Fun Territory Defense of the Easy-Going Lord - Chapter 163
Fort Building
I wanted to leave quickly, but I had additional work to do. However, I need to get His Majesty on my side since I was antagonized by someone with a higher title than my own. I felt bad about asking Panamera and Ferdinand to do this.
With that in mind, I decided to start building the fort immediately.
“Well, let’s get to it. Our goal is to have it finished by nightfall.”
“What? By tonight?
Till and Arte responded to my words. Camsin, who had pulled the carriage over to the side of the road and was holding it in place, looked back at me with a surprised look on his face. Then I saw the soldiers quietly preparing to fight on the newly created road.
Even though the road was narrow enough for two carriages to proceed side by side, the knights filled it. How could anyone build a fort that could accommodate many people?
Everyone must be thinking so. Certainly, if they were to be noticed during construction, there would be no time to build a fort. On the contrary, the battle would begin before preparations had even been made. His Majesty’s mood, which had been so high, would plummet like a roller coaster.
“For now, I have a plan that I’m thinking about. Will you help me?”
Arte and Till, who had been looking at each other, turned around and immediately nodded their heads in agreement.
“Thank you. Let’s get moving quietly, then. Can you tell the Knights to gather some wood? Also, tell Ortho-san and the others to keep an eye on the fortress for any movement.”
“Got it.”
“Alright!”
Camsin and Till responded to my instructions and immediately started to move. Arte then sat down in the chair I had made and asked.
“Can you tell me what the plan is?”
Arte asked me with expectant eyes, and I nodded with a smile.

“Hey, put that over here.”
“No, this way.”
“What? This one too?”
In hushed voices, the men of the Knights carried out walls, floors, and ceilings made of Wood Block. Since there were not that many parts, the preparation went surprisingly quickly. The hillside was lined with Wood Block building materials.
“Okay, it’s ready…then, Your Majesty?”
I asked, turning around for confirmation, and His Majesty nodded with his arms crossed. Behind him, the other nobles lined up and looked at us.
“Mm. Then we will begin the construction of the fort. Earth magicians, exercise your magic under the direction of Baron Van!”
At His Majesty’s command, about 20 earth magicians formed a line in front of me as I stood looking up the hill. They were first-rate magicians selected from the various knight orders.
This was quite a powerful sight. Most of them were wearing robes and cloaks typical of magicians, and each of them had the emblem of their knighthood painted on their backs and limbs. Some of the magicians’ outfits were surprisingly colorful, perhaps as a result of their image colors, which was quite interesting.
The group of magicians were all looking in my direction.
I looked back at their gazes one by one, then cleared my throat and said.
“Well then, everyone. Are you all ready? I don’t have to say it again, but what is important this time is that you all synchronize your breath. Let’s create the shape all at once without being interrupted by the other members. In particular, those who build the front wall must be fast and precise.”
Once again, I informed them about the use of magic, which is the key to building a fortress. Many of the magicians look half-convinced, but behind me were the faces of the nobles, including His Majesty’s, lined up. Perhaps that was why they all nodded their heads in agreement, albeit grudgingly. Laughing as I let out a breath at that, I looked up at Dee, who was waiting diagonally behind me.
“Well then, Dee! Let’s get into position.”
“Ha! Leave it to me!”
Hearing Dee’s reply, I started walking toward the top of the hill, Dee quickly grabbed the huge tower shield she had just made and came out diagonally in front of me.
“Van-sama…”
I heard Till’s concerned voice behind me. I didn’t want to do anything dangerous either, but for once I had no choice. I had no choice but to go to the front of the line to prioritize speed above all else.
As we moved to the top of the hill, the view opened up like a lie. There was a steep descent and a creek with a narrow bridge, and at the far end was a fortress that looked bigger and sturdier than I had expected. It was a square building with black walls. Just looking at it, I felt intimidated by its massiveness.
On top of the fortress walls, soldiers on guard noticed us and seemed to be making some kind of noise. If we take our time, countless arrows will rain down on us.
With Dee staring at the castle wall with her shield in her hand, I looked behind me.
“Magicians! Deploy the wall, please!”
The moment I shouted in a loud voice, a huge wall rose up in front of, behind, and to the left and right of me in turn, starting with the sorcerers who had finished chanting their magic.
