“I told you it’s not like that…”

 

The bell rang, signaling the mark of evening, and Rozetta stood up with a huff.

 

“Excuse me, I have to go to the prayer service.”

 

“It’s already evening. We’ll also be leaving soon.”

 

“Belgrief-san, thank you so much for your time today. Please also feel free to come and visit us again, Charl and Byaku.”

 

“Yes, of course. I’ll bring Angie along with me when I do.”

 

The four of them got up and cleaned up the dishes, Rozetta went to the chapel and Belgrief went home with Charlotte and Byaku.

The carts rattled along the street. There were ruts in the snow, and black dirt was all that remained.

 

It was a two-horse wagon. Anessa is holding the reins, while Angeline, Miriam, and Qasim are riding on the cart. The three of them were loaded with the skins, claws, fangs, and scales of a mutant sub-dragon.

 

Angeline looked at the city of Orphen in the distance and grew impatient.

 

“Arne… Faster.”

 

“Don’t be reckless. There are four of us on board, and we’re fully loaded  with materials.”

 

Angeline mewed, her mouth agape. She wanted to get back to Belgrief as soon as possible. She leaned her back against the edge of the cart grimly, then suddenly muttered with a grin.

 

“… Dinner, I wonder what’s for dinner.”

 

She couldn’t help but be happy to imagine that her father would be waiting for her at home.

 

Miriam said as she stroked the huge fangs of the sub-dragon with the palm of her hand.

 

“I was wondering what it would be like when you said it was a mutant, but it wasn’t even that big deal of an opponent!”

 

“Yeah, I guess so. But it would have been a little tough for a lower rank, A to AA, I guess.”

 

“Hmm. It’s not an enemy of ours… Qasim was there too. Right?”

 

“Heh, heh, I didn’t do anything though. You guys are really strong.”

 

Qasim smirked as he adjusted his cap.

 

There are a lot of dungeons in the vicinity of Orphen, and several of them are designated as high rank.

 

Exploring the dungeons was a basic task in gathering materials, and defeating the magical beasts in the dungeons was also key to prevent them from overflowing. There was, therefore, a constant need for adventurers, and this was the reason why this city thrived with adventurers.

 

This time, Angeline and her team received a request to eradicate a mutant demonic beast that had appeared in a low-ranked Dungeon.

 

The Adventurer’s Guild has a long history of keeping a list of the characteristics and weaknesses of each magical beast, based on the records of adventurers’ battles.

 

These lists are used to qualitatively rank the danger of magical beasts and to determine the level of difficulty of requests. However, there are still magical beasts that appear mutated, and since it is impossible to determine the danger of such beasts, it is often left to a competent adventurer to take them down and determine the level of danger.

 

This time, the request was of that sort.

 

However, it was in reality not much of a challenge for them.

 

“But I’m thrilled to be able to dive into the Dungeon with Bel’s daughter.”

 

“I’m glad I get to fight alongside my dad’s friends… you know.”

 

“Heh, I like this, it reminds me of the good old days how fun it was to party with Bel and his friends.”

 

“Hey, Qasim-san, what was your role in the party? There was a guy with the High King Sword, right? Were you in the vanguard together with them?”

 

Miriam asked, and Qasim twisted his beard in thought.

 

“Yeah, I guess so. It’s true that Percy was the sole vanguard. Bel or Sati would step in at the right time. But I think Sati played around more often. I was positioned completely alone as the rear guard, but Bel was frequently next to me.”

 

“Even though he’s a swordsman?”
