- I Will Never Submit to Miss Grim Reaper
- Chapter 9 - Surrounded by Sweetness, Tears Welled Up
At half past four in the afternoon, I finally finished washing and drying my new clothes.
“Perfect!”
I shook the panties, which faintly smelled of lavender, in the air. I took off my oversized T-shirt, trying not to look at my girlish body. Swiftly, I put on the bralette and underwear.
Perhaps because of my current age, my chest hasn’t developed much, so wearing this kind of bra is very convenient. It’s similar to wearing a tank top, after putting it on, I just need to let the two straps hang smoothly on my shoulders. As for the panties, it’s even simpler than men’s underwear. After all, I no longer have that distinctive organ in a certain area…
Woo, just thinking about it makes me feel a pang of sadness.
Miss Grim Reaper, wait for me. I don’t know your abilities and secrets yet, so I’ll hold back for now.
Urban supernatural powers, right? Or is it a cross to another world? Or cultivation and immortality? What scene haven’t I, as a writer, seen?
What’s behind the Grim Reaper? King of Hell or Haruhi Suzumiya?
As the soft fabric gently adhered to key areas of my body, the “uneasiness” that had been with me since waking up completely disappeared. I took the light blue top and shorts, still emitting the scent of new clothes, from the sofa, put them on, tightened the small belt, changed into short socks, and slipped my feet into those cute little white platform shoes. After bouncing in place a couple of times to confirm that the new clothes were fine, I turned the brim of the hat of “Kongou” from the “Kantai Collection” behind and wore it in reverse.
Now I should be ready to go out.
At this moment, my outfit was that of a lively and pure young girl.
I was wearing a clean and simple short-sleeved T-shirt, with my arms looking fair and tender, and the exposed portion of my legs below my shorts was quite well-proportioned and slender. My skin was smooth and soft, devoid of any excess flesh, and my curves were beautifully graceful. Paired with clean white shoes, it was an indescribable cuteness.
If it weren’t for the long hair cascading past my waist in the back, I might even be mistaken for a boy.
Well, it didn’t really matter to be fixated on gender at this point.
I took my phone, room key card, and wallet, ensuring my phone had enough battery, then opened the door and walked out of the room.
“I have a little sister coming to stay with me for a few days, not sure how long. Just letting you know,” I sent this message via WeChat to the building management after closing the door to my apartment.
In truth, reporting or not reporting wasn’t a big deal. This apartment complex had a high turnover of residents, and people often brought friends, family, or buddies over for stays. Nobody really cared if they were drinking, singing, or having gatherings. Although there were rules requiring residents to report when bringing guests, in all the time I had lived here, I had never seen the management make a fuss over tenants bringing people in.
After all, those in management were just working people too. There was no need for them to make life difficult for residents. As long as residents didn’t cause trouble by bringing in a rowdy group, the management turned a blind eye.
Hmm… it felt like the whole world suddenly became much bigger.
I bounded down from the third floor and took a glance at my bicycle parked in the corner of the lobby. I measured the height of the bike seat and shook my head.
Many of the residents here used electric bikes for their daily commutes, and I was the only one who used the designated charging spot for bicycles. It was mainly because I couldn’t afford the cost of charging an electric bike. The electricity here cost 1.5 yuan per kilowatt-hour, and I couldn’t afford it.
Back when I first moved here, I thought the distance to my workplace wasn’t too far, so I decided to buy a regular bicycle for transportation. It would also help me stay in shape, and if I ever encountered traffic jams, I could just carry my bike and pass through.
Now, things had changed. After years of exercise, I no longer had my strong body, and my head had been severed. I had met quite a miserable end.
Looking at the height of the bicycle, I realized that I probably couldn’t even reach the pedals when I tried to ride it.
On the ground floor lobby, I stood on my tiptoes and attempted to sit on the bike.
“…”
I sighed quietly in my heart. Maybe I should just walk to the market.
Recognizing the unbridgeable gap between my height and this bike, I sighed internally and turned to leave the apartment.
Then, as I stood on the small road outside, I felt like I had entered a completely new world.
Even though the surroundings were incredibly familiar alleys and street scenes, the sky in May was clear without a single cloud, and everything seemed so ordinary. Yet, I had this “refreshing” feeling.
My vision was incredibly clear, as if a person with hundreds of degrees of myopia suddenly put on glasses one day, and the vast world suddenly became clear. I could see the birds flying in the sky, the advertisements on the utility poles, the vehicles on the distant road, and even the advertisements on the shops several hundred meters away on the opposite side.
I took a deep breath, and the fresh air filled my lungs, making me feel relaxed and refreshed, especially comfortable.
Ah… so this is what it feels like to be in a girl’s body?
The nearest market was less than 500 meters from my apartment. It wasn’t very large, but it had plenty of stalls. There were stalls selling fish, shrimp, clams, chicken, pork, beef, dumpling and wonton wrappers, as well as stalls selling cooked food like roasted chicken, duck, and goose. There were also various vegetables and fruits. If you didn’t have any specific needs, it was more than enough for most single working individuals.
Hmm, for today… how about buying a fish?
A smaller sea bass, steamed with some vegetables – perhaps Buddha’s hand melon vines or sweet potato leaves, stir-fried with garlic. With some leftovers from lunch in the fridge, it would be just right for dinner, and I could have some as a midnight snack if I got hungry later.
As I calculated what to make for dinner in my mind, I headed towards the direction of the market.
Perhaps because the little girl’s legs were shorter, and each step was relatively small, it took me nearly ten minutes to reach the market, which I could usually reach in about five or six minutes.
Unlike the market entrance, which was often somewhat deserted at this time, today, there was an itinerant cotton candy vendor for some reason.
Cotton candy, huh!
Instantly drawn in by the sweet scent of spun sugar, I curiously gazed at the small cart at the entrance of the market.
The cart displayed the prices for each kind of cotton candy—regular cotton candy for 3 yuan, colored for 4 yuan, and rainbow cotton candy for 5 yuan, with Alipay and WeChat payment options.
“Little girl, would you like to buy one?”
Noticing me standing nearby, the cotton candy vendor gave me a friendly smile. “You’re so cute! Are your mommy and daddy not with you?”
Uh…
I wasn’t sure how to respond for a moment.
Never mind that I was currently a little girl conjured out of thin air by the Grim Reaper. Even before that, I was an orphan.
All that aside, the main question was… should I buy this cotton candy?
Should I buy it? Should I buy it? It looks really delicious!
In the past, I had never been particularly interested in mobile vendors selling treats like candied haws, sesame candy, peanut brittle, or cotton candy, especially cotton candy. I felt that people who bought these things were foolish.
I mean, you could make a big cloud of cotton candy with just a tiny spoonful of sugar, and they were charging three, four, or five yuan for it. Why wouldn’t I just buy a big bag of sugar and eat that?
However, whether it was a change in my mental state after becoming a little girl or if this young girl’s body was naturally powerless against sweets, I found myself having trouble moving my feet right now.
Should I buy it?
But… even the lowest-priced cotton candy seemed quite expensive.
Three yuan could buy six to ten eggs, or two bunches of greens for two days, or several ears of corn and potatoes, or a big bag of rice. Besides, even if I wanted something sweet, I had sugar at home; there was really no need to buy this…
I hesitated for a whole minute in front of the vendor’s stand, but in the end, reason prevailed over my desires.
I decided against it.
It’s a critical time right now, so I need to save money where I can.
