A Sweet Girl Won't Be Fooled By The Villainess - [Vol. 6] Chapter 33
[Vol. 6] Chapter 33: Absent-minded
“Miss Ifia, welcome back.”
The butler Heber, stood among the maids, trembling. His face was as pale as paper, but it was quite expressive, not at all vacant like the others.
He was the only one among them who appeared normal, which puzzled Ifia.
So, after getting off the carriage, she did not immediately enter the villa but instead stood where she was.
First, she scanned the people around her. Their vacant expressions had not changed, and they still stood there blankly. Only the butler had a tearful look on his face.
This prompted Ifia to ask directly, “Butler Heber, what has happened during my absence?”
Upon hearing this inquiry, the butler took a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his sweat, revealing a smile that was more pitiful than crying, his eyes full of sorrow as he said.
“Miss Ifia, previously, because of the matter of summoning demons using magical plants, although we had invited the clergy from the church to exorcise them, but…”
“Whether the exorcism was not thorough, or because the church was burned down, the demons returned and took control of the families within Darwa City using despicable means… This led to a situation akin to an epidemic, causing even the ordinary citizens in the city to suffer from absent-mindedness.”
“They are like soulless shells, yet they can still follow orders and work.”
At this point, the butler was overwhelmed with sadness.
He had harbored a faint hope that the Barlen family might be different, but they only resisted for a little longer before they too succumbed.
All the servants had come down with absent-mindedness, except for him, for reasons unknown. It should have been something to be grateful for.
But that would be the case only if there were other lucky ones.
Not just him!!!
He was terrified to death, he would rather have the illness like everyone else. At least then he wouldn’t be living in constant fear.
He wouldn’t have to hide in the villa all day, too scared to step outside…
If it weren’t for Miss Barlen suddenly sending a message, notifying him to come and welcome Ifia, he would probably still be cowering in his room, afraid to move.
After the butler finished recounting his recent experiences through his tears and snot, Ifia had a pretty good understanding of the situation… Well, how should she put it, there was no need to be so scared.
It was just Amelia’s demonic tactics.
She wondered if she could restore everyone to normal.
Initially, Ifia thought she had plenty of time and could plan slowly, but upon returning to Darwa City and seeing the situation, it was clear she couldn’t take her time anymore.
She needed to act swiftly and decisively.
She had to talk to Amelia as soon as possible.
Resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
As for whether these people can recover? Once they leave this small world and the Main God presses the reset button, everything will be fine.
So, after Ifia learned it was because of Amelia. She then offered a few comforting words to the butler, feeling very sympathetic.
The entire villa had only the butler remaining clear-headed, obviously because he was needed to manage affairs. Even if the world is about to end, the workers still have to keep working!
Ifia silently sighed a few times, then took the two children into the villa, planning to rest in her room first.
After instructing the butler to prepare a new room next to hers, the butler finally noticed the two children Ifia had brought with her.
They were very cute!
Wearing black berets, suspender skirts, and shiny little leather shoes.
Although their hair and eye colors were different, just looking at their identical faces, they were like mini versions of Miss Barlen!
Huh?
The butler Heber, snapped out of his joy at meeting normal people. He looked at the two children, then at Ifia, and his face immediately showed a very puzzled expression.
Are they… the Duke Barlen’s illegitimate daughters?
Or other family members in direct line?
How could they look so much like Miss Barlen?
For a moment, the butler thought of many reasons, his expression changing constantly, making Ifia want to laugh. Finally, she playfully revealed the answer.
“This is my elder daughter, Cheryl, and this is my younger daughter, Daryl. They are my and Amelia’s biological children.”
“……”
Seeing the butler’s stunned expression, Ifia laughed and led the two children inside.
Once the door was closed, the children looked around at the luxurious decor and furnishings. They weren’t dazzled but quickly had a plan in mind.
Cheryl spoke first, “Mom, those people just now were so strange, with such blank expressions, like their souls were extracted and replaced with puppet remnants. It’s clearly the work of demons!”
Daryl chimed in support, “Yeah, yeah!”
Meeting the gaze of her two children, Ifia initially didn’t react, thinking they were just feeling sorry for those suffering from ‘disorder.’ But she quickly recalled Amelia’s accusations, saying that little demons were very troublesome.
Reflecting on this, Ifia looked down and saw the accusing expressions on her children’s faces. Calmly, she responded, “It was demons, was it? That’s terrible and very frightening. How are we going to live here? We must find and deal with the culprit.”
As soon as she said this, the children’s eyes lit up, and they silently rubbed their hands together.
“Isn’t it said that demon mom is very powerful and can control many demons? Could the anomalies in Darwa City be…”
“Caused by demon mom!”
The truth was revealed.
But this revelation came too quickly.
Ifia finally realized that her children were not as innocent and cute as they seemed. In fact, they were quite cunning. She couldn’t help but marvel at how amazing bloodline inheritance is.
They only appeared so naive and adorable in front of her. To outsiders, they seemed very indifferent, similar to their demon mother.
What could she do?
She could only become a bridge for communication.
Ifia took each child in one arm and carried them to the bed. With a sigh, she decided to speak plainly.
“Cheryl, Daryl, although you are still young, you are quite mature, so let’s have a fair conversation.”
“Mom doesn’t want to hide anything from you. This is a world controlled by the Main God. So, mom has decided to leave this world. After that, we might not stay in any particular world, and everything will depend on Amelia, your demon mom, not destroying worlds anymore. Otherwise, the Main God will harm mom.”
Even though the Main God still doubted Amelia would agree to it, it didn’t stop Ifia from using this as a pretext.
Cheryl and Daryl were both stunned.
They never expected the truth to be like this.
Their demonic rebellious nature made them refuse to stay in this small world any longer. They wanted to do everything they could to leave and see the outside world.
But this required their demon mother to settle down and stop causing trouble, which also meant they couldn’t go against her anymore.
This made Cheryl a bit disheartened. As if she had thought of something, she suddenly asked, “Then, Mom, if we become stronger than demon mom and gain the ability to fight against the Main God, could we… abandon her and the three of us roam the world together?”
Cheryl originally wanted to say ‘kill her’ but quickly changed her wording.
She looked intently at Ifia, waiting for an answer!
