A Sweet Girl Won't Be Fooled By The Villainess - [Vol. 3] Chapter 61
[Vol. 3] Chapter 61: Dark Elves
The sudden, loud alert from the system was piercing and gave Ifia a sensation as if her eardrums were about to rupture. However, now was not the time to dwell on such matters, it was time to escape!
Despite the lack of clarity in the conversation with the system, the mention of Dark Elves approaching quickly prompted Ifia to prioritize her escape without considering anything else. Hastily, she initiated a super-acceleration and sprinted towards the room.
Danger has the potential to unlock human capabilities – Ifia couldn’t help but think that this statement was true, considering she felt capable of participating in the Olympics at this moment!
Her running speed was impressive!
Without the system’s explanation, Ifia wouldn’t have been so frightened.
After all, in legends, elves were depicted as beautiful and aloof creatures, preferring to live alone as a unique species in the forests – the epitome of seclusion.
However, in reality, the name “Dark Elf” was deceptive and had no connection to regular elves. Instead, it was a special creature related to the demon side. As is well known, demons are synonymous with cruelty and ferocity, bringing misfortune wherever they go.
Thinking about the recent encounter with the Sixth Princess, who underwent a transformation due to a blood curse. Sharp teeth, red eyes, and a horrifying appearance lacking any sense of beauty. Ifia could foresee that Dark Elves, belonging to the demon classification, would likely exhibit similar traits.
It is indeed frightening! However, as Ifia vividly imagines the ugliness of demons, another reluctant thought crosses her mind. Even among demons, there are distinctions. Apart from the majority of grotesque demons, there are some with adorable horns, tails, and eyes as captivating as rubies.
Have I encountered such demons before?
Finally back at her residence, as Ifia raises her hand to push open the door, her consciousness momentarily falters. In her mind’s eye appears a pair of gentle red eyes, looking at her with joy…
*Thunk*
As Ifia’s brain and body seem to split into two, closing the door forcefully brings her back to reality, shaking her head vigorously. She feels as though she’s losing her mind, indulging in fantasies in such a perilous moment.
Clearly, she has never seen anyone with such red eyes in reality. Until now, only Amelia’s purple eyes were the most enchanting, leaving an unforgettable impression.
[System, am I safe now?]
[Please be cautious, host. The Dark Elves have already locked onto the host, and avoiding them will not make them give up.]
Even one of them could cost her life!
Initially, Ifia breathed a sigh of relief after finally taking refuge in the room. However, hearing from the system that the Dark Elves had caught up with her, Ifia was utterly bewildered.
Could it be that encountering Princess of Taric, who is half-human and half-demon, even from a distance, somehow allowed the Dark Elves to trace her movements?
The more Ifia thought about it, the more frustrated she became. No wonder, before leaving, she heard the Sixth Princess making sarcastic remarks about being sheltered by demons. She certainly did not feel sheltered by the Sixth Princess!
Ifia’s naive mind didn’t dwell too much on the situation. Although she knew this world was inhabited not only by humans but also by many unique creatures, she hadn’t considered that the people around her might not be entirely human.
Therefore, she only felt that the half-human, half-demon Sixth Princess had caused her trouble, leading the Dark Elves to target her. Now, listening to the system’s warning, Ifia paced anxiously.
Since escaping was not an option, she had no choice but to face them head-on. However, Ifia glanced down at her frail and powerless hands, realizing that even a punch might be seen as a mere itch by the Dark Elves.
Once again, regret washed over Ifia. If only she had followed Amelia out of the palace!
As for seeking help from the system…
In crisis situations like this, which she had encountered before, the seemingly useless system had proven ineffective. It was better not to waste words now. Ifia wondered if there was still time to leave a farewell message.
[System, how much time do I have before the Dark Elves find me?]
[Estimated within thirty seconds. I advise the host to stay away from the door to avoid accidental harm.]
[Huh? Why is your tone so indifferent, System? Have you already accepted the impending destruction?]
Whenever faced with life-threatening situations beyond evasion, Ifia had a knack for turning fear into chatter. She would latch onto the system and unleash a torrent of words, using it as a distraction to wear down her fear. However, this time, danger had struck swiftly.
Before Ifia could continue her banter with the system, the wooden door of the room was forcefully shattered, revealing a bare doorframe that removed any barrier between the inside and outside. It was then that Ifia finally laid eyes on the Dark Elves!
Despite the system’s prior explanation and the mental preparation, seeing the Dark Elves in person made Ifia feel as if her eyes had been blinded by their ugliness. The Dark Elves were dwarf-like in height, resembling goblins from manga. Their small, red eyes were the size of soybeans, their sharp fangs protruded noticeably like wild boar tusks, and their skin was incredibly dark.
On top of that dark hide were numerous bulges, emitting a constant popping sound with each breath as the bulges kept bursting, releasing black thread-like worms. Mad, these grotesque entities should not bear the name “elf” at all.
The weapons wielded by the Dark Elves were equally unusual. Upon closer inspection, they appeared to be bloody white stick-shaped objects, resembling fresh human leg bones. Held in the hands of the Dark Elves and occasionally twirled as if it were an amusing toy.
If Ifia were guilty, she would rather be sent to prison than be scared to death by the Dark Elves!
“Demon… taste… Ah, it’s… Great Lord Ahriman, incredible, catching a plump one, going to eat you…”
Unlike Ifia’s disgust and fear, the five Dark Elves, upon seeing Ifia, immediately had their tiny eyes light up. Uttering unclear words, they wore peculiar smiles on their faces, tightly gripping the white leg bones. Then, without a moment’s hesitation, all formalities were skipped.
Suddenly, all five lunged towards Ifia simultaneously. Their sharp fangs were ferocious weapons, eager to pierce through Ifia’s neck and drain every drop of her blood.
This aggressive approach caused Ifia to step back in fear, realizing that something was wrong. How could they not even speak a word? It seemed like they were not even giving her a chance to delay!
Despite her fear of the Dark Elves, Ifia had no intention of waiting passively for death.
She stepped back until she reached the vicinity of the table and chairs, immediately raising her hand to tightly grasp the chair, preparing for the Dark Elves to approach and delivering a smashing blow to their heads with the chair. Although she wasn’t sure if it would be effective, it was better than sitting idly and waiting for death!
If only Amelia were here…
She could draw her sword and poke holes in these ugly Dark Elves!
Ifia, with tearful eyes and terrified, missed Amelia immensely. However, a distant solution couldn’t quench immediate thirst. After Amelia and the others left the palace, they wouldn’t return until evening. By then, her body would be cold…
The more Ifia thought about it, the angrier she became. She didn’t want to die like this, she wanted to stay by Amelia’s side!
These thoughts rushed through Ifia’s mind in just a couple of seconds as the five Dark Elves approached. Fueled by her frustration, Ifia erupted, lifting the chair and smashing it towards the head of one of the Dark Elves.
However, the idea of fighting back didn’t materialize. Instead, an invisible force constrained her body movements. Ifia felt like a motionless doll, forced to stand in place with wide eyes. The close-up view of the grotesque smile on the Dark Elves’ faces was nauseating and repulsive.
It’s over, it’s over, it’s over!
This time, my life is truly beyond saving!
Ifia thought angrily that her life was at an end. However, just as the sharp fangs of the Dark Elf were about to pierce Ifia’s neck in the next second, a dazzling white light suddenly radiated from her body.
In the following moment, it directly formed into a white halo, enveloping Ifia within. The intense white light was blinding, making it impossible to open their eyes. At the same time, she felt utterly confused.
???
She hadn’t done anything! Why did she suddenly emit white light?
The five Dark Elves, ready to pounce and tear, were directly bounced away by the white light. With a sizzling sound, the bulges on the Dark Elves’ black hides were illuminated by the white light, immediately bursting open, revealing the semi-lifeless black worms inside.
Soon, black blood started flowing out of these bulges, corroding the ground and forming small craters. Ifia became even more wary of these Dark Elves, realizing that even their blood had a corrosive effect.
The Dark Elves, suffering such severe damage, naturally wouldn’t let it slide easily. At this moment, looking at the white light, they resentfully exclaimed, “It’s a divine blessing!”
Unable to succeed with their initial strike, the Dark Elves quickly prepared for another round. Despite possessing the divine power detested by demons, the woman before them was not a holy envoy at best.
She was merely blessed through prayer, and all they needed to do was deplete that divine power. Eventually, they planned to strip her of her tendons and skin and fashion her bones into weapons.
However, as the Dark Elves began their second wave of attacks, Ifia, within the white halo, suddenly widened her eyes.
The abruptly shining black pupils were fixed on the direction of the door, fearing that she might be experiencing an illusion due to overwhelming fear. However, it didn’t take long for her to confirm whether it was an illusion.
“Who released you disgusting creatures?”
Silver-haired Amelia, wielding a longsword, nonchalantly swung it.
The ferocious Dark Elves screamed in agony, with two of them directly split in half by the sharp blade, turning into ashes.
