2-11. Restraining Attack

Bechinu continues to stare intently at us.

Although it doesn’t have eyes, this expression might not be accurate, but its face is turned in our direction.

Its ears twitch, grasping the surrounding situation.

It seems to know where we are.

Even though I can’t see now, I can sense where Bechinu is.

However, the crucial thing is that I don’t know the terrain, so I have to rely on Amariaz to guide me through it.

“Nearby, there are no trees. But there are two large stones rolling around. One is to Yuuzen-kun’s right, and the other is behind me. The distance is about five big steps for both.”

“Got it.”

I create a mental map, imagining the surrounding terrain. Since I can’t initiate an attack, I have to wait for Amariaz to move.

But it seems that Amariaz knows quite a bit about Bechinu. He knew its attack methods well. So, he should have some understanding of Bechinu’s behavior.

As I expected, Amariaz is cautious, observing the opponent’s movements. We could attack first, but doing so might lead Bechinu to use its blood magic. At this point, we shouldn’t make it think we’re in danger. It’s better to make it lower its guard, then counterattack to finish it off.

After all, Yuuzen is the only one who can defeat Bechinu. It has resistance to magical attacks. So, if it’s not a physical attack, we can’t defeat it. This is why Amariaz can’t defeat Bechinu.

My technique, “Exploding Fist,” should count as a physical attack. If it hits directly, Bechinu’s slender body should be knocked out in one blow.

(But… Yuuzen-kun can’t see now…! How do I bring Bechinu into striking distance?)

This is the most critical point in this battle. If Yuuzen can somehow corner Bechinu into a position where he can use the Exploding Fist, we can definitely win. Even if Amariaz does his best with magic, it won’t cause any damage to Bechinu. He can provide support, but it won’t be very effective.

(The air pressure sword counts as a physical attack, but swinging it with this small body won’t make it an effective hit…)

While thinking about that, it seems Bechinu has decided on its strategy. It lowers its posture, kicks off the ground, and swiftly approaches.

It seems to have decided not to use its blood magic. We managed to make it think it doesn’t need to use magic, so things are going well for now.

“Yuuzen-kun! It’s coming!”

“I know!”

I extend my hand towards Bechinu and shout a skill.

” ? Tsuta Nawa? !” (Ivy Rope)

Although the area is open, there are plenty of trees nearby. I heard the sound of leaves rustling when the wind blew, so I assumed there would be vines around here.

The vines detach from the entangled trees and fly towards us. They entangle Bechinu’s legs and lift it up, suspending it in the air.

But with just one vine, it might be able to escape. So, I gather more vines and wrap them around, making sure it can’t escape.

“Kyuaaa!?”

“Alright!!”

“Nice!”

I’ve completely restrained its lower body with vines, suspending it in the air. I didn’t expect things to go so well, but it’s better than nothing!

With Bechinu struggling, it won’t be able to free itself from the mass of vines. Nevertheless, there’s no such monster that gives up. It somehow manages to turn its upper body, facing us, and spews red liquid from its mouth.

“Wa!”

“Oops…”

It seems that liquid is Bechinu’s blood. Since the ejection speed wasn’t that fast, I successfully avoided it without any danger, and the blood adhered to the stone behind Amariaz.

It seems to have used a considerable amount of blood because the stone was smeared completely red.

Seeing this, Amariaz turns pale and starts running.

“OH SHI-!”

“Huh?”

“Kyuaaaaaaa!!!”

Bang!

The blood bursts, and the rock covered in blood shatters. The fragments of the broken rock are sharp, flying in various directions, leaving wounds on trees and the ground.

Due to the large amount of blood used, the power seems to be quite high.

Ping.

Amariaz, feeling an unusual sensation in his arm, quickly looks at it. There is a wound where the sharp rock grazed, a red line on his soft skin, and red blood is dripping from it.

“…This is bad.”
