Kanaki’s right hand unleashed black particles that flew directly at Surging Iron Wall. The jet-black magic that broke everything down to the atomic level, nevertheless, did not work as well as Kanaki had planned.
The speed at which the barrier disintegrated was slow.
The effects of “Judgment” were manifesting as normal. That barrier was the issue. The double barriers were created from high-density magical power, and the barriers themselves were so substantial that even with the support of decomposition magic, the “Judgment’s” unleashed firepower was insufficient. There was only one approach through which Kanaki could overcome this obstacle.
In this case, approaching the barrier and directly hitting it with “Destruction” would be the sole solution…
Spitting out a swear word, Kanaki discontinued his “Judgment” and started running toward the barrier. Rivalz, of course, would not allow this to happen so easily, and launched a succession of “Wind Lance” that had been equipped at the front of the barrier. Kanaki was able to somewhat avoid it, but the lances he couldn’t deal with pierced through his body.
What took Rivalz by surprise, however, was that this did not slow down Kanaki’s running momentum at all. After blocking only the attacks on the legs and head, which would have hindered his movement, and sustaining all attacks on other parts of his body, it did not take long for Kanaki to come within reach of the barrier.
After shattering two more magic crystal stones, Kanaki collided head-on with Surging Iron Wall, and activated his decomposition magic.
Right after invoking the magic, the barrier slammed into Kanaki’s body, causing him to be nearly blown away by the sheer pressure. Despite this, he persevered and kept his hand attached to the barrier.
The barrier that had operated as Rivalz’s absolute defense finally let one person through a gap in the wind that was finally opened by a sound resembling a storm. Kanaki, powerless to keep up with the regeneration, slammed his battered body and ran through the hole in the barrier, which had already begun to regenerate itself.
The barrier was only, at most, five meters thick, no matter how thick it was. For Kanaki, a martial arts expert, that distance could be covered in an instant without the use of sorcery.
Kanaki squinted through the tunnel of barriers that barred all light and stared at the sunlight pouring in from the ceiling Rivalz had torn open. Then Rivalz, who was standing by, swung his fist like an iron ball at him. Even Rivalz, who had already brought his fist to within inches of Kanaki’s profile, was undoubtedly convinced that the strike was going to succeed.
By turning his head in time with the punch’s momentum, Kanaki was able to escape the hit unimpeded and the impact was negated. This was a technique called “Slipping” used in boxing, but even that Rivalz did not seem to know this. Kanaki utilized the momentum of his spin and delivered a backward kick with all his might to Rivalz’s startled face. A strange noise came from Rivalz’s neck as a result of the well-aimed hit to the jaw, which caused Rivalz’s head to spin 180 degrees. From his toes, a reaction was sent back in response to the total loss of the cervical vertebrae.
It was a rather complicated obstacle, but he had helped Kanaki a lot in practical combat exercises and so on. Being able to finish him off with his own hands was a natural duty for a colleague.
As Kanaki reached that point of thought and was about to turn on his heel…
A roar that could not possibly be human could be heard, and when Kanaki turned around, there was Rivalz with his fists clenched. Kanaki was shocked by the unbelievable scene as Rivalz’s fist thrust deeply into his chest.
His fist, which was as solid as steel despite the lack of sorcery reinforcement, effortlessly blasted Kanaki’s 70-kilogram body away from him. His back struck the wall hard, and as Kanaki frowned in sudden, severe pain, a scene of carnage unfolded in his field of vision.
“I won’t let… you… kill.. my student!!”
He should have long passed his limit by now. Despite this, Rivalz approached with such force that he almost stepped through the floor. The impatient Kanaki shattered the magic crystal stone in his hand.
Kanaki’s “Judgement” shot was not misdirected and obliterated Rivalz’s face.
Even with his head missing, Rivalz still took a few steps toward him, then ran out of strength and collapsed. There was no need to confirm this. This time, he was utterly dead.
Kanaki regulated his breathing, which had grown rough before he knew it, and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Thinking about it dispassionately, it was a good thing to overkill Rivalz, who was in such a state of death, by expending magic crystal stones to unleash “Judgement”. As a result, he wasted a lot of magic crystal stones. However, Kanaki reflected on the fact that he had been in such a hurry that he had not been able to make a decent decision at that time.
But it was certain that Rivalz’s spirit at the very end was sufficient to cause Kanaki to lose his cool.
“…You are a big deal. Your passion for your students, that is,” Kanaki remarked to Rivalz’s prostrate corpse and left the sub-arena.
Having said this to Rivalz, who was a model teacher, Kanaki didn’t have much time left.
