A Sweet Girl Won't Be Fooled By The Villainess - [Vol. 2] Chapter 17
[Vol. 2] Chapter 17: Another Serving
Ifia doesn’t want to work in the rear hall, mainly because she’s lazy to do physical work. She wants to lie down flat. However, when it comes to the kitchen, that’s her domain! But, you can’t make bricks without straw, so she needs to check what ingredients are available in the kitchen first.
“Oh right, Ifia, I forgot how delicious your cooking is!”
After hearing Ifia’s voice, Jessica’s memories and taste buds were awakened, causing her to change from a worried expression to extreme excitement. Looking at Ifia again, it’s as if she saw a divine savior!
Others, however, were puzzled, not understanding why Jessica suddenly became so excited. Can the current problem really be solved by Ifia alone?
Later, when they arrived at the church’s kitchen and saw Ifia rolling up her sleeves to start cooking, everyone was dumbfounded, unable to believe what they were witnessing. Ifia chops vegetables so quickly! Ifia cleans and prepares fish so efficiently! The main course Ifia makes is so peculiar!
Upon entering the kitchen, Ifia glanced at today’s ingredients and immediately decided what to cook. Due to time constraints, they needed a quick meal, and since the main food ingredient in the Sith Empire is flour, the church’s kitchen didn’t have rice stocked.
Therefore, after crossing out a portion of the recipe, Ifia took another look at the kitchen’s cookware. The Sith Empire didn’t have a wok, and she didn’t bring one either, so she could only use the oven and soup pot. The baking tray on the stove could also be used for frying meat.
“Don’t just stand there, come and help quickly!”
After determining today’s menu, Ifia quickly called on the others to join in. With many hands making light work, they soon prepared tonight’s dinner.
“What time is it already? Where’s dinner?”
“I need to go to the front hall for prayers afterward. Can we speed it up?”
“No wonder, Nornada told me not to come to the cafeteria, saying there would be no dinner even if I came.”
“I just heard that the chef took leave, and tonight’s dinner is prepared by an intern. I don’t know if it’s edible…”
When Ifia and the others arrived at the cafeteria with dinner, many clergy members were already waiting. Ignoring the complaints, Ifia lifted the iron ladle and knocked on the iron bucket, loudly announcing, “Dinner is served! If you’re late, there won’t be any left!”
Suddenly, the crisp sound of collision drew everyone’s attention. When the priests and nuns received tonight’s dinner and saw the different dishes on their plates, they hesitated and dared not pick up their chopsticks.
Once the interns sat down, they immediately began devouring their meals. They seemed anxious, as if afraid someone else might eat it all if they were too slow. While Jessica was enjoying a flatbread, she couldn’t help but give Ifia a thumbs up. She sampled the fish ball and fresh soup, fried meat patties, and tossed salad, all of which were so delicious it brought tears to her eyes!
Oh, in such a simple environment with basic ingredients, Ifia managed to create such a tasty meal! She was truly a master chef! The interns were eating as if they had never had a meal in their entire lives. Some priests and nuns couldn’t resist either. They first spooned a bit of the milky-white soup and, in the next moment, widened their eyes. It was so fresh!
Scooping up a fish ball and savoring the delightful sensation as they chewed, it was irresistible! It was unbelievably delicious! With the delectable fish ball soup, priests and nuns no longer hesitated to try the other dishes. Whether it was the flatbread or the fried meat patties, everything was incredibly tasty.
“Oh my, I have never eaten such delicious food. Who prepared this dinner?”
“Even the royal palace banquets don’t taste as good as this!”
“If I could eat such delicious food every day, I wouldn’t mind waiting a bit longer.”
Soothed by the delicious food, the priests and nuns no longer complained. They wore expressions of happiness and contentment as they devoutly enjoyed their dinner. Reluctant to finish quickly, they savored every bite.
After the interns finished eating, each one patting their satisfied stomachs, they felt extremely cheerful. Even Arlan, who had been subjected to Nornada’s challenges earlier, relaxed. Looking at the empty plates, there was a desire to have another serving.
No wonder Ifia earned Miss Barlen’s friendship, she was definitely not an ordinary person. Now they had a glimpse of her extraordinary skills. Just with her culinary talent, even if Ifia was a commoner, her future prospects would be limitless.
Once they were full and rested, the interns sat in the cafeteria chairs. Arlan spoke up, “Ifia, thank you so much today. If it weren’t for you, we would have been in a difficult situation.”
“It’s great that I could help. Just hold on a bit longer, and in eight days, we’ll be able to go back!”
Ifia enjoyed seeing others satisfied with her cooking. It gave her a sense of accomplishment. She waved her hand to Arlan, indicating there was no need for such formal thanks. After all, this wasn’t just about Arlan, it was about all the interns.
“Hehehe, Arlan, how about that? I told you before, Ifia’s cooking is super delicious. If you didn’t believe me then, do you believe it now?”
Listening to Arlan’s gratitude, Jessica smirked and then proudly exclaimed. Arlan nodded with a smile, “I believe, I believe. Ifia’s cooking is really delicious!”
“Did Ifia cook tonight’s dinner?”
Just then, a questioning voice came from behind. When Ifia turned around, she immediately saw Father Churt, her old partner in the confessional, standing there with an empty plate in his hand.
Father Churt’s face showed a shocked expression, making Ifia awkwardly scratch her nose. However, deep down, she thought it was finally good to see Father Churt losing his usual calm demeanor. Heaven knows, listening to those bizarre confessions in the confessional, Ifia felt like she could maintain a stunned state until the end of her shift. But Father Churt, who charged into the front lines, still maintained his original composure, displaying an admirable indifferent expression towards life and death.
“Yeah, Father Churt, you think it’s delicious too!”
Jessica, the proud disciple of the Society of the Cow, said triumphantly. Originally, she just wanted to show off, but unexpectedly, the usually indifferent Father Churt actually nodded.
In that instant, even Jessica was stunned, feeling like she might be seeing things.
At the same time, Father Churt took the initiative to chat with the interns, piquing the curiosity of other clergy members. When they heard that Ifia was the chef for tonight’s dinner, their gazes towards Ifia became extremely intense.
Sensing this, Ifia quickly said goodbye to Father Churt before the other clergy members gathered, pulling her companions away hastily.
Being the center of attention? No, thank you! Let her quietly finish her internship!
After returning to the dormitory and getting a whiff of the kitchen’s oily fumes, the first thing Ifia did was rush to the bathroom with her toiletries for a thorough wash. When she emerged with damp hair, she felt a strong desire to lie down on her soft bed.
Ah, the soft bed – she had arrived! Ifia happily gazed at her bedding, ready to dive onto it. However, her arm was caught by Lucy just as she was about to pounce. Lucy’s face wore an anxious and concerned expression, and she frowned as she spoke, “Ifia, Jessica left the dorm!”
“???”
“And then, I found that the stash of sleeping pills was taken along with her.”
(-_-)
Afterwards, Ifia and Lucy exchanged knowing glances, understanding each other’s thoughts. That impulsive Jessica must have gone off to seek revenge!
