[Vol. 2] Chapter 18: Ifia, What to Do

?System, quickly, quickly, lock onto Jessica’s location!?

Ifia’s failed attempt at feigning laziness and lying down was followed by a quick change of clothes. Ifia and Lucy left the dormitory without alerting others, quietly making their way to the residence area of the clergy.

It’s best not to inform others about the fact that they carry sleeping pills.

After the system helped lock onto Jessica’s location, Ifia quickly came up with an excuse and, with Lucy in tow, hurried towards the living quarters of the clergy. Behind the dormitory building, they found Jessica, who had already succeeded in her mission.

Proud and disdainful Nornada had been successfully drugged and was now lying on the ground with closed eyes. Jessica’s face bore a triumphant expression, almost as if she were about to burst into laughter and dance with joy on the spot.

Until she looked up and saw Ifia and Lucy rushing over.

?(?.?)?

“Jessica!!!”

While Jessica was still in shock, Ifia impatiently called her name in a hushed tone. It seemed like Ifia wanted to grab Jessica by the ears and make her behave!

She’s become too much for even the church to handle!

“Ifia, Lucy, why did you come… I was just getting angrier thinking about it, wanted to teach her a lesson, didn’t intend to do something bad!”

Jessica, who was caught in the act, quickly put away the sleeping pills in her hand. Afterwards, she obediently stood there like a primary school student who had made a mistake, while also trying to justify herself.

This made Lucy shake her head in exasperation, thinking about how impulsive Jessica didn’t consider the consequences. She immediately asked, “After you drugged her, what did you plan to do? If Sister Nornada is harmed in the church, it could alert the Imperial City Police!”

“I don’t know, I just wanted to vent, feel uncomfortable… I hate Nornada and wanted her to have a hard time!”

Jessica pouted, kicked at the weeds childishly, appearing like a petulant child.

Upon realizing this, Ifia understood that drugging Jessica was not a wise move. When they returned to the dormitory, she confiscated the “crime tools.”

“Alright, we’ll discuss it later when we get back. Jessica, how much of the powder did you sprinkle?”

After observing the amount Jessica indicated, Ifia thought for a moment, then took out a bottle of potion from a hidden pouch on her magical belt.

Facing the gaze of her two companions, Ifia raised an eyebrow and introduced the new potion, “Itch Powder. When used, it takes effect in an hour, making people feel incredibly itchy.”

Now that they had come this far, it seemed unsatisfying to just leave things as they were.

Moreover, judging by Jessica’s indignant appearance, it was apparent that she wouldn’t easily give up…

Anyway, this Nornada wasn’t exactly a good person. Therefore, with the delayed effect of the new potion to distance herself from any implications, Ifia decided to give Nornada a small punishment.

“Wow, Ifia, you have something like this, and you didn’t tell me!”

Excited at the mention of Itch Powder, Jessica immediately moved closer to Ifia, eager to take a close look at the new potion. However, Ifia unexpectedly raised her hand and grabbed Jessica’s ear, causing Jessica to yelp and beg for mercy. Afterward, she promised not to act impulsively again.

If Ifia weren’t worried that Nornada might suddenly wake up, she would have let Jessica suffer a bit more. It was quite audacious, and she seemed unafraid of getting caught.

Thinking about this, Ifia gave Jessica a disapproving look, then opened the Itch Powder and sprinkled some on Nornada’s body without confirming its effectiveness. Immediately afterward, she quickly dragged Jessica back.

When the three returned to the dormitory, Ifia, despite Jessica’s tearful eyes, forcefully took back the sleeping pills. Finally, she could lie down on the bed and rest.

Time passed quickly, and by now, the Itch Powder should be taking effect!

?Host, you were too impulsive. You should have come back directly instead of continuing with retaliation.?

As Ifia relaxed and was about to miss Amelia, the system suddenly spoke up at this moment, immediately bringing Ifia back to attention. She asked with confusion, ?What’s wrong??

?Given Nornada’s personality, even if the Itch Powder has a delayed effect, she might suspect foul play.?

Hearing the system’s words, Ifia raised an eyebrow but didn’t start worrying about it. What’s done is done, and regrets are pointless. Moreover, Nornada, this church mouse, probably wouldn’t dare to make a big fuss.

?She doesn’t have concrete evidence, and due to the theft, she definitely won’t dare to involve the police. There’s nothing to fear.?

Ifia felt proud of her momentarily clever brain. Quick, praise her!

However, just as Ifia was reveling in self-praise, the system poured cold water on her.

?Even though Nornada won’t involve the police, she’s not that timid. If she experiences health issues, she may report it to the church, and Archbishop Mirabeau will conduct a thorough investigation. As a precaution, I suggest the host quickly hide the sleeping pills.?

The system sighed.

Because the Kefid family made a pact with demons, as a reward for Nornada’s outstanding contributions, the family revealed this secret to her, allowing Nornada to witness the demons firsthand. Subsequently, Nornada’s faith collapsed, and she began to fear. This led to frequent insomnia, irritable moods, and paranoid thoughts at the slightest disturbance, fearing that others might have pacts with demons and would use magical means to harm her.

Therefore, it was a mistake for the hosts to take action against Nornada. However, in the absence of being able to reveal the existence of demons proactively, the system could only watch helplessly.

To prevent the situation from deteriorating further, the system suggested handling the threat to the hosts. Upon hearing the system’s reminder, Ifia thought for a moment and ultimately agreed with the system’s recommendation.

First, she took the sleeping pills from Lucy and, while pretending to go to the restroom, hid the belt filled with potions in a tree. With that, she returned to the dormitory feeling relieved. Now, she could finally lie down!

“Interns, wake up! Archbishop Mirabeau has summoned everyone to the main hall. Don’t waste time, you must arrive within ten minutes!”

However, before Ifia could lie down again in her pajamas, Austin’s voice echoed outside the door. This left Ifia speechless, twitching the corners of her mouth, thinking that the system had actually figured it out.

“Ifia, what should we do!”

On the way to the main hall, Jessica, feeling a bit scared, approached Ifia. Despite Ifia initially wanting to tease her, she eventually reassured her, saying, “It’s okay. I just hid those potions. Don’t act out of order later.”

“Remember, we haven’t done anything. We came back from the cafeteria and went straight to bed.”

Ifia’s steady words acted as a soothing tonic, and Jessica, looking like she had finally been saved, breathed a sigh of relief. Lucy couldn’t resist mocking her, leading to Jessica angrily chasing Lucy, trying to playfully punch her chest with love.

Laughing and joking, they arrived at their destination. Upon entering the main hall, they immediately sensed a serious atmosphere. Compared to the neatly dressed priests and nuns, the interns were in various states of attire, with many in sleepwear or wrapped in outer garments. Luckily, there were others dressed similarly, making Ifia feel less awkward.

The three of them quietly joined the queue, and soon, Archbishop Mirabel walked in with a solemn expression, followed by Nornada. Unable to resist the intense itching on her arms and neck, Nornada scratched herself, leaving numerous red marks. Perhaps meeting an enemy made her particularly agitated.

Upon seeing Jessica, Nornada forgot about the itching and pointed at her, shouting loudly, “It’s her! She definitely used dark magic!”

Nornada’s voice was sharp, bordering on hysterical madness. Even Mirabeau, surprised, turned her head to look at her before addressing Jessica with a serious tone, “Jessica, Nornada accuses you of attacking her. Do you have anything to say?”

“Your Holiness, I have no idea what exactly happened. I’ve been staying in the dormitory all along. Instead of accusing me, I believe Sister Nornada should go to the Imperial Mental Health Institute for an examination.”

With Ifia’s guidance, Jessica was completely unafraid of the accusations. However, her candid demeanor made Mirabeau furrow his brow. He felt that Nornada seemed almost insane. Throughout the journey, Nornada had been talking about demonic sorcery, which was inconceivable within the sacred confines of the church. Perhaps Nornada had come into contact with something, causing an allergic reaction and itching all over her body.

Nevertheless, the Kefid family loomed over like a hanging sword, leaving Mirabeau with no choice but to investigate internally, even if he wanted to ignore Nornada. He could only proceed with an internal inquiry.

“As this involves an alleged plot against the clergy, the matter is very serious. Therefore, starting now, law enforcement personnel will search for any suspicious items within the church premises.”

Mirabeau didn’t express belief or disbelief in Jessica’s words. He simply formalized the order to search the dormitories. This declaration ignited protests from the present clergy members.

“Your Holiness, we have personal privacy rights, and you have no authority to search us.”

“Yes, why should Nornada’s situation lead to a search of our residences? I disagree!”

“This is challenging the dignity of my nobility.”

Not only were the priests and nuns furious, but the interns were also equally indignant. Isabella, who exuded an elegant classical nobility, had been quiet since arriving at the church. However, upon hearing the Archbishop’s announcement of the search order, her face flushed with anger.

Suppressing her rage, Isabella spoke to Archbishop Mirabeau, “I demand an immediate report to the Imperial Police!”

Upon hearing the word “report,” Nornada, still scratching, shuddered and immediately objected, “No!”

Seemingly to conceal her own nervousness, Nornada continued, “Now that such an incident has occurred in the church, we absolutely cannot let the outside world know. Otherwise, the reputation of the church will be affected.”

As soon as the reputation of the church was mentioned, Archbishop Mirabeau hesitated. Now he found himself caught in a dilemma.

“It’s really lively here!”

Just when the front hall was in an uproar, a voice suddenly came from the direction of the main gate. Ifia, who had hidden her belt earlier, was stunned.

She couldn’t believe her eyes as she looked up, only to see Amelia, who she hadn’t seen for two days, walking in wearing an elegant black dress.
