Chapter 626: Completely Stunned!

With his mind made up, Chen Huan weighed the stone a couple in his hand before putting it down.

“Handsome, the stone you’re holding is worth 1000 yuan, it’s alright if you want to buy it so you can try it out.” The boss said with a smile, “But if you want to have a good jade out of it, you should take a look at the bigger one.”

As he said that, the boss pointed toward a pile of stones of different sizes, “These came from the old pits. Do you know what the old pits are? They are the place where there’s the most jade. It’s more expensive but it’s easier to yield jade.”

“Last month, I’ve a customer here who came to buy a seventy thousands yuan stone but the stone produced jade worth millions in the end!”

He happily said as if he was the one who made the money.

This was an inherent trick from all merchants.

They would usually talk about the one who made a fortune but never tell you all the others who lost their money.

People always wanted to be the lucky one and would ignore the one who lost.

Besides, those who wanted to be on stone, which of them didn’t want to be rich overnight?

Which of them didn’t want to hear tales of it?

In the end, they would be baited to draw their money out and cleaned up by those merchants.

There was information on top of the stall with the stall’s registered name, ID number and phone number of the owner. They could be reported if there was any fraud.

So the stall’s boss could increase their price but this rarely happened.

All the major trading markets as well as the top brass of the city hoped it would become more prosperous. They absolutely didn’t want a mouse’s shit to ruin the good soup so they severely punished those types of behaviors.

So these things could only happen with temporarily set stalls or those who ran solo without stalls.

So it was relatively safe to buy from a stall and their price was set. Only like that could they do good business.

The tourists that came before and those who were here for business would usually come to the stalls and rarely stopped at those street stalls.

Only tourists without much money but still greedy for cheap stuff would be fooled in those places.

Chen Huan learned those things before he came.

He was only a ‘Jade Master (Beginner)’ and it wasn’t at the advanced or legendary level so how could he be overconfident?

He went to check out the stones advised by the boss and took one at the size of his palm.

The surface of this stone was quite rough and there was no opening so nothing could be seen.

“A piece of inferior quality stone from Mameng, 10% chance of yielding jade.”

The second stone had a crack but there was still no sign of jade on it and he wouldn’t be able to see any even if he flashed light on it.

“A piece of ordinary Jadeite from Malu, 25% of yielding jade.”

The third was darker and was the size of a cantaloupe.

“A medium quality stone from Hpakant, 35% of yielding jade.”

The fourth was the size of a grenadier and was greyish black.

“High quality jadeite from Nanqi, 74% of yielding jade.”

The fifth piece resembled the second one in the fact it felt like a cone and it weighed around 5kg but there was a crack on it that revealed the emerald green inside.

“A high quality Jadeite from Mameng, 81% of yielding jade.”

Chen Huan just looked at five stones and then stopped.

The boss felt amused at his pretentious bearings.

He had seen plenty of people that pretended they were knowledgeable. Those rookies would usually pretend to be experts like that before saying some useless stuff.

They would start to feel confident after some praise and quickly buy those overpriced stones.

“Handsome, which stone do you fancy?” The boss asked with enthusiasm.

“What’s the price for this one?” Chen Huan pointed toward the second piece.

“Oh, this is from the old Daika pits, it isn’t cheap and the market price for it is 50k.” The boss said after some thought.

“What about this one?” Chen Huan pointed toward the fourth piece.

“This is from Damukai and I bought it for 120k yuan a year ago, I can sell it to you for 150k!” The boss said with false generosity, “There are other costs for it so I’ll just earn a few thousands from you!”

“And this?” Chen Huan pointed to the fifth piece.

“This one is incredible, it comes from Hpakant’s old pits.” The boss happily said, “Have you heard of Hpakant? There are fewer and fewer stones from Hpakant and it’s more and more expensive. Not to mention the opening shows the highest quality of jade! This is considered a half bet and I can give it to you for 500k!”

Chen Huan laughed and pointed at the five stones one by one, “Mameng, Malu, Hpakant, Nanqi, Mamang.”

The boss was shocked, “What did you say?”

“Those are the correct origins for those stones.” Chen Huan looked at him with a smile, “If it wasn’t you remembering wrong then, you got scammed.”

The boss instantly gasped.

Honestly,

There were thousands of stones in his stalls and he couldn’t remember the origins of most of them.

Only the 30 stones that he carefully selected around him he could report on where he bought and how much it cost with his eyes closed, he also knew the probability of them having jade in it.

Earlier, he was just casually saying a few names out and wasn’t really trying.

Unexpectedly, Chen Huan, who didn’t grow pubes yet, had reported all the correct origins of those stones and none of them were wrong.

He also didn’t take more than 10 minutes.

What did it mean?

It meant the other party knew his stuff!

Without years or research and experience, could he tell their origin so accurately?

Even if it was the boss, he wouldn’t be able to tell so accurately if it didn’t come from his own stalls.

He felt a bit embarrassed, “Little bro, you’re from the industry, why are you playing a joke on me? Aren’t you just trying to make me look like a fool?”

Shui Qianyu remained silent throughout it all.

She found it quite interesting that Chen Huan was able to shock the boss with just those words.

Chen Huan told her that when he was in the US, he read a lot of books about jade and watched many videos online so he could be regarded as someone with a lot of theoretical knowledge.

It seemed now that Chen Huan didn’t lie and really learned things quickly.
