With her wrist in her grip, Han Yiren couldn’t move at all but she still put up a token struggle, “I have nothing to say to you.”

“Doesn’t matter because I have something to say to you.”

Yin Jiahe possessed a pair of seductive peach blossom eyes. Even Han Yiren was hypnotized for a moment by her stair, but it was only for a moment. Then Yin Jiahe pulled her closer.

Han Yiren staggered forward and found herself in Yin Jiahe’s personal space. She quickly recalled the thinly veiled threats Yin Jiahe had said before and moved back with her feet in a pair of high heels with Roman straps. However, Yin Jiahe’s hands were still tightly gripped on her arms and she pulled Han Yiren towards her again. If Han Yiren wasn’t prepared for such an action she would’ve fallen onto her by now.

Han Yiren steadied herself and then raised her head to look at Yin Jiahe nervously.

The latter smiled slightly, “I said that I’ll let you go after you answer my question.”

Finding herself at a disadvantage, Han Yiren didn’t dare move anymore.

Yin Jiahe let a satisfied expression cross her face, “Be good and tell me who your backer is?”

Ye Mingxin has many well-connected contacts in all directions along with countless subordinates who help her do the dirty work. So after tracking down many clues and breaking through several layers of firewalls she finally found the source of the rumors to be Chang Hao. Yin Jiahe, however, fought alone and never even told Yu Tingxue anything, let alone seek her out for help. She was able to discover the clues and uncover the relationship between Han Yiren and Han Feixu by relying on her own investigative skills.

Therefore, although she could determine that the person who dragged her into the previous rumors was Han Yiren, she didn’t know who the actual person behind Han Yiren was.

Han Yiren stared at Yin Jiahe for about three seconds before she laughed, “Backer? Yin Jiahe, do you think everyone is like you?”

Han Yiren did not intend to mock Yin Jiahe with her comments, but rather irritate her and provoke her. A calm person will not reveal any flaws, and one is most afraid of dealing with calm people in negotiations.

Yin Jiahe’s question revealed that she didn’t know about the relationship between Han Yiren and Chang Hao and so Han Yiren felt relieved. It’s good that Yin Jiahe doesn’t know for if she doesn’t know then she still has room to wiggle her way out of this.

However, Yin Jiahe didn’t look furious at all. On the contrary, she seemed to be in an even better mood, “I never thought that way, but after being someone’s “lover” for so many years I’ve gained a particularly interesting skill. As the saying goes, ‘fish look for fish, shrimp look for shrimp, and turtles seek out other turtles’*. Since I’ve been kept and raised myself, I can usually tell at a glance whether someone else is too. You can call this ‘lover’s intuition’ or something.” (*T/N: This phrase means that people tend to seek out and associate with others who are similar to themselves.)

After saying all this, Yin Jiahe rubbed her forehead, “I’m sorry, it seems I have made a mistake. I may be someone’s kept lover, but you are not one. You’re more of a mistress, aren’t you?”

The word “mistress” immediately hit Han Yiren’s sore spot.

Although Yin Jiahe is being raised by Yu Tingxue, Yu Tingxue really does like her and has been with her for many years without looking at another woman. In a sense, they could be considered an actual couple. As for Han Yiren, Chang Hao often goes out with his wife and from time to time his affairs with some female stars or small-time celebrities get exposed in the media. Furthermore, Han Yiren firmly does not want others to know about this matter because of this. She doesn’t want to have this affair uncovered and then forced to wear such an insulting title.

Yin Jiahe sneered, “I can’t control whether a bit*h like you wants to become famous or not is your own business, after all, it’s your own business. But it’s not polite of you to drag me down with you. So let me ask you again, who is your backer?”

She paused and waited for an answer, but Han Yiren still seemed unwilling to comply. So she pushed Han Yiren away from her. With Han Yiren wearing ten-centimeter tall high heels, she immediately fell over and hurt her ankle from the sudden push. Yin Jiahe acted as if nothing happened as she continued coldly, “Can you take a guess as to what Ye Mingxin is doing right now? She and Han Feixu are very close friends, a fact you should already know. The words I’ve said on camera are for Ye Mingxin. She is much smarter than you and can understand everything in one sentence. After so long, she probably already figured out all of your little tricks. This is the first gift I return to you. If you still don’t tell me, then I’ll have to give you my second gift.”

As she said that she raised her right hand, casually twirling a ring on her right index finger. It was only then that Han Yiren realized that her ring was taken and she didn’t even notice it until now.

Then she slowly put the ring on her hand in front of Han Yiren, gracefully turning her hand around to show her the ring, “Does it look good?”

Han Yiren felt pale. She contemplated doing something to Yin Jiahe but then thought about Yu Tingxue. That woman was probably already in Yin Jiahe’s room by now and they were less than fifty meters away from Yin Jiahe’s room…

In the end, Yin Jiahe was finally able to get the answer she wanted and she took off the ring before throwing it in an arc at Han Yiren. Han Yiren caught it quickly and then left without saying another word.

Yin Jiahe rubbed her fingertips in thought, lowering her head as she muttered to herself, “Yu Tingxue is still the most powerful weapon I have ever owned. Even the very smell of her can make anyone’s face change.”

Her voice was quiet and silence rang out in the corridor for another two minutes before Yin Jiahe calmly raised her head and called out to the empty corridor, “Come on out. The play is over, so it’s time to come out and give a round of applause to the director and lead actor.”

“….”

Han Fieux and Zhang Hao both awkwardly stepped out of their hiding places. Han Feixu laughed dryly, “So you already knew we were here.”

Yin Jiahe snickered, “You hid behind the wall, but there is a mirror behind you that reflects everything. If Han Yiren had stood at my angle then she would’ve spotted you with one glance.”

After a moment of silence, Zhang Hao quickly explained himself, “I promise I was just hungry and just wanted to get a snack when I came across this by accident! I didn’t intend to eavesdrop at all!

Han Feixu followed closely after him, “Me too! I just happened across this by accident too!”

“Is that right,” Yin Jiahe icily stared at the two of them, “I was standing here for 10 minutes before Han Yiren came, so why didn’t I see you two until after we started talking? Why is it that when the first sentence was uttered I saw the two of you behind that wall? Why do I have a feeling you two purposely came here to eavesdrop?”

Han Feixu & Zhang Hao: “…..”

She’s quite a sharp one TAT

The room behind the wall they were hiding behind is a tea room. A room full of snacks and drinks. The two of them bumped into each other not on purpose at first, but after they did they cried and complained about how terrible Duan Weiyang was to them. Like a pair of siblings, they hugged each other as they cried over their shared suffering when Yin Jiahe suddenly appeared.

Ever since those photos were leaked, Yin Jiahe has been a little strange. Her words always made one feel as if there was a double meaning to them and she didn’t communicate with the other contestants except during filming. Both Zhang Hao and Han Feixu felt too awkward to come out so they planned to wait until Yin Jiahe left before going out so as to avoid any awkward meetings.

Then, after waiting for a full ten minutes, Yin Jiahe didn’t leave and they happened upon an even more embarrassing scene.

Thinking of what he just overheard, Zhang Hao felt like his future was as bright as the sun at 2 AM in the morning. That is, dark with no daylight to be seen = =

He quickly made up an excuse to leave before quickly slipping away. Han Feixu wanted to follow him, but she moved a step forward only to move back again.

Yin Jiahe watched them silently, not making a single sound no matter what the other two did. She only raised an eyebrow at Han Feixu when she saw she hadn’t left yet.

Han Feixu also stared back at her and the two stared silently at each other for a while. Then, suddenly, Han Feixu leaned forward slightly. She raised her right hand, and then beckoned to the other party to come over, “Come over here.”

“Come here!”

Yin Jiahe: “….”

Yin Jiahe gave her a look before finally walking over and sitting down at the coffee table in the tea room. Han Feixu told her with the tone of someone who has had a lot of experience, “There are many people outside and one can easily be overheard. This place is closed off and much safer.”

After all, Yin Jiahe’s conversation was overheard barely three minutes ago = =

Yin Jiahe remained taciturn in front of Han Feixu, but Han Feixu has long grown used to it, “When did you find out it was her?”

Yin Jiahe turned around and poured herself a cup of coffee from the nearby jar, “Are you referring to how I found out that it was Han Yiren who spread rumors about the two of us?”

“En.”

“I found out the day it happened.”

“….”

She’s sharper than pure 24-carat gold = =

Yin Jiahe raised her cup as she studied Han Feixu’s stupefied face, “You can say that my intuition is very good.”

Han Feixu blushed, “We’ve been investigating for more than a month and didn’t find anything. My agent has been investigating this entire time and has started suspecting that everyone is a possible culprit. She’s even considered the possibility that you were the cul;prit.”

Yin Jiahe smiled faintly, “Like attracts like, thus it is normal for someone as clean as you to not notice her. Although everyone knows that this industry is dirty, it’s impossible for one to think that a 20-year-old girl who’s still in college could do such a thing.”

Han Feixu stayed silent before asking another question, “Other than the rumors about us too, the Internet has been smearing my name with other remarks as well. Is she also behind this?”

“I’m not sure. Perhaps she is, perhaps she isn’t. However, I believe you should have an answer in your heart.”

Han Feixu fell silent again. Her face was expressionless and she seemed to be thinking. Yin Jiahe thought her reaction was pretty good, at the very least she didn’t seem to be sad. If she really did show any hints of sadness, however, Yin Jiahe would’ve rolled her eyes.

Feeling sad for someone you don’t know is one thing, but if one feels heartbroken over someone who has schemed against them….well, only a saint would feel sad for such people.

Han Feixu is of course not a saint. She’s not pure enough to think of only the good in people, it is only because she has too little experience with matters like these that she is like this.

Yin Jiahe thought her next question would be why Han Yiren would do such a thing to her. However, Han Feixu did not ask this and instead leaned over to ask with concern, “Why do you want to know who the person behind her is? Are you thinking of taking revenge?”

Yin Jiahe was stunned for a moment before she suddenly laughed.

Han Feixu wondered, what was so funny?

Yin Jiahe could only see. How could a 26-year-old be so innocent? Usually calling someone innocent as an adult was to mock them, but Yin Jiahe wasn’t mocking Han Feixu. Rather, she was feeling a little envious.

She is only 1 year older than Han Feixu, yet Han Feixu was much more innocent than her.

“I have no plans of revenge and after hearing who is backing her, I have even less motivation to carry out any revenge.”

Chang Hao and her are not on the same level. If someone is being nice, then they will call her Yu Tingxue’s girlfriend. However, if one ripped aside the fancy words, she is simply Yu Tinxue’s lover. If one wanted to insult her, then she is Yu Tingxue’s toy. How can a toy compete with humans?

Han Feixu noticed the self-deprecating tone in Yin Jiahe’s words and asked again, “But you still didn’t answer me. Why on earth do you want to know who is raising her?”

In front of Han Feixu’s relentless pursuit of the truth, Yin Jiahe hesitated. However, she felt that it should be okay to tell her, “Although I won’t take revenge, Yu Tinxue will. This is an inevitability. Therefore, I want to know who that person is and see if she really does have the ability to retaliate.”

Han Feixu blinked, “And if she does have the ability?”

“Then I’ll let her take revenge.” Yin Jiahe answered as a matter of course.

“And what if she’s incapable of doing so>”

This time Yin Jiahe didn’t reply. Han Feixu noticed this and asked, “Are you worried for her?”

Who knows why this sentence offended Yin Jiahe, but she narrowed her eyes and stood up abruptly, signaling the end of this conversation, “We still have rehearsals tomorrow. I will leave first.”

This fellow, moving to leave the moment someone says something she doesn’t like!

Han Feixu quickly called out to her to stop her, “Don’t leave! I still have something to say!”

Yin Jiahe turned her head but didn’t move to sit down. It was as if she was going to leave after listening to what Han Feixu had to say. One stood and the other sat down. The one sitting at the coffee table, had her arm outstretched and tightly gripped on the hem of Yin Jiahe’s dress before she finally let go.

Han Feixu whispered, “I will defeat her and avenge us both.”

After hearing her words, Yin Jiahe’s eyes moved toward her, but in less than a second, she narrowed her eyes again, “Why you?”

“Ah?”

“Why is it you will be the one to defeat her? Do you think I’m not qualified to beat her myself?”

……

If she was being honest, she really didn’t think Yin Jiahe could beat Han Yiren. Yin Jiahe’s acting skills were relatively mediocre. Her skills aren’t bad enough to irritate one’s eyes, but she couldn’t be considered a good actor either. Compared to Han Yiren, everyone knew what the outcome would be.

Han Feixu didn’t speak, but Yin Jiahe understood what she meant from her hesitation. Yin Jiahe glared at her, letting out an angry huff before turning around and leaving.

Han Feixu: QAQ, I clearly didn’t say anything!

Nie Kaiyuan had thought the episode they filmed in the mountains when the rumors of Yin Jiahe and Han Feixu broke out was the most awkward. Back then, the moment Yin Jiahe and Han Feixu appeared in the same scene together he would always awkwardly laugh. Thus, he originally thought there wouldn’t be any moments more awkward than that one. However, the filming of this episode proved him wrong = =

Just like how there is always a higher mountain higher out there, this time the awkwardness was even worse than last time. Fortunately, everyone was separated during their “training” for the final round so he would only have to face Yin Jiahe and Yuan Jize after the bomb dropped in last night’s campfire reveal. And the other members that were the source of said awkwardness were not here, so he felt a bit better.

They had three filming locations in total during their “training” with Nie Kaiyuan and his team being the most harmonious one as they pretended as if nothing had happened yesterday. The other two locations, however, were not as peaceful.

Ye Mingxin was training Han Yiren and Gu Zhigui. Ye Mignxin is professional enough to not bring her emotions into her work however Han Yiren does not have as strong of a mentality. Well, to be more accurate, it was more like she wanted to show others she was unaffected but in other people’s eyes, it looked like she was trying too hard and thus made everyone feel only more embarrassed.

Yesterday she acted naturally and hardly bothered Ye Mignxin, but today she would go up to her from time to time to ask questions. Her original intention was to mend the tensions between her and Ye Mingxin, but it only did the opposite and revealed what she wanted to hide. The more frequently she tried to patch things up, the more her lies unraveled.

While the awkwardness was so bad that it was about to jump out of the camera, Duan Weiyang’s side of things was different. She was working hard to motivate Han Feixu, “Move! Pay attention to your position! You can’t even do this, are you a crab? Except I’ve never seen a crab that couldn’t walk normally! Don’t bow your head! You must show the most complete side of yourself! Look, which role is there in this script that has a gloomy girl who always walks around with a lowered head? Each character is like a machine gun, they won’t stop until they kill their opponents! You have to show the same amount of spirit as them, otherwise, how could you hope to kill Han Yiren!”

Han Feixu: “….”

The other staff members: “….”

Duan Weiyang always got swept up in the moment when she was teaching people. Even now, her arms were frozen in passion in mid-air. Then she turned her head after a while as if nothing had happened and said to the supervisor next to her, “Please delete that last sentence during editing. Thank you.”

Ever since appearing on this variety show, Duan Wieyang’s popularity continues to rise. Fans said they have never seen this side of their goddess before and felt even closer to her. They even gave the title of “most genuine” in this entertainment industry.

However, sometimes being too genuine is not a good thing. Just like what happened just now. If they were live-streaming this, Duan Weiyan would’ve been sprayed to death by the bullets sent by her anti-fans = =

However, they couldn’t celebrate too early. Tomorrow night they will be live broadcasting, so if Weiyang blurts out something in the heat of the moment again…

Lord, please save us all TAT

Who knows if Duan Weiyang’s poisonous tongue method actually worked or not, but after being fiercely scolded by her Han Feixu actually seemed to have improved a lot.

Meanwhile, Nan Zhihan, with her bald head, plain clothes, and Buddhist beats, strolled through the three shooting locations and silently set up a scoreboard in her heart.

Indeed, in the end, Han Feixu is the person who can play the little white flower* character the best. (*T/N: Someone who is pure/charming on the outside, but is actually an evil queen on the inside)

In a certain sense, Han Feixu could be considered a little white flower herself. She endured hardships and much pain but still grew up with a strong personality. Of course, due to her amnesia, she has forgotten the two most painful things in her life and so it naturally accelerated the growth of her “I will face the wind no matter what happens” personality.

While everyone was busy setting things up or stepping up in their training, the two most idle people were Nan Zhihan and Ye Mingxin. The former was really idle with nothing to do as the script was perfectly fine so naturally she was not needed. Meanwhile, the latter simply didn’t care about her wards. Gu Zhihan didn’t need her help at all, and, away from the camera, Han Yiren avoided her like the plague.

Ye Mingxin popped in and out of Han Feixu’s training location from time and idly strolled around the theater for a whole week before bumping into Master Nan. She sat in front of Master Nan and said straightforwardly, “Give me a fortune.”

Nan Zhihan held a cup of tea in her hands, her eyes focused on the hot steam wafting from the tea, “I am not a fortune teller, so I will not accept this kind of business.”

“My family has a string of 108 ghost-eyed chrysanthemum-pear prayer beads. My grandmother got it from an antique dealer who gave it to my daughter. If you tell me my fortune, those beads are yours.”

Nan Zhihan looked up at her, “Don’t those beads belong to your daughter? It’s not good to take things from her so casually?”

“She is only 4 years old, as long as I allow her to eat an extra piece of cake she will happily give me those beads.

She would even trick her daughter out of her possessions, this person was entirely hopeless.

With this thought in mind, Nan Zhihan nodded quickly, “Deal, so what do you want me to divine for you?

….

“Give me the fortune of Han Yiren’s future.”

“That’s too broad,” Nan Zhihan frowned, “I am not one of those masters who can analyze someone’s fortune based on one’s birthdate and the month. I cannot see that far in the future, so can you ask a more specific question?”

Ye Mingxin remained silent for a moment as she thought, “Then look one year into the future. Tell me how Han Yiren is living then.”

Nan Zhihan did not reply. She held her chin in thought and then lowered her head. Who knows what she was thinking, but her bald head shines brightly under the 50-watt lights. So bright and round, the more one looked at it, the more their hand itched to touch it. It really made people want to give it a good rub = =

Fortunately, Ye Mingxin had an obsession with cleanliness and so she wouldn’t touch even a hairless head.

Nan Zhihan finally raised her head as she looked at her with crystal clear eyes, “Her life makes your teeth itch with hatred.”

Ye Mingxing was taken aback, “What do you mean by that? I asked how she would be doing, why would her life make me hate her so much that my teeth would itch?”

Nan Zhihan smiled mysteriously, “Why don’t you take a guess?”

With just one sentence, one could see how annoying she is = =

If she could’ve guessed, why would she have asked in the first place?

Nan Zhihan stood up calmly, “Your assistant has my address, so make sure to ask her to send the beads over later. I’m going to see how their practice is going, excuse me~”

Nan Zhihan ran away and Ye Mignxin also left after a while. Meanwhile, on the second floor in Jiang LingYuan’s office, Jiang Lingyan stood with Director Cheng and the producer of ?Barrier Lake?.

After listening to the producer’s long speech, Jiang Lingyan spat out one word, “Impossible.”

“I don’t care what kind of difficulties you are having or what sorrows you are suffering, I will not let you put your hands on my show.”

The producer comes from an upstart company, and so they have never dealt with Jiang Lingyan before. It was only after personally meeting with Jiang Lingyan did she understand why other investors said she was horribly difficult to deal with.

“Director Jiang, you also have to think about our positions too. After all, our two projects are intimately intertwined together so you…”

Jiang Lingyan quickly interrupted him, “That’s your business, and you don’t need me to deal with it.”

“But…”

“No ‘buts’!”

Jiang Lingyan slapped a hand down on the table and stood up abruptly. She gave the producer a glare that would frighten anyone into trembling, “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it now. This is my show! You don’t want to offend Chang Hao, but you should not want to offend me either. Chang Hao may be standing up for his little mistress, but all of you should know by now how quickly he changes mistresses. As for me, I plan to work in the entertainment industry until I retire!” She grabbed the contract the producer brought to her. With her chin raised, she glanced at Party A’s name on the contract with a contemptuous gaze, “It’s praiseworthy that your company has gotten to this level in just three short years, but is your boss willing to try their luck and see if I can get your company bankrupt within three days?”

The producer looked at her helplessly, unable to tell if she was joking or not. Meanwhile, Director Cheng silently sat to the side, not daring to enter Jiang Lingyan’s line of sight. Jiang Lingyan glared at the producer one more time before throwing the contract at his chest, “Take your things and get out of here. The broadcast starts in half an hour. If I don’t see you leaving on the security monitor in five minutes, I swear to god that I’ll have the security guards drive you out like a common thief! Do you want to know how my security guards handle thieves?”

The producer shook his head. Jiang Lingyan smiled a gentle and innocent smile, “First, they beat them up, and then….threw them out like a dead pig.”
