Daily Life of a Villain’s Mother - Chapter 361
Chapter 361
In the lounge, there was a restaurant offering dining opportunities for contestants and their families to dine.
Jian Lan took the menu and said, “I remember your favorite dish is braised pasta. Do you want this one or something else?”
Tang Jin’s eyes darkened, but she still had a smile on her face: “Mom knows my taste the best, that’s what I’ll have.”
Although Jian Lan thought braised pasta was Tang Jin’s favorite, it was a dish Jian Lan preferred. Tang Jin doesn’t like to eat braised pasta.
Tang Jin had almost forgotten the need to maintain her disguise after being away from home for so long.
Despite her sour mood, Tang Jin forced herself to eat the bland food. After all, she had grown accustomed to embracing everything that wasn’t truly hers.
Yet, she found it agonizing to continually force herself to become a completely different person. What could be more agonizing than to wear a façade all day.
Tang Jin smiled at Jian Lan as she said. “Mom, why don’t you head back first? I still need to practice.”
Jian Lan did not notice anything amiss with Tang Jin and readily nodded. “Alright, I’ll head to the office first and then home.”
As Tang Jin bid goodbye and walked away, her expression immediately darkened.
When Tang Jin left, Jian Lan didn’t leave immediately and happened to receive a text message from her secretary, saying that there was a small problem with the recent project.
Jian Lan immediately called the secretary swiftly provided a contingency plan, and planned to rush back to the company.
After hanging up the phone, Jian Lan stood up and prepared to leave when Ye Fan walked in from outside. The former’s footsteps paused slightly and didn’t hesitate for long before changing her mind.
“Ye Fan.”
Jian Lan took the initiative to walk up to Ye Fan and said, “Mind if I join you?” She pointed to the empty seat in front of Ye Fan.
Turning towards the voice, Ye Fan spotted Jian Lan causing her eyes to flicker slightly as a smile appeared on her lips.
“Of course you can.”
Ye Fan looked at Jian Lan and said, “Are you here to see Tang Jin?”
Jian Lan nodded and said, “Hmm, have your family ever been here?”
Ye Fan smiled faintly and said, “My mother and I don’t have a good relationship. I moved out when I was in college.”
Ye Fan’s tone was light-hearted, but it made Jian Lan’s heart tense.
Jian Lan hesitated and asked, “May I ask about your family?” Jian Lan has always been very cultured and never asks these questions.
But when facing Ye Fan, she couldn’t wait to know everything about her.
Ye Fan did not shy away. “My father passed away, and I have a younger sister who is currently studying. I take on the role of the head of the family but my relationship with my sister is just average.”
Jian Lan’s heart twitched, and with a few simple words from Ye Fan, she could imagine Ye Fan’s situation at home.
At that moment, Ye Fan’s meal arrived, it was a simple bow of vegetable porridge. Ye Fan took a spoon and sipped it slowly.
Jian Lan couldn’t help but be concerned, “You’ll have no stamina if you only eat vegetable porridge.”
When Ye Fan heard Jian Lan’s concerned tone, she couldn’t help but bring a little smile to her face, “My stomach isn’t good, so it’s better to eat this instead.”
Because Ye Fan didn’t know what the next competition would be compared to, she had been practicing causing her stomach problems to worsen.
