I Was a Small Fish When I Reincarnated, but It Seems That I Can Become a Dragon, so I Will Do My Best - Extra Chapter 207
7-27. The Release of Tekeris
Ouren’s “Mud Golem” delivered a final, crushing blow to the last angel, silencing it for good. The attack, infused with “Shockwave” and “Organ Rupture” was fatal with just a single hit. The angel’s brain was scrambled, and its bones were shattered beyond repair.
Slowly, Ouren approached the underground tank. After tapping it to assess the material, he determined it could be easily destroyed.
Taking a step back, Ouren gathered his strength and struck with full force, shattering one of the five tanks completely. Although the “Mud Golem” was consumed by the rushing liquid and disappeared, one tank’s release was sufficient.
The ominous liquid spread across the floor before regaining its consciousness. It began to writhe and coalesce, forming a shape.
“…Sigh…“
The liquid took on the form of a tall, slender young man. He cracked his neck, as if testing out a body he hadn’t used in a long time. His sleepy eyes and jagged teeth gave him a slightly intimidating look, with eyes resembling those of a frog, stretched horizontally.
He wore an oversized robe that clearly didn’t fit his tall frame, though it was appropriate considering the nature of his abilities. His pants were also baggy, giving him a somewhat sloppy appearance.
After moving his body to his satisfaction, Tekeris extended tendrils into the remaining four tanks, absorbing the liquid back into himself. Now, he is fully restored. The only thing left was to retrieve the liquid from where Ouren and Abyss were, which shouldn’t be an issue since Abyss was there.
“Well then…“
As Tekeris infused his surroundings with anger, the objects nearby began to vibrate. The magical circuits connected to the tank shattered from the force, and shelves of chemicals crashed to the floor, their contents spilling and breaking.
Captured for 800 years. Exploited for 300 years. The being once considered a threat by the angels, requiring their full force to capture, had now been resurrected. Despite the abuse and neglect, he had clung to consciousness through sheer willpower, driven by the thought of his siblings, Abyss and Iubora. For centuries, he had resisted, creating skills in defiance, and now the time for his release had finally come.
His small clone hadn’t fully conveyed his true nature. Tekeris thought he should thank the magical powerhouse Ouren, even though all he wanted now was to unleash his pent-up rage. Having been inactive for so long, he couldn’t tell how much his skills had dulled. He felt an overwhelming urge to destroy something to test his strength.
“…But I suppose I shouldn’t do that where Abyss is.”
Struggling to maintain his composure, Tekeris took a deep breath to calm himself. But he knew that if he laid eyes on an angel, his fragile restraint might snap. Ouren had claimed to have dealt with them all, but Tekeris doubted such a feat could be accomplished without destroying the facility.
“…I should go join them.“
Kicking at his oversized clothing, Tekeris began walking down the corridor to reunite with Abyss and the others. The place they were in was upstairs, so by recalling the memories of his body parts that had been used as samples, he should have no trouble finding his way.
Still, he hadn’t expected Abyss to come to his rescue. It had been a long time since his capture, he wondered how Abyss had fared. Though it seemed Abyss was just a clone, the fact that they were alive and well likely meant they had been getting along with the Oni. Tekeris chuckled, recalling the nostalgic memory and acknowledging that he would owe Atrac a debt of gratitude.
It was absurd that he had agreed to such a foolish proposal. Even though he had gone along with it, it had ultimately led to a positive outcome, though it had cost him some of his power.
“I was targeted back then, wasn’t I? Damn, and I was in the middle of raising kids.“
Suppressing the anger that began to rise again, Tekeris took another deep breath and continued down the facility’s corridor. He climbed the stairs and walked to where Ouren and the others were waiting. As he opened the door with a click, Ouren looked at him solemnly, while the small Abyss ran over to him.
Tekeris lifted Abyss onto his hand and placed them on his shoulder before raising his hand in acknowledgment to Ouren.
“You saved me.”
“I have a lot of questions for you. Will you answer them?”
“As a favor to my benefactor, I’ll comply. Besides, Abyss seems to be in your care.”
“That’s good to hear. But before that, I’d like to grab all the research materials from this facility…”
“You plan to do the same thing?”
“Of course not! If we wipe out the angels’ research facility and all its data, their research will be completely ruined, and the production of pseudo-skills will stop!”
“Ah, I see. My mind has dulled a bit…”
“And we need to save the humans who were used for their experiments.”
When Ouren said this and sighed, Tekeris spoke up in a serious tone.
“We should kill all the humans who were used in the experiments.”
“…What?”
