I Was a Small Fish When I Reincarnated, but It Seems That I Can Become a Dragon, so I Will Do My Best - Extra Chapter 205
7-25. Side -Ouren- Severe Equipment Check
After thoroughly searching the room, I threw the newly compressed chunk of flesh into the trash can.
This place must be an important control area, as angels and humans frequently come and go. After handling this many, it’s only a matter of time before they realize there’s an intruder.
I wanted to find Tekelis before the enemy discovered me, but I didn’t know the location. Although I used my “Mist Manipulation” to search for something resembling a presence, I couldn’t find anything.
They might be isolated in a sealed place, or maybe they don’t even have a human-like appearance. I thought this might take some time when Abyss pulled my hair.
“Ouch… What is it?”
“??”
“That way?”
I walked in the direction Abyss indicated, where I found a lot of items that looked like test tubes commonly used in research, such as beakers and flasks. It seemed most efficient to call it a chemical shelf. As I looked around, wondering at how similar it was to the facilities in the world I came from, Abyss pointed to one of them.
It was a small bottle. The liquid inside had a creepy color that kept changing, and it seemed to be wriggling.
“Ugh, the hell… Abyss, what is this?”
“??”
“Well, I can’t hear you, huh… hmm…”
I popped the lid open. I knew it was dangerous, but seeing such chemicals made me want to smell them. I brought my nose close and sniffed, but it was odorless. I expected it to have a strange smell.
As I thought about closing the lid, an eyeball grew from the liquid.
“Oh!?”
“??!!?”
The eyeball looked around inside the bottle for a while, then seemed to notice us and focused on Abyss and me. When it saw my face, the eyeball in the liquid was expressionless, but when it saw Abyss, it widened as if it might pop out.
Then the bottle started shaking. Realizing this was bad, I immediately closed the lid. Two seconds later, the liquid began violently thrashing about, trying to escape from my hand. But if this bottle broke, I didn’t know what might happen. I used all my strength to hold down the rampaging liquid.
“What the hell is this! Hey Abyss, what is this!”
“??!”
“I can’t hear…!”
Abyss’s small voice didn’t reach me. Instead, she seemed to be trying to explain with gestures, but I didn’t want to release the clearly dangerous liquid and drop the bottle, breaking it. I had no room to watch Abyss’s gestures.
“Alright, damn it! ‘Infinite Water Manipulation’!”
With a pop, I created a bit of water and threw the bottle into it. It seemed easier to control this way than holding it in my hand. After shaking off the lingering sensation of the vibrations in my hand, I stared at the still thrashing bottle.
“What the hell is this really… Hey Abyss, what is this?”
“??!”
“Hm?”
Finally, I realized Abyss was trying to tell me something. She pointed at the liquid, then at herself, and then placed her hand on top of her head. Honestly, I had no idea what she was trying to convey.
But it was clear she had noticed something. I wanted her to tell me if it was harmless, but first, I wanted to calm down this raging liquid.
“So, do you know this thing?”
“??! (Nods!)”
“Oh, you do!? Uh, is it safe to let it out now!?”
“……”
“You don’t know that part!?”
In the end, I decided it was best to leave it as it was for now and wait for it to calm down. Just then, three people tried to enter the lab, so I promptly dealt with them and threw them into the trash can.
I had killed so many already that it seemed wise to move to a new location soon. However, at this rate, it seemed faster to handle all the researchers here and then investigate.
“…Let’s do that.”
“???”
“Mud Golem, Water Dragon.”
I created two clones and a water dragon. Adding “Assassins” to erase their presence, I ordered them to eliminate all the researchers in this facility and sent them out of the room. It seemed they began taking down researchers detectable by “Mist Manipulation” within a few minutes, so I could probably clean up in about fifteen minutes.
I’d get Abyss and Houen to help with the destruction later… But I needed to deal with the thing in front of me first. Abyss said she knew something, and if I could just calm this down, I might manage somehow.
“What to do…”
“??…”
Abyss tried to speak, but since I couldn’t hear, the liquid inside the bottle submerged in water wouldn’t hear either. Would it even react if spoken to? The fact that it grew an eyeball made me think it might be a living organism, but… That seemed unlikely.
“Oh, right, maybe I can cleanse it with purification?”
“???”
“Here we go, ‘Purification’!”
Crash!
The bottle in the water shattered into pieces.
“What the hell!!!”
“??!!?”
