring herself to say it was delicious, even if she lied through her teeth.
“It’s well made, but please don’t make it again next time.”
After a series of struggles, Amelia finally gave permission, relieving Ifia from the strange soups. Normal meals were back on the menu. However, as food returned to normal, Ifia began to protest. She didn’t want to stay in the room all the time.
“Mushrooms grown in confinement!”
It’s not that Ifia wants to go out and play despite being injured, but rather she wants to try and see if she can speed up her recovery by basking in the sunshine at the swing in the backyard.
“Amelia, just agree with me. It’s so boring to stay in the bedroom every day.”
“Ifia, didn’t you like those novels and biographies before? You can take advantage of this time to read more.”
When Ifia pitifully attempted to persuade Amelia to change her mind, Amelia smiled and directly refused, prompting Ifia to shamelessly roll on the bed.
Carefully ensuring her injured leg didn’t suffer any further harm, Ifia rolled back and forth, her adorable face full of complaints.
“Even if I like them, I can’t read them every day. I need some normal outdoor time!”
She rolled over onto Amelia.
Ifia rubbed Amelia’s chest with a gloomy expression, saying, “You caught that snake a few days ago and didn’t tell me how you handled it. Now you want to keep me shut in…”
Ifia’s expression suddenly became gloomy.
Seeing Ifia’s sulking appearance, Amelia sighed helplessly, unable to harden her heart to continue stopping her.
Perhaps, Ifia, this little cutie, is truly naturally able to defeat her.
But what could Amelia do? Of course, she couldn’t help but obey her beloved.
As for the captured Taroumati…
Amelia’s purple eyes flashed with indifference, not wanting to disclose the details to avoid frightening Ifia.
Sometimes, there are more torturous methods than death.
She wouldn’t let Taroumati die directly.
“You can only stay in the swing in the backyard.”
“Yeah yeah, no problem!”
Ifia thought she would have to persuade for a long time, but unexpectedly, Amelia couldn’t resist her ‘attack’ at all. She quickly discarded her gloomy expression and instead cheered and jumped for joy.
With a ‘Yes, I was just pretending’ appearance, it truly left Amelia at a loss.
However, although Amelia agreed to let Ifia go out to sunbathe, she didn’t let her stay alone. Instead, she held Ifia and lay together in the swing.
Fortunately, the swing was large enough to accommodate the two of them with plenty of space to spare.
From the outside, nothing could be seen inside, and with the maids avoiding it, there was no one to disturb. However, this quietness didn’t last long, and soon the room was filled with lively chatter. This made Ifia’s eyes light up.
( ^v^ )
“Hehe, finally, it’s time for some gossip!”
Last time she stumbled upon the maids gossiping in the villa, but after being interrupted by Jessica, she hadn’t had the chance to eavesdrop. Now, in her recovery, she had the time.
While Ifia’s eyes sparkled with anticipation, Amelia furrowed her brow, clearly wanting to chase the people away.
Ifia quickly reached out to stop her, and to avoid being noticed by others, she swiftly leaned in close to Amelia’s ear and whispered, “Amelia, please, I want to hear the gossip~”
After saying this, Ifia reached out and grabbed onto Amelia’s neck, gently shaking and acting spoiled.
What could Amelia say no to this? She could only reluctantly agree.
In return, Ifia leaned in happily and planted a big kiss on her cheek.
“Hey, have you heard? The Corodi family is deeply in debt and has started selling their shops and other fixed assets, preparing to move out of Darwa City and return to their territory.”
“Huh? Wasn’t the Corodi family quite wealthy? How did they suddenly end up in debt?”
“I know, I know. It’s all because of gambling! Led by the family head, many young members of the family showed off their skills at the casino, but in the end, they got carried away and lost everything.”
“I’ve heard about a lot of similar incidents recently. It’s really unbelievable what these nobles are thinking. They’ve truly lost their minds, squandering all that wealth.”
The gathering place for maids during their free time was indeed a good spot for gossip. And when the Corodi family was mentioned, Amelia’s lips curled up slightly.
Of course, it wasn’t that they had lost their minds.
It was just that they had been possessed by demons.
In order to disrupt the Sith Empire, she had dispatched many demons, all of whom were now rapidly achieving ‘results’ in various noble families.
This was just the beginning.
The situation in Darwa City would become even more chaotic thereafter.
If it hadn’t been for Austin’s earlier suspicion and some minor actions that made Ifia notice something was amiss while accompanying Jessica’s investigation, Amelia’s original plan would have been even faster and more ruthless.
Even if someone noticed something strange, they wouldn’t be able to stop the situation from developing.
However, now, in order to prevent Ifia from noticing again, the plan had to be slightly modified. The pace had to be slowed down a bit.
Coinciding with Ifia’s injury, Amelia also had no inclination to do anything else but to accompany her every day.
When Ifia heard the recent news about Darwa City, although she listened with her ears propped up, her expression was lackluster, clearly uninterested in this gambling gossip.
Ahem, she had heard about a certain noble and his wife’s obsession with the same male servant, and she wanted to know the follow-up! [1]
“Noble gambling isn’t anything special. Do you guys not know? It’s said that someone saw a male ghost in the south of the city, running around naked, shamelessly!”
“Ah?”
“Is it true? Did he really run around naked? Hehehe, I wonder if he’s well-endowed.”
“As for this male ghost, it’s a long story. He was once a servant who gained the affection of a noble and his wife. Both of them wanted his love, but after fighting over him endlessly, they couldn’t come to a conclusion. In the end, they killed the servant, and neither of them got what they wanted…”
Ifia’s regret was quickly filled.
There was actually a follow-up!
However, Amelia beside her remained expressionless, continuing to listen as the conversation took a bold turn.
The maids kept cracking all sorts of dirty jokes.
Looking at Ifia’s excited face, it was obvious she was thoroughly enjoying it.
