[Vol. 3] Chapter 35: Interesting

Faced with Princess Sissi’s initial attack, Amelia Barlen did not immediately counter. Instead, she agilely dodged back and forth, displaying a relaxed demeanor that indicated her mastery over the situation. It was as if she were playing with a cat and mouse.

Even in a situation where her clothing barely brushed, Princess Sissi’s plan to defeat her with a single move failed. This only confirmed the rumors were not exaggerated, and Amelia Barlen was indeed formidable. This realization heightened Princess Sissi’s seriousness, and her expression became more severe. Her sword in hand became even sharper.

For the sake of victory, she no longer cared about fair play but resorted to cunning and sneaky tactics that made her opponent virtually undefendable. However, Amelia Barlen continued to effortlessly evade, appearing as if she could always stay one step ahead.

The continuous high-intensity movements left Princess Sissi panting, but her sword strikes remained swift. However, Amelia Barlen, who was being attacked, seemed to grow bored.

Her purple eyes were filled with a mocking expression as she provocatively said, “Is this all you’ve got?”

In contrast to Princess Sissi, who couldn’t find an opportunity to strike, Amelia Barlen saw her opponent’s weaknesses as clearly marked targets. Winning was not a challenge for her.

However, her attention was not on the duel victory but rather on what was happening below the stage. She observed Ifia, the little one, with hands tightly clasped in front of her chest. Her cute face displayed a worried expression, seeming impatient and almost wanting to stomp her feet. Eventually, her lips tightened, and her moist black eyes revealed a sense of anxiety.

As if between heaven and earth, Ifia’s eyes were the only ones Amelia Barlen could see. This focused gaze brought immense pleasure to Amelia, to the point that she selfishly prolonged the fight, all for the sake of maintaining Ifia’s attention for a longer time.

Yes! Just keep looking at her!

No matter what happens, let the gaze always follow her. In Amelia’s eyes and heart, there was only Ifia. As long as Ifia obediently stayed by her side, it would quiet the heart that always sought destruction and slaughter. It would also soften the eyes that only appreciated the wailing of death.

Although there were too many demands on Ifia, it was unreasonable. But, who made her a demon! As Amelia thought about these things, her body automatically dodged Princess Sissi’s sword strikes. She began to consider whether to pretend to be careless and get injured, perhaps gaining even more attention and care from Ifia.

However, being injured by humans, something that demons disdain, would be a kind of humiliation that invites mockery.

“Amelia Barlen, I admit you are formidable, but you cannot escape from the palm of my hand!”

While Amelia was contemplating, Princess Sissi suddenly stopped her attacks. Even though a series of sword techniques were effortlessly evaded by Amelia Barlen, proving her strength, Princess Sissi didn’t feel discouraged or angry. Instead, she felt the excitement of finding a worthy opponent.

Having tested Amelia Barlen’s formidable skills, Princess Sissi decided not to hold back any longer. Without a decisive move, she couldn’t defeat Amelia Barlen.

Even if Amelia Barlen ended up injured or disabled, Princess Sissi wouldn’t stop. No matter how Amelia Barlen would end up, Princess Sissi wouldn’t disdain her.

With this determination, Princess Sissi tightened her grip on the sword handle, her fighting spirit continuously rising. However, her blue eyes lost their luster, and black lines appeared in her pupils.

The stones beneath her feet cracked due to the overwhelming pressure, creating an atmosphere both powerful and oppressive, making everyone nearby extremely uncomfortable. The people close to the stage were affected, turning pale and trembling as if they might faint at any moment.

The sudden change shocked the audience, and as people began to retreat, Ifia widened her eyes in anxiety. Though she didn’t know what was happening, she sensed that Amelia was in danger!

Almost in an instant, Ifia recalled fragments of the immersive experience storyline, particularly the peculiarities related to the Taric Kingdom. Underground dungeons, imprisoned individuals, blood-sucking… And there was a significant chance that the prison was right beneath the palace.

Since Princess Sissi was a member of the royal family, she might be the orchestrator of everything or at least connected to those involved! Ifia needed to save Amelia!

Thinking about the potential danger that Amelia might be facing, Ifia’s eyes immediately reddened, and she couldn’t sit still. However, as she attempted to run towards the stage, Austin behind her reached out and grabbed her.

“Ifia, please calm down. Miss Barlen will be fine.”

“No, that Princess Sissi is clearly suspicious. Amelia might get hurt.”

However, Austin’s reassurance didn’t work. Ifia started to struggle violently, almost slipping out of Austin’s grasp, but she managed to hold on. While Austin contemplated whether to knock Ifia out to keep her safe, a chilling and sharp gaze suddenly shot down from the stage.

This made Austin immediately abandon that idea. At the same time, she thought that if it weren’t for protecting Ifia’s safety, she wouldn’t have gotten involved in this mess.

“Austin, what are you doing? Release Ifia quickly!”

In the moment when Austin sighed about her misfortune, Jessica chose to join, making Austin sigh even more helplessly. She thought that fortunately, she usually exercised, so she could endure until now.

However, compared to Ifia’s weak strength, Jessica was like a playful calf bumping into everything. Austin’s leg was kicked by her, causing a sharp pain.

Austin, feeling irritated, could only use one hand to restrain Ifia’s movements while the other hand caught Jessica, who was hitting and kicking randomly. She directly lowered her head and bit Jessica lip.

The sudden kiss left Jessica stunned, her stiff body frozen like a sculpture. Ifia took advantage of the opportunity to break free, quickly running forward, wanting to reach Amelia as soon as possible.

On the stage, after retracting her gaze from Ifia, Amelia keenly sensed the spread of some dark aura. She raised her eyes and realized that it wasn’t a pure human…

Quite interesting.

However, with Ifia frightened, this duel could come to an end. Amelia withdrew the motion of delivering a fatal blow with her sword. Even though Princess Sissi reacted quickly, she didn’t manage to evade and still suffered the attack.

Immediately, it seemed like Amelia lightly tapped Princess Sissi’s shoulder with her longsword, not using too much force. However, the ‘crack’ sound of bones breaking, along with the spiderweb-like cracks appearing under Princess Sissi’s feet, proved that this was not just a random tap.

The next moment, Princess Sissi, who was still gathering strength, suddenly spat out blood. She collapsed like a crumbling house, kneeling on one knee, and the black patterns in her blue eyes quickly disappeared. Her face turned as pale as paper, and blood continuously flowed from the corner of her mouth.

It was evident that in this duel, Princess Sissi had lost. Amelia Barlen won with just one move.

However, instead of continuing to stand on the stage to receive cheers and applause, Amelia Barlen quickly jumped down, intending to comfort the frightened little bird.

However, before she could take a few steps, Ifia rushed over and hugged her.
