I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship, so I Became a Space Mercenary - Chapter 430.1
Daily Routine
I was awakened by the sound of an alarm on my small information terminal. I still felt some sleepiness and tiredness in my head and core, but I decided to ignore it since it was mostly caused by me. A little physical activity and a shower would probably blow it away.
“Fuwaaah… Good morning.”
Mimi, who was sleeping next to me, seemed to have been awakened as well. The sound of her voice was so cute.
“You can keep sleeping if you like.”
“If Hiro-sama wakes up, I’ll wake up too…hmmm, okay. I’ll get up.”
Mimi’s face, which had been dazed and dreary, had now regained its luster. Compared to when she first boarded this ship, she seemed to have been sleeping well and had been waking up normally now. This was probably a sign that she had become accustomed to life as a mercenary.
I sometimes felt a sense of guilt that I had distorted the image that Mimi had been imagining about space mercenaries when I saw the changes in her habits. I knew that if I had not intervened when we first met, or even when I first saw her, her future would have been much darker, but I still felt that I had done something wrong.
Well, given Mimi’s great luck, she might have managed without my intervention, but…well, what the heck, I guess there’s no point in talking about possibilities at this point.
“First of all, a shower, right?”
“Yes! Let’s get cleaned up!”
Together with Mimi, who hugged me in her arms, we headed for the shower room. What a wonderful experience to shower with a big-breasted beautiful girl after waking up! My life has certainly improved since I came to this world, hasn’t it?
???
When I went to the cafeteria after a fun and enjoyable shower with Mimi, I found that there was already a person there.
“Good morning, you two.” (Elma)
“Good morning, Elma. I’m sure you had a good night’s sleep last night if you’re so active this morning, right?”
The one who was eating a hearty meal of artificial meat steak and potato salad made by an automatic cooking machine early in the morning was Elma, a silver-haired space elf, the pilot of the Antlion, the second ship of our mercenary group.
Contrary to her slender appearance, she was physically stronger than me. She was basically a gorilla in elf skin… though I should never say such things to her because she would physically bend my body over.
“It is fine. Drinking is life’s bounty.”
“Do take care or Dr. Shoko will get mad at you.”
From Erma’s reaction, it was clear that she had been in the care of a medical pod all morning. Dr. Shoko, who had recently become our ship’s doctor, was not a person who would give us too many details, but I suspected that if we gave her too much trouble, we would receive a good deal of complaints.
“Oh, good morning. I see that you two are already awake.”
A cheerful voice echoed through the dining room as Mimi and I received our breakfast from Tetsujin 5th, the automatic cooker. I looked over and saw a girl with red hair and a girl with blue hair – no, two dwarves.
“Good morning. Big Bro, Mimi-san.”
“Good morning to you too, Tina and Wiska. Having a meal as well now?”
“Yeah, we’re taking a break. We’ve been up for quite a while now.”
With that, Tina went to the refrigerator where the drinks were stored. Wiska walked toward us, perhaps to ask Tetsujin to bring out some snacks.
“We were told that we were going to be participating in a fierce battle soon, so I was checking the inventory of materials and fabricating back-ups for the worn out components.”
“I see. Make a list in advance of the supplies you’re likely going to need. We’ll get supplies at the Imperial Space Force’s supply depot.”
“Yes, I’ll take care of it.”
“Yeah, you got it. I remember Mimi also brought a lot of stuff with her, right?”
“Yes, I stocked up on the necessities that are often in short supply on the front line at the colony we stopped by along the way.”
The Reemay Prime Colony, where we were staying not long ago, was generally short of goods and the prices were high. Mimi was fired up when talking about shopping she did after we entered a different colony to stock up on luxury items whose prices tended to skyrocket on the front lines.
“All right, then. Let’s eat and work hard today, shall we?”
“Yes!”
