[Vol. 3] Chapter 54: The Ostracized Little Unfortunate One

Originally, Ifia thought that the nobles had called Amelia to the grand hall for a good discussion. For example, they might plead with Amelia to take action, to search for Prince Carloy and such. However, she never expected that it would turn out to be a blame game and condemnation!

Just by listening to the angry and accusatory shouts, it was evident that they were pressuring her, wanting Amelia to take responsibility for the disappearance of Prince Carloy. Where did they get the nerve?

Even though this new route journey was led by the Barlen family fleet, due to the cooperation agreement reached between the Barlen family and other families, even the royal family got involved, forming three factions gathering together.

Therefore, on the new route from the Sith Empire to the Taric Kingdom, it wasn’t just the Barlen family dominating. Even before the journey began, the leader of the envoy had been decided.

It wasn’t someone from the Barlen family but a middle-aged nobleman from an old-fashioned family named Stephen Parker. Although he didn’t make much of an impression along the way, always overshadowed by Prince Carloy, he was indeed leading the group.

The voice that had just echoed from the grand hall, Ifia felt it was very much like Stephen Parker. That arrogant noble who liked to look at her with disdainful eyes, always showing a look of regret and disgust when seeing her with Amelia, as if Ifia were some kind of pest!

She wished she could just charge forward and separate her from Amelia. In response to this, Ifia wasn’t someone to take things lying down. While still on the ship, she took the opportunity to throw a handful of itching powder at the arrogant noble, making him itch so much that he couldn’t sleep for days and nights. Because she did it discreetly, not even Jessica, who always played with them, knew about Ifia’s hidden actions.

Now, hearing that Stephen Parker was causing trouble again, Ifia felt a burning hatred and thought maybe she had been too lenient with the itching powder. She should have made him itch to death!

The leadership of this new route had little to do with the Barlen family, and not to mention Amelia, who had not even graduated from the academy yet. At most, she was just a noble heiress participating in this exotic sightseeing trip out of curiosity.

So why should Amelia be responsible? Even if there was a verbal engagement between Amelia and Carloy, there was no certainty that they would actually get married. After all, besides being the fiancee of the prince, Amelia was also the only daughter of the influential Duke Barlen.

The most outstanding direct bloodline of the Barlen family. Perhaps, Amelia suddenly became interested and decided to compete with Prince Carloy for the next throne! So, in a way, they were competitors. If there was no emotional foundation between them, even if Prince Carloy died in front of her, Amelia could remain indifferent.

As for whether the royal family would be upset, even if the king was saddened and angered, he wouldn’t blame Amelia. Because he knew deep down that even if Prince Carloy had not faced any mishap, Amelia Barlen was the best heir to the throne. Not to mention, after Prince Carloy’s actual disappearance, there probably wouldn’t be anyone more outstanding than Amelia Barlen!

It was for this reason that Ifia said Prince Carloy’s disappearance had little to do with them. They should just go on with their usual eating and drinking, without taking it to heart. However, she didn’t expect these nobles to have no shame!

They resorted to moral coercion!

The more she thought about it, the angrier Ifia became. She stomped her foot and briskly walked to the front of the grand hall.

Perhaps aware of the principle of ‘keeping family matters private,’ the palace maids who usually guarded the door were nowhere to be seen and the locked doors couldn’t hide the sharp voice of Stephen Parker.

“The disappearance of Prince Carloy is a major event, especially in this unfamiliar Taric Kingdom. We must find him quickly!”

“Amelia Barlen, your outstanding abilities are evident, and you should contribute your efforts.”

“If something happens to Prince Carloy, when we return to the Sith Empire, see how you explain it to His Majesty the King. By then, the Barlen family will also be implicated.”

Ifia couldn’t stand it anymore! The anger in her heart surged, breaking the rational line representing her brain. So, she directly lifted her foot and with a loud ‘bang,’ kicked open the door. The force was so strong that the door slammed into the wall, creating a loud noise, instantly grabbing everyone’s attention.

Upon seeing that Ifia was the one who kicked the door, Stephen Parker disdainfully spoke, “Lowly commoners have no manners. We are discussing important matters here, not a place for people like you to come.”

As the leader of the envoy, Stephen Parker had quite an imposing manner, even though Prince Carloy had stolen the limelight from him as soon as they boarded the ship. However, considering Prince Carloy’s status as the royal heir, Stephen Parker didn’t think much of it. It was only natural.

After all, once Prince Carloy succeeded, the entire Sith Empire would be his. At present, Stephen Parker was just the leader of the envoy, and if Prince Carloy desired it, he would gladly offer his full support! Absolutely no complaints!

However, unlike his mild treatment of Prince Carloy, Stephen Parker is extremely harsh in dealing with others. This includes Amelia Barlen of the Barlen family.

The Duke’s daughter, Amelia Barlen, as a noble heiress, has actually had close dealings with an unknown commoner, which is simply disgraceful to the aristocracy! Not to mention, Amelia Barlen is also the future queen and should be mindful of her words and actions.

However, Amelia Barlen pays no regard to her image, always coming and going with commoners. Furthermore, she ignores her fiancé, Prince Carloy, and spends her days playing with commoners! It’s truly shameful for the family!

Stephen Parker doesn’t think he’s being hypocritical, and he doesn’t flatter the Barlen family as much as others do. Everything is because Stephen’s family supports the royal family primarily. So, upon learning about Prince Carloy’s disappearance, Stephen Parker is as anxious as an ant on a hot pot, fearing for Prince Carloy’s safety!

“Discussing important matters? That’s not how I hear it. It seems more like shamelessly shifting responsibility!”

Ifia, caught up in anger, disregards the class division between nobles and commoners, bluntly retorting without courtesy. This leaves Stephen Parker wide-eyed in anger, but he still can’t stop Ifia’s words.

“A bunch of old folks on the verge of kicking the bucket soon, actually shifting the blame onto a just-turned-adult girl. Truly shameless.”

If Amelia weren’t right there, Ifia would have loved to give them a piece of her mind with a barrage of harsh words!

Each and every one of those shameless individuals!

Ignoring Stephen Parker’s angry stare, Ifia, undaunted, directly walked past him and then stepped up to Amelia.

Upon entering the grand hall, Ifia noticed the clear division of positions among the people inside. Austin wasn’t present because she was entangled with Jessica, causing her to leave the group. So, the shameless nobles shifting blame were standing together, while Amelia stood alone in a corner.

With her back to the sunlight from outside, it was hard to discern Amelia’s facial expression. Standing alone, she seemed like someone about to be engulfed by the darkness of loneliness.

Just like a pitiful soul being ostracized, it tugged at Ifia’s heartstrings.

(o_o#)

They really made her angry!

“Amelia, don’t worry. I won’t let them bully you!”

The just-turned-adult girl, Amelia, whom Ifia considered pitiful and helpless, blinked her eyes and quietly withdrew the intention to unleash the demonic domain of horrors.

Originally, she had thought of letting the demons devour the souls of these noisy nobles.

She planned to let them wear human disguises for a while and then die dramatically upon returning to the Sith Empire.

However, now it seemed like a good time to change the plan.

Amelia enjoyed seeing Ifia’s concern, feeling a warm and fulfilling sensation in her chest.

The pity conveyed through Ifia’s expressions and tone immediately helped Amelia pinpoint the key to showcasing her award-worthy acting skills.

With a forced smile and fatigued purple eyes, Amelia, though not speaking, seemed to convey a lot.

This ignited Ifia’s anger, and her desire for confrontation had already exceeded the threshold!

She firmly raised her hand, gripping Amelia’s hand, and then turned to look at Stephen Parker. She had no intention of letting this arrogant noble, who looked down on others, off the hook.
