Assassinating the Hero - Chapter 1

On the top floor of the Demon Lord’s castle.

There was a throne room that had turned into little more than a heap of rubble stood a lone warrior, battered and worn.

“Well done, Hero Daichi.”

The warrior… hero Daichi, turned his attention towards the resolute voice. It was his companions who were approaching.

He had faced off against the Demon Lord alone.

After all, the only one who could stand their ground against the overwhelming might of the Demon Lord was Daichi, who was equally unreasonable in his own right. While his companions were holding back the surrounding demon subordinates, Daichi challenged the Demon Lord to a one-on-one duel and emerged victorious.

Daichi smiled as he looked at each one of his companions’ faces.

“I did not do it alone… it’s all thanks to you girls.”

The Saintess, Lemille.

The Warrior Maiden, Moira.

The Witch, Urja.

These three beautiful women were his fellow members of the hero party. they were the ones who had supported the hero Daichi for a number of years.

“Daichi, your injuries look terrible…. please drink this potion.”

“Thanks.”

After taking a sip from the elixir that he had received from the Saintess, Daichi once again smiled at the three.

“Let’s go home.”

“Please wait for a moment, we still have work to do”, said the Saintess.

“Is that so?”

“Yes.”

At the same time her words had left her mouth, a divine light had emitted on the Saintess’ hands. Then, several bright chains sprang out from under Daichi’s feet, wrapping around his body.

“Ugh, w-what going on?”

“This is our final duty.”

Lemille spat out with an expression that was as cold as ice.

“We will reap your life.”

Said the Warrior Maiden that was behind the Saintess. She stepped forward with her great sword in hand.

“Now that the Demon Lord has been been vanquished, the only seed of conflict left is you… Hero.”

Daichi desperately tried to tear off the chains, but for some reason he couldn’t muster the strength to break free.

“Looks like the elixir of weakening is working as intended. Good work, Urja.”

“Was everyone in on it? Was our relationship this… trifle?”

“We were chosen for more than just our abilities”, said the Witch with her gaze down.

“Our mission was to seduce you, and to catch you off guard.”

And with that, the Warrior Maiden decapitated the hero with her great sword.
