[Vol. 1] Chapter 82: Hard and Stiff

[Host, is there a possibility that Amelia has really come?]

[Impossible!]

Ifia, still bound to the stake, shook her head instinctively, denying the system’s words. In her perception, the Amelia she knew was an elegant noble’s daughter, not a demon with horns on her head and a chilling aura all over her body!

A demon, you say?

Not only horns, but even a tail.

Wait, does the system know something about this?

[The waiting you mentioned earlier, was it for me to wait for Amelia?]

[Yes]

[……]

Ugh, damn system, how much has it been hiding from her!

While Ifia was going crazy, the three poisonous dragons under Amelia flapped their wings, immediately causing the black-robed figures below to stagger and stare wide-eyed at the colossal creature in the sky. They were scared out of their wits, and their legs couldn’t help but tremble.

Fear was evident on every face, they had truly seen a demon!

“Demon, it’s a demon!”

“Help… help, oh God, please save your people!”

“We are the children of gods, protected by divine blessings. Even if it’s a demon, it cannot harm us!”

How ironic it was that just moments ago they were cheering and clamoring to kill the witch, and now they found themselves being hunted. Before the massive dragon, each person appeared as tiny as ants. One careless step could crush them.

Upon the real appearance of the demon, some people prayed to the gods for protection, some fainted out of fear, and others didn’t find the demon frightening at all. After passing judgment on the witch, they had already gained the approval of the gods. Perhaps the appearance of the demon was a test from the gods! As long as they captured this demon, they would be the saviors of the empire!

They would receive more admiration and worship from the people, and the church would consider them heroes! They would spread the divine light across every inch of the land!

At the thought of this, the black-robed figures suddenly felt an inexhaustible strength coursing through their bodies. They picked up their wooden clubs, feeling as if divine power had been bestowed upon them, allowing them to overcome the demon even with bare hands.

Meanwhile, Amelia looked down at the tiny and repulsive humans below with a hint of annoyance on her face. Without letting these jesters continue their antics, she quickly unleashed her demonic realm, instantly immobilizing everyone present.

Not only freezing the movements of humans but also preventing trees, flowers, and even the wind from entering the domain. In this state of complete stillness, the black-robed figures couldn’t move, with only their eyes able to turn, gazing upward in terror. The courage and strength they had just mustered vanished instantly, leaving only fear and despair.

However, Amelia didn’t immediately take action against them. Instead, she leaped down from the back of Azhdaha, almost instantly appearing in front of Ifia. Looking at Ifia’s dazed expression, Amelia extended her demonic claws with sharp nails, cutting the ropes that bound Ifia.

As Ifia’s body began to descend, Amelia instantly restored her right hand to its original state. Carefully, she reached out and embraced Ifia’s slender waist, bringing her back to the ground. When Ifia’s feet touched the ground, she finally felt a sense of reality.

Staring at Amelia, who stood before her as part-human and part-demon, Ifia widened her almond-shaped eyes. With cautious probing, she asked, “Amelia?”

“It’s me.”

The familiar voice and tone confirmed that it was indeed Amelia! Taking a closer look, Ifia noticed the demon horns on Amelia’s head glowing red, and her cheeks adorned with distinctive magical patterns, obscuring her original appearance.

Her deep red eyes now carried a hint of evasion. The left claw, still in its original state, displayed fine and hard scales, along with a tail that seemed to move nervously, likely due to tension. Apart from these demonic features, there was a faint glimpse of Amelia’s face.

Ifia felt like her brain’s CPU was about to burn out from working too fast. So, her good friend, the Duke’s daughter Amelia, was a demon? It seemed like not just any demon, but a high-level one, given that she entered the scene riding a dragon. But wasn’t this supposed to be an ordinary medieval romance novel? The system didn’t mention demons when assigning the mission.

“Sorry, Ifia, I’m late.”

Even with Amelia’s terrifying demonic appearance, when she spoke words of concern, Ifia couldn’t help but recall the incredibly kind Duke’s daughter Amelia. Was she in such a rush to come because she was worried about her?

If Amelia hadn’t arrived in time, Ifia would have been burnt to ashes by the flames. So, once again, Amelia had saved her!

Compared to the fanatics of the Judicators’ organization, even if Amelia was a demon, so what? She was far better than some humans!

Originally, the fear of demons was halved in the midst of these complex emotions. Therefore, with the bonus of a favorable atmosphere, Ifia tentatively raised her hand, slowly taking hold of Amelia’s right hand. After Amelia didn’t reject the gesture, Ifia felt the soft touch in the palm of her hand, emboldening her a bit more.

Feeling daring, she wanted to touch Amelia’s tail, but Amelia stopped her at that moment. “Ifia, touching a demon’s tail is a sign of intimacy.”

“……”

Okay, so you can’t touch a demon’s tail. She was just curious, really! Not trying anything mischievous!

“But you can touch my horns.”

“Really?”

“As long as you’re not afraid.”

Seeing that Ifia didn’t show any fear despite her demonic appearance, Amelia, delighted, even swayed her tail behind her.

Completely devoid of the dignity befitting a demon lord, Amelia instead lowered her body, allowing Ifia to reach out and touch the horns on her head. Ifia, curious, didn’t refuse and touched them.

They were hard.

“Amelia, would you kill me?”

After feeling the demon’s horns, Ifia withdrew her hand and hesitated to ask this question. Although demonized Amelia could take her life at any moment, treating her like a lowly ant, she still wanted to ask.

It seemed she wanted to judge whether Amelia’s previous interactions with her were sincere or if she had approached her only with the intention of eventually killing and consuming her.

Upon hearing Ifia’s question, Amelia sighed lightly. As her left claw returned to its normal state, she touched Ifia’s cheek, causing the injuries from the earlier slap to immediately disappear. Ifia’s black hair, destroyed by fire, also returned to its original smooth and silky state.

After completing all this, the demonic features gradually disappeared, and Amelia, now back to her purple-eyed self, looked at Ifia with a serious expression and said,

“Ifia, I would never harm you.”
