A Great Man Who Does Not Appear in Magic History - Chapter 2
There was a lake in front of her, and an old castle built on an island in the center.
?Shannon: Castle house…!?
?Ein: I bought some cheap old castle. From today on, it’s yours.?
?Shannon: Shannon’s house? All this??
She was spreading her arms out wide.
?Ein: Yes.?
?Shannon: I can be king!?
Shannon rushes off towards the old castle and stops dead in her tracks at the shore of the lake.
She looks around herself restlessly and curiously. What ought to be there was not.
?Ein: There is no bridge.?
Passing by her, Ein walks on the lake. His feet never sank, but were hovering on the surface of the water.
?Shannon: Shannon will sink…!?
?Ein: Don’t worry. You’ll float.?
When Ein said so, Shannon leaves her upper body on the shore of the lake and timidly pokes one foot into the surface of the water.
By the power of magic, her foot floats softly without sinking into the water.
?Shannon: Shannon floats!?
Shannon’s face lit up in a flash and she slumped over the water.
She stretched both of her arms forward as if flying through the sky.
?Ein: Hurry up.?
Ein said while opening the castle door.
?Shannon: Shannon Chaberite!?
With a thoughtless smile on her face, Shannon screwed up without apology.
Ein looked at her doubtfully.
?Ein:….?…..Who am I??
?Shannon: Papa!?
Shannon proudly points at Ein.
?Ein: Papa is Ein Schubert. He is the head of the First Magical Workshop of the Ministry of Magic. Say it.?
?Shannon: Papa is shovel at the magic shop, I think that’s most important part!?
Ein looked at his newly adopted child with a look that said: “This girl will be the end of me”.
Shannon on the other hand, is confidently puffing her chest out, as though under the believe she had said it perfectly.
?Ein: First of all, let me get this clear. The reason I adopted you is because of research.?
?Shannon: Researsh??
?Ein: Our director is an eccentric philanthropist. He ordered me to take in an orphan with magical powers and raise them to be a magician. Then I’d be allowed to continue my stupid research.?
?Shannon: Is Papa’s researsh stupid??
Shannon asked upfront.
?Shannon: I’ll become a mage!?
Shannon shows a lot of motivation despite being told so out of the blue and not being asked what she wants to be.
?Ein: Magician.?
Ein corrected.
With question marks above her head, Shannon blinked rapidly.
?Ein: Mages only use magic. Magician are the birth parents of magic, in other words: Researchers.?
As if having an epiphany, Shannon’s expression brightens.
?Shannon: Magishan is great.?
?Ein: And do you know what a great magician needs??
?Shannon: Smarts??
?Ein: Correct. Learn what you’re told in one go. I don’t need a stupid girl as my daughter.?
Ein tells her ruthlessly and mercilessly with a blank expression on his face.
?Ein: Papa is Ein Schubert. He is the head of the First Magical Workshop of the Ministry of Magic. Say it.?
With an innocent smile, Shannon raises a finger.
?Shannon: Papa is a amazing magican. The best.?
Ein casts a sharp gaze at her and raises his right hand.
Just like that, he put his right hand forward and??stroked Shannon’s head.
?Ein: Good girl. You do get it. That’s the most important part.?
?Ein: I’ll show you around. You’ll have to pick your room.?
First, Ein led Shannon into the study.
The bookshelves are jam-packed with old books.
A wooden desk and chair was there.
?Ein: Here is the study.?
After explaining to her that she is free to read the books, Ein moved to another room.
Carpets with gold embroidery are laid out.
There were several sofas, low tables, and the ceiling was furnished with a chandelier.
?Ein: The parlor.?
After giving Shannon a quick tour of the room, they move again.
Ein guides Shannon through various rooms, but Shannon just enjoys looking around and shows no sign of deciding which room to choose.
Before long, they arrive at a very large room.
Shannon was happily running around.
?Ein: Still haven’t picked one??
?Shannon: Over there??
Shannon pointed to a door at the far end of the corridor.
?Ein: Oh.?
Ein starts walking.
The two of them came to a room with a particularly luxurious structure even for this castle.
Across the vertical room was a majestic throne.
?Ein: The throne room.?
?Shannon: Soooo coool!?
Shannon ran out and happily sat on the throne.
That was when.
?Don’t touch.?
Along with a frightening voice, something touches Shannon’s neck.
She shuddered, rose from the throne, ran to escape, and embraced Ein.
?Shannon: Weird voice!?
?Ein: Not at all.]
As he indifferently watched the eerie ghost appear behind the throne, he said.
?Ein: It’s a low-class ghost.?
Shannon’s shoulders shake.
?Ein: Worry not. They come hand in hand with the old castle. We’re doing magic research after all.?
Ein explains so, but Shannon mouth hung open wide, staring at the low-class ghost with frightened eyes.
?Ein: It won’t harm you. Touch it.?
Low-class ghosts are not powerful enough to adversely affect humans.
At best, they can touch, groan or startle you.
But scary things are scary for small children.
Shannon did nothing but tremble and cling tightly to Ein’s hand.
He sighs.
And then, pointed his palm at the low-class ghost.
?Ein: ?Purification{Blair}?.?
Enveloped in the light he had emitted, the low-level ghost disappeared.
?Ein: I’ve purified it. It’s all good now you know??
Shannon sticks to Ein, refusing to leave.
Ein’s expression is that of confusion.
(Why isn’t she leaving?)
He questioned.
Thinking so, a smile cropped up on his face.
?Ein: Alright. Do you want to try using magic??
Shannon slightly raised her head and looked at Ein with an upward glance.
?Ein: If you’re able to use {Blair}, you wouldn’t have to be scared anymore.?
Then, in a half excited and half anxious manner, she asked.
?Shannon:..Can Shannon do it??
?Ein: No problem.?
?……….?
Looking uneasy, Shannon’s lips were pursed together in a tight knot.
?I’ll do it.?
She replied.
