My Daughter Grew Up to “Rank S” Adventurer - Chapter 56.4
Hi, guys. I read some comments and found that some of the readers are confused about chapter numbering. Chapter 56, 57 and 58 were actually parts of raw chapter 56. Raw chapters are too long (12k characters) and it will cost us $50 each to translate them which we can’t afford to pay with novel’s current situation. At last, we decided to have chapters translated in parts. We have fixed numbering of chapters. Sorry for the confusion but we can assure you that we haven’t skipped anything while translating. Novel is being translated by native translators and edited by an editor before being posted on site.
“Don’t worry! When you’re dead, I’ll send your friends from Orphen and the world’s greatest father to the same place!”
The words struck Angeline in the opposite direction.
Angeline’s face twisted in anger as she yelled at François.
“Don’t be silly! My father can’t lose to you guys! What do you mean by ‘Sky Crusher’? You will be defeated by Belgrief the Red Devil in no time at all!”
Immediately, the magic that had been raging in the air stopped.
A flurry of dust and leaves came settling down from the trees.
Angeline, François, and the soldiers all looked at each other in disbelief.
Angeline paused and looked at Qashim.
Not only did the magical power disappear, the hostility had evaporated, and it was a rather creepy feeling.
“……Eh, what?”
As soon as she was about to say it, Qashim came at her with great force and grabbed Angeline by the shoulders. She was surprised by the force, but there was no hostility, so Angeline did not swing her sword.
Qashim shook Angeline’s shoulder.
“O, o, o, oi, what did you just say? Bel, did you just say Belgrief, girl?”
“Na, what…? That’s what I said….”
“You did! Right? I’m sure I didn’t mishear you. I don’t know if I’ve been hearing that right. That Belgrief, Isn’t he missing his right leg?
Qashim grabs Angeline’s head and looks into her face until the bridge of his nose brushes against hers. His long beard tickles against her chin.
Angeline lowered her arm holding her sword and nodded her head.
“Yes, but do you know…?”
“Of course I know that! He’s one of the best adventurers I’ve ever known! Is he your… your father?”
“Un…, yes, but…”
“Haha… hahahaha!!! Oooohhhh!”
Qashim patted Angeline on the head.
“You should have said something important like that earlier!!!”
“You… you too!”
“How’s Bel doing? He’s alive, isn’t he? How is he? He has a daughter, so does he have a wife? Who’s the wife? What do you mean “Red Devil”?”
“Hey, hey…, I don’t know what to tell you if you ask me all at once. …… But my dad is fine. …… He’s been living in Tornella for a long time.”
“Tornella…I…I see…”
Qashim took a step or two backwards and fell to his knees, tears beginning to spill down his face. He was crying, but smiling with genuine joy. It’s a far cry from the pathetic expression on his face just now.
“I see, he’s alive and well… that Bel… he even has a daughter now…”
Angeline put her hand on Qashim’s shoulder, confused.
“…Qashim-san, do you know my father? How?”
“Of course I know him! He’s my friend… my friend… If that’s what he thinks of me.”
After saying that, Qashim looked at Angeline, smiling a little sadly.
“But you haven’t heard anything about me from Bel, have you?”
“U, Un…um, could it be that the friend you were using as an example…”
“Well, yeah. Hehe, I don’t know if Bel has forgiven me yet though…”
Angeline patted Qashim on the head in exasperation.
“I don’t know what happened to you, but my dad is not the kind of little man who will hold a grudge about the past forever!”
“Haha…you’re right. I get that feeling from looking at you.”
Qashim chuckled as he stood up and ruffled Angeline’s hair.
“We don’t have to kill each other, yeah, let’s end it here! Hey! Tell me more about Bel! Who did he marry to have you, hahaha, you don’t look anything like him!”
“No, well I’m an adopted child…”
François yelled in frustration.
“Hey! What the hell are you doing! Kill her now! Do you hear me, Sky Crusher?”
“Shut up! I’m having an important conversation right now, so don’t interrupt me!”
Qashim waved his hand angrily in the air.
Immediately, a fierce torrent of magical power surrounded François and the others.
“O, oooooh!”
François and the group of soldiers rose into the air and then disappeared, blown into the sky as if launched by a cannon.
Angeline was dumbfounded.
