Demon Noble Girl ~Story of a Careless Demon~ - Chapter 213
T/L: Hi, there.
Translation group [App] did a great job in translating this novel’s early chapters (1-175).
However, the quality of translations done by last two translators is not good. One of them translated quite a lot of chapters, so it is not possible to retranslate them all. However, other one (also last translator) only translated 2 chapters (Chapter 214 and 215). So, we have decided to retranslate from Chapter 213.
Other than that, the last two translators also used different (somewhat wrong) names than [App], causing inconsistencies.
We will mostly be using terms used by [App].
Enjoy~
I Became a Villainess 1
That last dance was orchestrated by Mother.
Well, it was all right, but I felt that Rinne had become accustomed to the human world.
On the contrary, the one who was not accustomed to the human world was Onza-kun, a former human. In his case, he was not accustomed to the aristocratic society because of his clumsy way of life.
Nearly two months have passed since my uncle became His Majesty the King, and it was almost time to start a new year and a new school year. …It had been more than two years since I had been to the Academy of Magic, but I would be a seventh grader next time around. Seventh grade was not a word I was accustomed to saying.
A lot had changed in the Holy Kingdom in the past two months. The most significant change was the change of throne, but the southern part of the country was also in a state of turmoil.
The Duke Bellrose and some of his noble subordinates have fled with their families and soldiers, creating a lawless region with no lords.
The lack of knights and soldiers made it easy for the ruffians to gather. Moreover, those who fled before that had hired many mercenaries to surround them without thinking of the consequences, and now they were suddenly dismissed from their jobs, which was a big problem. The bar…I didn’t care if they were big names like Mr. Bears, they were all lured by money without knowing what they would be doing, so they were worse than a bunch of ruffians.
That was why the former Duke have been sending men from the Royal Capital to help them out. Other dukes have sent knights and soldiers. But they had to assign a caretaker as soon as possible, so I wondered what they were going to do about it.
And while middle-class nobles such as viscounts and barons only needed to appoint a new lord with land as a bonus for their achievements, the marquises and counts also had one vacancy each.
Well, the marquis’ family had relatives all over the kingdom, so the next person was chosen in no time, but none of the nobles came forward to take over the count’s domain, which was a large domain that included a deep forest where monsters were found.
Maybe they were running in the red because of the monsters…. That may be why they betrayed the country so easily, but half of the soldiers who had barely held off the monsters were gone, so the count’s territory was in a bad state for its citizens.
The person who was provided the opportunity to manage the territory was Hero Noel of the Holy Kingdom.
Noel was given the title of count for his achievements two years ago, but he and his adoptive father, Viscount Bear-san, were nobles with no land and only a salary, so he was given the land for his contribution to suppressing the rebellion.
…forced assignment? That would be the worst way to handle it, but the best way to handle it was to have the right person in the right place at the right time.
Father also sent Bear-san, who became his foster father, out to raise the neighboring barony, so he assimilated a group of mercenaries that had been lingering in the south, and the 200 members of the original group became knights and soldiers.
Bear-san had no other children besides Noel, so if Noel had a child in the future, his second son would be a baron, and so the girls of the nobility were staring at Noel with glittering eyes.
“Iya, that was so much work!?”
“I can understand it well…”
Near the southern border of the area, Noel and Rick were talking about their struggles. For a moment, I thought I was being tricked by the voice in my mind.
I knew Noel had been busy, but was Rick up to something as well?
The reason why everyone was at the border was to welcome a group of “Royalty” from Silver Church who were going to study at the Academy of Magic.
Since they were royalty, we couldn’t let them be greeted by some random knight, so we asked Lord Noel in charge of security, and we, who were going to be their schoolmates, were going to meet them. It was a pain in the neck.
“Princess, the royalty of the Silver Church has arrived.”
“Un.”
Bianca, who had officially become my escort knight, reported back to me.
Bri-Chan and the others, to my surprise, had a successful blind date and were officially retiring on their own terms. …I was glad that it was decided. It was becoming quite a hassle.
So now we moved to a new formation with Nia as the new captain and newly hired 10 daughters of knight families around 15 years old as knights.
I wondered if it would be all right with Nia as the captain.
By the way, the reason I and Bianca said [royalty] was because the Church Headquarters had made a mess again.
When the Holy Kingdom allowed the second prince of the Silver Church to study abroad, they also sneaked in his sister, the first princess, to study abroad at the last minute.
