[Vol. 3] Chapter 27: Silly and Clueless
Ifia walked confidently ahead, head held high, while Jessica followed with a confused expression on her face.
Jessica couldn’t understand! They were just going to the royal palace hall for dinner. Why did Ifia act like she had taken some kind of stimulant, ready for battle with weapons in hand???
Was there a fierce beast in the hall, or a dangerous enemy? Jessica dared not say or ask, so she suppressed her doubts and quickly reached the entrance of the hall.
The palace maids standing by the door immediately smiled and raised their hands to open the doors when they saw the two approaching.
Once inside the hall, similar to the morning banquet, there were a dozen or so tables arranged. However, perhaps because the two were late, palace maids were already busy serving dishes. Compared to the previous lavish feast, this time the dishes were lighter.
It wasn’t clear whether it was to accommodate the taste of the Sith Empire’s people, but from the ingredients and presentation of these dishes, it was evident that the Taric royal family valued their guests even more than when they first arrived.
“Hmph, scheming individuals!!!” While Jessica marveled at the dishes on the table, Ifia snorted coldly, didn’t look again, and immediately walked towards the direction where Amelia was.
Upon entering the hall, Ifia’s first priority was to find Amelia.
Wearing an imposing expression, Ifia might have given off a very fierce impression, but unfortunately, her cute appearance softened it. Her pouting and sulking gestures made people want to pinch her cheeks. Amelia couldn’t help but sigh, realizing that Princess Sissi, the pawn in this situation, had brought quite a bit of aftermath!
Ifia wished she could be with Amelia 24 hours a day. However, Amelia liked it. She didn’t find Ifia too clingy. Instead, she looked forward to it.
Even if Ifia just sat quietly beside her, it brought joy to Amelia’s heart. The demonic desire for slaughter decreased, along with the cruel and violent impulses.
Of course, as these violent desires decreased, other desires increased. Therefore, cuddling and kissing were quite normal.
Thinking about all this, Amelia’s expression remained unchanged. She still maintained a cold and indifferent attitude, making the nobles who initially wanted to approach hesitate.
Amelia Barlen, as the daughter of a duke, naturally had the capital to be proud. If they approached recklessly, it might provoke anger.
But such a good opportunity to build connections is rarely encountered…
While the nobles were hesitating, Ifia, unlike them, confidently walked towards Amelia. Fortunately, when Ifia spotted Amelia, she was sitting leisurely at the table alone, without anyone else around and certainly no Princess Sissi, that scheming individual!
Otherwise, Ifia felt she would explode in anger! As Ifia approached Amelia, Jessica hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided to follow her.
However, before she could catch up, someone grabbed the collar of her dress from behind. When Jessica turned around, it was that annoying girl, Austin.
“Jessica, if you still have the ability to see, it’s best not to disturb Ifia and Amelia Barlen. Otherwise, it will become quite annoying.”
Austin’s appearance leaned toward the glamorous type. Her emerald green eyes seemed like top-notch emeralds. Gazing into them felt like being immersed in a lush forest, enchanting and unforgettable. Due to her always smiling demeanor and deliberate guidance, people tended to subconsciously overlook her sensuality and focus more on her words and actions.
As for Jessica’s unease with Austin, it stemmed from Austin’s general impression as a social elite. Despite their first meeting when Austin was a kind nun in the church, Austin’s ability to effortlessly change her outward appearance and demeanor according to different environments made her somewhat intimidating, like a chameleon.
However, after the incident with the drunkenness, the halo around Austin in Jessica’s eyes had shattered. Most of the awe dissipated, and Jessica dared to retort to her.
“Ifia is my friend, and she wouldn’t look down on me!”
The sensation of being held by the collar was uncomfortable, and Jessica struggled to break free. However, to prevent her clothes from tearing, she couldn’t make too vigorous movements. She could only verbally declare her refusal to submit.
Yet, this had little effect on Austin. She raised a delicate eyebrow, calmly breaking Jessica’s fantasy, “Ifia may not mind, but what about Amelia Barlen? Perhaps you haven’t noticed, when you cling to Ifia, Amelia Barlen’s gaze toward you seems…”
Upon mentioning Amelia Barlen, Jessica stopped struggling. When Austin didn’t continue with her mischievous thoughts, Jessica turned her head and glared at her. Austin chuckled and didn’t continue to tease. Instead, she earnestly said, “She wants to make you disappear completely.”
Hearing Austin’s words, Jessica couldn’t help but shiver.
It’s not that Austin is exaggerating, she’s absolutely right. Sometimes, Jessica also feels as if someone has set their sights on her life. However, because the sense of crisis comes and goes quickly, Jessica didn’t take it too seriously. Now, hearing Austin’s analysis, Jessica hesitated and decided not to approach for the time being. Maybe it’s better to play with Ifia while keeping a certain distance from Amelia Barlen. Being overly intimate might put her in danger of an assassination.
“So, to prevent you from being silenced by someone, do you want to come to my…”
“Get lost! I’d rather sleep under the bed than sleep with you!”
Initially startled by Austin’s suggestion, Jessica rolled her eyes in silence. Upon seeing Isabella and Andrea, she quickly joined them at the table. Austin, however, seemed to find something amusing and shamelessly took a seat next to Jessica. Annoyed, Jessica coldly snorted. To divert attention, she slyly looked at Ifia and Amelia Barlen.
Always feeling that these two are too close for comfort!
“Amelia, how come you didn’t wake me up!”
When Ifia sat next to Amelia, seemingly defending her territory, she muttered in a discontented tone. Her rosy lips tightly pursed, feeling that she couldn’t let her guard down for even a second now!
However, as she got closer to Amelia, memories of the intense kiss before bedtime suddenly attacked Ifia. It made her uncontrollably recall that passionate and full-of-desire kiss. The forceful and sensual encounter.
When Ifia’s cheeks turned red due to the recollection, Amelia poured her a cup of sweet fruit juice and patiently reassured her, “You’ve been traveling a lot, and I want you to rest a bit more.”
Amelia’s voice brought Ifia back, and to cover up, she reached out to take the cup of juice. Taking a sip, the sweet taste helped slow down her intense heartbeat.
Initially, she thought a good night’s sleep would restore things to normal. However, the memories were too vivid. What should she do?
Amelia was fierce and aggressive when she was drunk due to alcohol. Ifia couldn’t reciprocate unless…
Seemingly thinking of something, Ifia’s eyes sneakily glanced at the wine jug beside her, contemplating whether she should get drunk again. However, Amelia was a dominant tipsy lady, and Ifia, when drunk, was rather foolish. Plus, there was Princess Sissi, the one ready to swing a shovel at any moment…
Perhaps it’s better to play it safe for now!
Ifia being drunk might just provide an opportunity for Princess Sissi to take advantage.
Absolutely cannot let Princess Sissi have her way! With this in mind, Ifia set down her cup and then earnestly looked at Amelia, saying, “Instead of resting, I’d rather accompany you!”
“Accompany me?”
“Yes, in that case, we can travel together… Beautiful girls should be careful when out and about, to avoid falling prey to those with ulterior motives!”
When mentioning those with ulterior motives, Ifia was on the verge of mentioning Princess Sissi by name, which made the knowing Amelia smile. Nevertheless, she nodded obediently on the surface.
Ifia loved this docile demeanor so much that she couldn’t help but smile. Deep dimples emerged, seemingly capable of drowning anyone within them.
“Hey, what are you planning?”
Just as Ifia and Amelia were getting along well, a noble suddenly exclaimed in surprise. This caught the attention of those around, who looked up to see the doors opening, revealing a group of women clad in sheer long robes.
They held long swords and danced gracefully in response to the drumming, not with gentle moves but with a sword dance exuding a solemn and murderous air.
The woman leading at the front had her face veiled, revealing only a pair of deep blue eyes. As the swords danced, the sheer robes swayed continuously.
The graceful and sexy bodies were alluringly exposed, and even though the Sith Empire didn’t appreciate such bold displays, the ample bosom, slender waist, and long legs danced without reservation, enough to make people repeatedly swallow and feel parched.
Of course, this didn’t include Amelia and Ifia. Even though this woman wore a mask, Ifia recognized her at a glance. It was none other than Princess Sissi, attempting to gain attention with this performance!
Dressed in this manner and showcasing her talents, was she trying to attract Amelia’s attention? Hmph! Too naive. Did she think she could succeed like this? Ifia was not to be underestimated.
Despite Amelia’s seemingly indifferent expression and unchanged gaze, appearing completely uninterested, Ifia was still prepared to fight back. She wouldn’t give Princess Sissi the opportunity to wave her shovel and make advances.
So what if she showcased her talents to attract attention? Ifia might not have those talents, but she could certainly use her charm!
