After having the other party repeat herself multiple times, Han Feixu finally let the realization settle in, “Yiyi…..is my daughter?”

“Her name is Han Nianyi, but her nickname is Yiyi,” Shen Sangluo lowered her gaze and studied the little girl in the photo whose smile was brighter than the adults in it. Shen Sangluo felt rather conflicted as she continued, “And looking at your expression, it seems that you don’t remember her at all. What to do….this child is very sensitive, she’ll know something is wrong.”

Han Feixu didn’t say anything. Her mental age is sixteen, yet her body is twenty-six. Now she suddenly learned she has a daughter. Of course she couldn’t digest this news in such a short amount of time.

“Forget it, you should go back first. We’ll talk more later.”

The car drove forward and stopped at an intersection. Han Feixu opened the door, but before she got out, she suddenly remembered a problem, “Ye Mingxin gave me some car keys earlier and told me to go pick up Yiyi. What do I do?”

Shen Sangluo asked, “She wanted you to go? But isn’t it the 10th today? Today should be her turn to pick up Yiyi.”

“She said she had things to do.”

If it was any other day, then Shen Sangluo would go and pick up the child, but she’s just too busy. She had already asked for a half-day leave earlier, but if she asks for leave for the entire day, her boss will eat her alive.

“Then you should go and pick her up. Don’t worry, it won’t be hard to recognize her. After all, Yiyi’s appearance is rather unique. Even if you don’t recognize her, she will recognize you. Bring her to my place after you pick her up.”

Han Feixu nodded dumbly and then got out of the car. However, just as her foot stepped out of the car, Shen Sangluo suddenly stopped her.

Shen Sangluo couldn’t hold back her curiously and asked cautiously, “You….don’t you think there’s something odd about Yiyi’s features?”

Han Feixu shook her head, “No, not really. Doesn’t she look a lot like me?”

Seeing that her friend was silent, Han Feixu asked her, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” Shen Sangluo quickly plastered on a smile and urged, “Hurry and go pick her up. If you go back too late, who knows what Ye Mingxin might do later.”

Han Feixu left after those words were spoken while Shen Sangluo drove back to her job at the National Radio and Television Administration. While waiting for the elevator, she took out her mobile phone and took a look. On her phone was the same photo from before. Shen Sangluo quietly studied Han Nianyi’s face and sighed. Han Feixu, the one she knew before the memory loss, had kept some secrets from her and so she didn’t know everything either.

After they had grown up and became adults, they had started keeping secrets from each other.

Ye Mingxin debuted at the age of 19, and by the age of 20, she had become famous all over China. She was four years older than Han Feixu, so when she had debuted, Han Feixu had just entered high school. Han Feixu was at that age where one easily becomes infatuated with another. And so Han Feixu’s heart was instantly captured after she had watched just one slice-of-life movie with Ye Mingxin in it and then became a die-hard fan of Ye Mingxin.

However, the current Han Feixu has only been a fan of Ye Mingxin for about a year.

Yes, Han Feixu is a fan but she’s not a crazy fan. It’s true that she admires Ye Mingxin, but if her best friend was telling her to stay away from Ye Mingxin, then she will do as her best friend says.

A star, who is someone far out of her reach, or a friend she grew up with and known all her life? Even Han Feixu understood which one she should trust and which one is more important to her.

Han Feixu returned to her ‘house’ and sullenly made her way towards the stairs. She needs to go pack up her belongings and get as far away from here as soon as possible. However, before she took more than a few steps, the housekeeper called out to her enthusiastically, “Madam, I’ve bought all the ingredients for dinner tonight! Would you like to take a look and go over them?”

Except when she was very young, Han Feixu has never had anyone speak to her with such a humble servant attitude. She uncomfortably took two steps back, “No, you can act as you see fit.”

The housekeeper hummed, “The young miss likes to eat matsutake, but there is almost no matsutake available during this season. However, I did buy some other mushrooms. When the young miss comes back, I will show them to her. With how cute the mushrooms look, she’ll definitely eat more. Ai, the young miss just loves cute and beautiful things, especially good-looking people. I wonder who’s personality she takes after with that strange preference of hers.”

Han ‘weak towards pretty faces’ Feixu: Ow, it feels like someone shot an arrow through my knee….

Han Feixu felt very nervous while she talked with this housekeeper. She kept thinking that the housekeeper will suddenly ask her something she doesn’t know about and then her amnesia will be revealed. But in reality, she was just thinking too much. The housekeeper is a servant and she is the boss. What kind of servant asks the boss personal questions?

Soon, the housekeeper returned to the kitchen and Han Feixu escaped up the stairs. She walked a little too quickly and as she was very unfamiliar with the house, ended up becoming lost as she stood in front of an unknown door. Actually, she couldn’t even remember which door leads to her bedroom. Relying everything on her intuition, she decided to open the door on the left.

The room inside is similar in size to her bedroom earlier this morning and even the furnishings are very similar. Han Feixu stood at the door for a long time as she tried to figure out what was different with this room from her own bedroom.

Three minutes later, she finally figured it out. This room, on a closer look, was much cleaner and tidier than her room.

After realizing she was in the wrong room, Han Feixu turned around and moved to leave but as soon as she put her hand on the doorknob, she thought about something. If this is not her bedroom then….

Then this is Ye Mingxin’s bedroom.

Han Feixu has always been taught to not mess with people’s things and to not violate others’ privacy. However, this is her idol’s room! She can’t help but want to take a look! So she ran her fingers over the furniture and snooped through the items on the bedside table.

A script, some documents, a half-empty bottle of whisky, a shot glass and two framed photos.

One frame held a photo of Yiyi wearing short pigtails while smiling at the camera, and the other frame held a photo of her and Ye Mingxin.

In this photo, she is not as mature as the woman she had seen in the mirror. The Han Feixu in the picture looked like she was in college and although her hair is worn loose around her shoulders, her eyes held the naiveness and inexperience of youth. She had an arm looped around Ye Mingxin’s shoulders, who stood beside her, and her head laid gently on Ye Mingxin’s shoulders. Although the her in the photo seemed shy and bashful, the smile at the corner of her mouth betrayed her true feelings.

The woman in the picture was smiling so happily.

Han Feixu picked up the photo frame. Ye Mingxin’s expression was blank and calm, but this calmness was gentle and warm unlike the cold and indifferent expression in the photo Shen Sangluo had shown her earlier.

The reality of her being married to her idol hasn’t sunk in yet. Then she was told she was getting a divorce and fighting a custody battle with her idol. But…but why are they getting divorced?

This question appeared innocently in Han Feixu’s heart. She never thought of herself as a participant in this drama, instead, she felt more like a bystander. As if it was not her who was getting divorced but another woman.

Han Feixu lowered her eyes. She’s sixteen years old, soon to be seventeen. She had already passed her chuunibyou stage, so she understood that this was not something dramatic like a transmigration, but simply a matter of her losing her memories. And those memories will come back to her one day.

However, she had lost those memories for apparently no reason and she doesn’t know when those memories will come back.

As Han Feixu wallowed in her melancholy, suddenly the door clicked open behind her.

Han Feixu jumped in surprise and she raised her head. The person who walked in stared back at her and slowly pursed their lips as they asked, “What are you doing in here?”

Ten years have passed, and yet no trace of it can be seen on Ye Mingxin’s body. Of course, that isn’t to say that Ye Mingxin hasn’t changed. In fact, she has become even more beautiful than before. Although Han Feixu liked Ye Mingxin’s face, she had liked her eyes the most. In the books, they have always said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. After meeting Ye Mingxin in person, Han Feixu had a deeper understanding of that saying.

She felt her heartbeat stop for a moment as she looked into those beautiful eyes. All the warnings Shen Sangluo had implanted in her brain vanished instantly as she was overwhelmed by the frenzy feelings of a fan meeting her idol.

Ye Mingxin shifted her gaze to the photo frame in the other’s hand. Her hands clenched and unclenched. She quickly walked over and pulled the frame out of Han Feixu’s hand. She used a little too much strength and Han Feixu didn’t react in time, causing Han Feixu to almost fall to the ground.

Han Feixu looked up in amazement at Ye Mingxin, not quite understanding why she was being treated this way.

Ye Mingxin pressed the frame close to her body, as if she was protecting it. She also realized she was a little forceful, but towards Han Feixu, she couldn’t speak any soft or consoling words, “Don’t enter my room again in the future.”

Han Feixu lowered her eyes. She understood she was in the wrong, but she didn’t come into this room on purpose.

“Understood.”

After saying so,  Han Feixu passed Ye Mingxin and walked out. Meanwhile, Ye Mingxin felt somewhat surprised as she didn’t expect she would get a response. She turned to look at Han Feixu, but the other had already left.

As if she saw something she didn’t want to see, Ye Mingxin closed her eyes softly. Then she lowered her head to look at the photo in her hands. The two people in the photo were both so familiar yet strange to her. They looked so loving and close to each other, so much so that it felt blinding to her eyes.

After studying the photo for a long time, she returned the frame back to its place on the table.

Han Feixu returned to her own bedroom and took out a suitcase. She first gathered all the documents lying around then some notebooks and certificates that Shen Sangluo told her to bring. However, since she didn’t know where all these things were, it took her a good hour or so to find them all.

Then she opened her closet, picked some valuable looking clothes and some plain-looking ones. She packed them into the suitcase and then made her way to the bathroom.

After packing up her daily necessities, Han Feixu, out of habit, began to look for her piano bag. The bag where she put all her music sheets in. After searching the room several times, she still couldn’t find it.

If she couldn’t find it, that means she didn’t have it anymore. With nothing else to pack, she proceeded to leave with her suitcase and then stopped. Han Feixu felt conflicted. Should she tell Ye Mingxin she was leaving? At least give her a notice?

She stood on the spot and pondered, but in the end decided not to say anything. Seeing Ye Mingxin’s attitude towards her, the two of them should have reached the stage where they were as incompatible as water and fire. She had seen many couples who were the same before they divorced, so her situation should be about the same.

Dragging the suitcase behind her, Han Feixu held those car keys from before in her hands. She couldn’t figure out who the owner of these keys was. Since Ye Mingxin gave it to her, it should be Ye Mingxin’s?

She placed the keys on a small table near the door and finally made her way out of her bedroom.

The suitcase she had packed was heavy. There was also a small little bump right in the area connecting between her bedroom and the hallway outside. So when she moved out of her bedroom, immediately the suitcase made a loud ‘bang’ sound.

Han Feixu froze in fright. She raised her head cautiously, but then seeing that no one had heard her, she continued to make her way outside. With a suitcase in one hand, a purse in her other, and a messenger bag slung across her shoulder, Han Feixu looked like a desperate woman who was going to try to illegally cross the border.

Looking down the spiral staircase in front of her, she stopped. She first placed her purse onto the handle of the suitcase and then adjusted her messenger bag. Then she lifted her suitcase off the ground. At least she tried to. Unfortunately, no matter how hard she pulled or how much strength she used, the suitcase would not budge.

…..well this is awkward.

She tried again and again, but still nothing changed. Then Ye Mingxin’s door opened.

And her gaze was very, very, very cold.

At that moment, Han Feixu wanted to go back to school and apologize to her principal and dean.

She was wrong, she was so ignorant before.

This is a real death glare. TAT
