Daybreak Summoner - Chapter 26
The name of that thought is
“Big sis Rei, Shifle will be at the Royal Capital at all as long as I can. You can always count on us if you need help.”
“Yes, thank you Shifle-chan, see you soon.”
“Yes, sir.”
After leaving the knight’s office, we parted ways in the northern residential area.
Rei sees Shifle off as he runs briskly back to his home.
Alone, Rei looks up at the sky over the Royal Capital and thinks.
Seven Arms, a summoned weapon that exists only in legend.
And the Seven Hero Blades that control them.
Rei alone would be no match for them.
But Hilde has a reliable ally in Shifle.
Now, if only she could recover.
With her by his side, Rei can fight anything.
??
Folk Room 203.
Rei unlocked the door and returned to the room where she was waiting.
“…I’m home, Rin-chan.”
“…nn, welcome back.”
When Rei returned, Rinna had already slipped out of bed.
She changed out of her nightgown and sat by the window looking out.
“I went to see Hilde-san…and Shifle-chan.”
“…I see.”
Rinna doesn’t shift her gaze from the window.
“They’re both willing to help. Now we’re a hundred strong, right?”
“…I guess so.”
“Seven Arms is a weapon from a fairy tale…you know about that?”
“…Un.”
She didn’t look at Rei, and her reply was somewhat absentminded.
Rei, unable to look at her like that, makes a suggestion.
“…Hey, Rin-chan, let’s go for a walk.”
“A walk…?”
Rinna unintentionally turns to Rei.
I’m glad she finally looked at me, and pulled her arm tighter.
“Come on, come on, it’s a beautiful day.”
“Hey, hey, don’t pull.”
Rei half-assedly took Rinna out of the house.
They arrived at a hilltop in a residential area.
It is a popular spot with a spectacular view of the Royal Capital.
“Nice view, Rin-chan.”
The white royal castle towering against the blue sky, the city spread out below.
The wind blowing from the meadow briskly caresses her hair.
Leaning against the fence with her side tails fluttering, Rei enjoys the view.
Meanwhile, Rinna’s eyes are on the bandage on Rei’s left arm.
The grazes on his entire body have almost completely healed, perhaps due to the enhancement of his physical abilities.
But that wound, which was deeply gouged out, was indeed slow to heal.
“…It’s my fault.”
Rinna’s heart is deeply tormented by remorse.
In the first place, her sister did not think well of her becoming a summoner.
“If only I hadn’t become a summoner…”
But becoming a summoner was the meaning of life and my goal.
“If I had never summoned Rei…”
Then she would never have been in mortal danger.
But then I would never have met her.
“My sister wouldn’t have tried to kill Rei either…”
The sight of my favorite sister and someone I love killing each other.
I could only watch and feel my own inadequacy.
And the guilt she has always felt toward Rei.
Her heart was screaming.
“It’s all… mine….
Thank you.”
“What…?”
Sudden words.
Rei shifted her gaze to Rinna and smiled.
“Why…why did you thank me?”
“I told you. I told you that I was grateful that Rin-chan invited me.”
“But…but…after what happened…!”
I don’t know.
I don’t understand what she is saying.
I wanted her to blame me.
I wanted her to blame me for forcibly pulling her into a world she didn’t know and forcing her to fight for her life.
Why did she thank me with that look on her face?
“It’s true that at first, I was simply happy to be in another world, but now it’s a little different. But now, it’s a little different.”
“Different?
“I’m more than happy to have met you, Rin-chan.”
With straight eyes and words, I conveyed my feelings.
I want to reach deep into her heart.
“So I’ll say it again and again. Thank you, Rin-chan, for calling me. For letting me meet you.”
I gently embrace her thin body.
She looks fragile, as if she might break.
But Rei knows.
There is a strong core within Rinna.
Therefore, he wants to lighten her heart even a little.
Rei confronts her with the full extent of the thoughts and feelings he has hidden in his heart.
“Don’t say such a sad thing that I shouldn’t have called you. I can’t live without Rin-chan.”
“Rei…”
“Thank you for being next to me, Rin-chan, I love you.”
–Ah, there it is again.
When Rei hugs me, I feel safe.
Hearing Rei’s words lightens my heart.
When I am with Rei, I am no longer afraid of anything.
“…Thank you too, Rei.”
I look up from my prone position and make eye contact with Rei.
“I’m fine now. I apologize for worrying you.”
Her eyes are strong and unwavering.
“I remember now, my goal. To be a better summoner than my sister. Then I can’t stand still for something like this.”
–I can’t stand still for something like this.
The two core of my being that I cannot compromise.
I want to surpass my sister, and one more thing, I would like to protect Rei.
I will never forget this.
“Let’s surpass my sister… and Dinna Gelsneir! The two of us!”
“Rin-chan… Yes. The two of us will never lose.”
Releasing their embracing bodies, Rei and Rinna stand next to each other and look out at the scenery.
Rinna murmured as a fresh breeze blew through the air.
“It’s a really nice view, Rei.”
“Yes, it’s a nice view.”
I glance at Rei’s profile.
The feelings Rinna had for her.
I never knew what they were.
When she is with Rei, she feels safe.
I feel nervous when Rei is attached to me.
When Rei meets danger, I feel as if my heart is about to burst.
But now, finally.
“I finally understand, Rei.”
“Hmm, what?”
“Huh, it’s nothing.”
–I’m in love with Rei.
??
The place was a town in the territory of Valfranc.
It is probably an abandoned bar, and naturally, there is no one in the bar.
The flyers pasted on the walls made of wooden planks are so weathered that they are difficult to read.
Dusty tables and chairs, empty barrels.
There were five men and women sitting on each of them.
“Kyahahaha! Seven blade, that’s hilarious. Even though there are six of us.”
A girl sitting on a large barrel laughs while flailing her legs.
“That’s why we’re going to take the last one now. That’s why you kids don’t have enough brains…”
The young man, leaning against the wall, brushes back his bangs in a snide tone.
The girl must have been annoyed because she jumped down from the barrel and headed toward the young man.
“What did you say? You stupid piper. Do you want me to crush you?”
“Are you going to do it, you little shit? You think you can beat my summon?”
“Now, now, that’s enough fighting!”
Helena clapped her hands to settle the situation.
Dinna was a little behind her.
“Well, it looks like everyone’s not here…”
Helena looked around the bar, and smiled at the fact that one person was missing.
Gram…. Good grief, he’s really not a good company.”
The young man sighs sarcastically and exhales.
“I don’t dislike him. I admire his pure pursuit of strength.”
Dinna spoke.
The girl angrily approached her.
“Hey, I heard you tried to run away. I don’t know if you’re a genius or what, but you’re just playing games!”
“Now, now, excuse her. She promised she wouldn’t do it again, right?”
“Umm…well, if Helena says so.”
Helena interceded, and the girl reluctantly backed away.
“Well, the time has come. The time for waiting for the squash to grow up is over. We will now begin [Harvest].”
Helena looks around the bar and turns to the man who has never opened his mouth before.
“First [Mistilteinn], I’d like you to go. I want to get that thing.”
“Well, why not? Why don’t we all go together and surround the place?”
The girl protests Helena’s decision.
Helena giggled and turned to the girl.
“That’s true, but there are many people who feel that Pride won’t allow that, you know.”
“Pride, huh?”
Dinna to the young man, a man called [Mistilteinn] and another [Gram] who is not here.
She sighed with a look of acceptance.
“Well, please take care of it then, [Mistilteinn].”
“… Okay, I’ll be on my way.”
The man opens the badly made door and left.
