Getting Outsmarted By The CEO - Chapter 50
Check out my new novel: The Villainess Is Changing Her Role To A BroCon.
There were all five of them in the room, all of whom were close friends with Gu Jue since high school. Except for Xue Zhao, the others were not part of the circle.
All of them were shocked at Xue Zhao’s words.
“F*ck, who is it?”
“Who is this amazing sister who managed to get Brother Gu so smitten?”
“Master Gu, do you know just two days ago we had a reunion party, the class belle asked me if I’m still in touch with you and if you are still single. She already has a boyfriend and still asked me! This is unbelievable!”
“Don’t even talk about it, this is the man who has attracted countless cute girls since back then. Master Gu has only been in high school for two years, if I’m not mistaken? The girls just came in flocks.”
“F*ck, just look at this face. I would fancy him if I was a chick.”
The few of them teased and hooted for a while before someone finally asked the important question.
“So did you just meet this girl? Did you fall for her at first sight after returning home?”
Unexpectedly, Gu Jue quickly denied, “Nope.”
He paused for a few seconds. His lean, defined silhouette was half hidden in the shadow, half illuminated by the dim lights of the room. His voice seemed to contain a lot of emotions when he uttered the next sentence.
“I’ve had my eyes on her for years…” Gu Jue rubbed the bridge of his nose, and smiled, “I finally found her.”
As soon as those words came out, the room exploded in an instant.
“– for years?! I didn’t know you were so loyal!”
When everyone finished hooting and cheering, they began to bet how long Gu Jue would take to hitch the girl.
Most of them betted on a month, while others thought that the girl Gu Jue set his eyes on would definitely not be an easy catch, and betted on three months.
After finishing the bet, Gu Jue spoke slowly, “I don’t know, I think I would take…” he looked up at the ceiling and said the last words softly, “Half a year?”
“Half a year?!”
“This is too long – even someone like you will need to court for half a year?” Xue Zhao gaped at him, looking extremely doubtful, “What happened to your confidence, Gu Dog?”
“Exactly, how -“
“Wait, you misunderstood.” Gu Jue cleared his throat, and everyone quickly quieted down. He clarified his statement, his eyes beaming, “I mean… Half a year to get registered.”
After suffering the horrible experience of a hangover, she dared not drink too much or drink too late this time.
At nine o’clock, Ruan An’an headed home early to sleep, and got up the next morning.
The stock market was typically very busy at the end of September, and the major financial entrepreneurs had to observe and study the graphs and statistics every day. In the past when she was abroad, Ruan An’an had to intern in the Lin Family business to gain experience. And now she finally got a chance to break free from the busy business life, and thoroughly enjoy her campus life.
—The campus, too, was just as busy as the stock market at the end of the month of September, preparing for the sports meet.
As someone extremely unathletic, Ruan An’an had completely rejected any form of participation. She was not only terrible at basketball, but was horrible at anything sports related. She could not make contributions even if she wanted to.
Her role during PE class in high school was relegated to delivering water and chocolates to the athletes.
Ruan An’an was a role model at that time, and except for a slight deviation from the behavior of a typical good student, she was thoroughly a teacher’s pet.
She was always assigned to deliver supplies to the boys as a form of encouragement to keep up their morale.
