Han Feixu felt somewhat skeptical as she found the contact for the person named Liang-jie, called her and told her about her amnesia. Liang Zhu’s reaction was the same as Shen Sangluo: “Are you kidding me? How can a perfectly fine person suddenly lose their memory?”

She had to repeatedly assure the other party she was not lying before Liang Zhu finally believed her. She called Han Feixu to meet her at a restaurant so they can talk more privately. Liang Zhu arrived early when Han Feixu walked in. Han Feixu looked around for a long time before realizing that Liang Zhu was sitting at a table right next to her.

Liang Zhu stood up in shock, “My goodness, you’ve really got amnesia. How could you have even forgotten about me?”

Han Feixu looked at the strange woman who talked to her in an overly familiar manner and tentatively replied, “Liang-jie?”

It’s not surprising that she didn’t recognize the person, this Liang Zhu looks even younger than her! With a baby face and a height that didn’t even reach 160 centimeters combined with the light make-up on her face, she looked incredibly young! Her hairstyle was also the more playful short kind that younger people wore and she wore a loose white shirt on her upper-body with super short jeans on her lower body. If she said she was only twenty, Han Feixu would wholeheartedly believe her.

Although Liang Zhu has a good figure, her face can only be considered as a delicate sort of ‘pretty’. She stared at Han Feixu for a long time before saying, “Go inside, we’ll talk more in there.”

The two of them entered a private room and Han Feixu sat down in a reserved manner before giving Liang Zhu a general overview of her current situation.

She had forgotten ten years’ worth of memory and didn’t know what caused it either. What to do?

And she had to lose it especially during this critical moment when neither her divorce nor comeback has fully started yet. This timing was a little too horrible!

Feeling upset, Liang Zhu wanted to smoke. She took out a slender cigarette from her bag and lit it before taking two puffs and exhaling a faint fog. She narrowed her eyes and said, “Ye Mingxin hasn’t found out yet, right?”

Why was it that each and every one of them was so afraid of Ye Mingxin finding out?

Although Liang Zhu looked delicate and young, her words were full of experience and wisdom. She flicked some ashes off the butt of her cigarette and then sneered, “Do you even know what divorce means? In your eyes, does divorce only mean printing a certificate?”

When Han Feixu said nothing, Liang Zhu crossed her legs and sighed softly, “I can’t blame you either. Your memory and experiences have regressed by ten years. It’s already good enough that you haven’t been kidnapped and sold off.”

Han Feixu: “….”

Was that a compliment? Why does she feel so indignant then = =

“Let me give you some common sense. Listen, the first thing one does during a divorce is to determine the custody rights. You’ve lost your memory, which means that you are in poor health. Without a healthy body, how can you raise your child? Therefore, if your condition is exposed, the child will automatically go to Ye Mingxin. Second, a divocre means you must divide up the properties and assets. If I remember correctly, the only assets you had ten years ago were some saved up birthday and New Year’s money. Do you know how much in assets you have now?”

Han Feixu blinked and shook her head.

Liang Zhu had an expression that said ‘this old lady already knew your character was like this’ and continued, “From what I know, there are at least five different real estate properties under your name. Then there is a plot of land in the western suburbs, another plot in Qinhuangdao, and two more in the Philippines and France. Then add on all the antique calligraphy, paintings, gold and silver jewelry that are marketed at least 300 million, your stocks, your father’s patents, and your mother’s copyrights. In the end, I can’t even give you an accurate estimate as to how much they are all worth, but I’m going to guess around 3-4 billion. In addition, there are at least 200 million in savings and deposits which you either earned or inherited.”

Han Feixu stammered, “I’m so rich!!”

Although she knew that actors earned a lot, it should be impossible to earn this much! In only ten years, she became a rich woman with a net worth in the billions!

Liang Zhu looked at her speechlessly, “What are you daydreaming about? The little money you earned from acting is barely worth a fraction of your assets! Most of your money was inherited!”

When Ye Mingxin married Han Feixu, a certain someone in Ye Mingxin’s family felt that Han Feixu was not worthy of their family. In terms of assets, it was true that she was unworthy, but in terms of background, they were unworthy of Han Feixu.

Her family comes from a long line of scholar-officials. Her ancestors were all upright officials during the Qing Dynasty. Her paternal grandfather was the sixth headmaster of the Fude University and her paternal grandmother was the former honorary chairman of the All-China Women’s Federation. Her father may not be as illustrious as her grandparents, but he was an engineer at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and her mother was a member of the China Writers Association. Her mother’s books have earned a place in the history of Chinese literature and her mother was considered the representative of China’s 90s modern literature. Lastly, her paternal aunt is a tenured professor at the world’s top music school—Juilliard.

Even her paternal grandmother’s side of the family apparently used to be a bunch of big banking tycoons from Shanghai.

Of course, those in scholarly pursuits are not wealthier than those who focus only on business, yet they did possess a certain degree of wealth to leave for the younger generations.

The assets Liang Zhu mentions were only the ones she knew about. There could be more, but she wouldn’t know as Han Feixu did not tell her everything.

“Now that you’ve lost your memories, don’t even mention joint assets, you don’t even remember your pre-marriage assets. In that case, all your assets will go to Ye Mingxin instead.”

Han Feixu: “….” Wha, so miserable. The child flies away and the money’s all gone too.

“Lastly, the third thing you need to keep in mind,” Liang Zhu knocked on the table with her knuckles, “Since you don’t remember what happened in the past, Ye Mignxin’s lawyers will use this to their advantage. They will say that you had an affair or something similar to it and that you did not fulfill your obligations as a wife. Without your memories, you cannot refute them! This will drastically affect the final verdict!”

Han Feixu frowned, and Liang Zhu continued, “Ai, just what is this? If you have amnesia, you can’t go on the show either. I’ll have to tell them. What are we going to do about your future? If you want to get full custody, you can’t just have money, you need a well-paying job too! When the court deliberates on the final verdict, the judge will have to choose which one of you is the more suitable guardian between the two of you. From the current look of things, Ye Mingxin is clearly more superior than you, and by more than a few notches too!”

Liang Zhu tugged her hair wildly in frustration when suddenly she heard Han Feixu ask her coldly, “Ye Mingxin will say that I had an affair…..when we go to court?”

“….”

It’s over, everything is over. I was too swept away that I forgot about this!

When Han Feixu first debuted, Liang Zhu was her agent. Later, when Han Feixu disappeared, she didn’t say anything. She had other stars under her anyways and she didn’t need to rely on Han Feixu to make a living as an agent.

A few years later, Han Feixu found her again and said that she needed a comeback if she wanted to win custody over Yiyi. The ‘chill about everything’ agent Liang Zhu thought about it and agreed.

She had never quarreled with Han Feixu before when they worked together, but when she saw Han Feixu’s daughter, she almost broke their contract and asked Han Feixu to find a new agent.

At the time, the two of them were discussing her comeback when they went to pick up Yiyi on the way. When she saw Yiyi’s face, which obviously held traces of European or American descent, Liang Zhu was so shocked her cigarette almost fell out of her mouth. In front of the child, she was too embarrassed to ask, but when the child left, she immediately asked Han Feixu. Just who are Yiyi’s parents?

Her thought at the time was that if Han Feixu had cheated on her wife, then she would definitely not be able to win the divorce lawsuit. However, before she can even bring up the lawsuit, she suffered a violent storm.

Han Feixu’s face was so ugly and twisted at the time, she directly pushed Liang Zhu away and left. Afterward, she had to coax and placate Han Feixu several times before the woman let her anger go.

What happened last time left a psychological shadow on Liang Zhu’s heart. She was so nervous that Han Feixu was going to have another emotional outburst that she forgot to smoke her burning cigarette. However, although Han Feixu’s expression was very cold, she didn’t say anything else.

Liang Zhu felt aggrieved about her own cowardness. Her body finally relaxed after a long while and after thinking about it, she remembered the phrase ‘a dead pig doesn’t fear scalding water’ and added, “I’m just worried, aren’t I doing this for your sake? Yiyi is too easy of a weakness for them to expose….” (T/N:a dead pig doesn’t fear scalding water; an idiom that means that one knows they are in the wrong but doesn’t fear the consequences as they continue to push)

Now Han Feixu’s face was even darker, “What you’re trying to say is that I really had an affair?”

Liang Zhu could hear the winds before a big storm, “I….”

Han Feixu stood up abruptly and patted the table, “You had an affair! Your whole family had an affair! I would never have cheated on anyone!”

“Yes, yes, yes, I know, I know, how about you sit down first….”

Liang Zhu tremblingly stretched out her hand, trying to pull Han Feixu back down, but Han Feixu coldly brushed away her hand as she looked down at her, “Shen Sangluo told me you were one of our people, but I don’t believe it. If you can suspect me of cheating, then you don’t know me at all. Alright, that’s fine, let’s terminate our contract then. You said I’m a rich person, so I can afford the fees. Then I will go find an agent who does not doubt me or my daughter.”

…….

She had always thought that Han Feixu’s stubborn personality was shaped by her time spent with the wealthy and the entertainment circle. But as it turns out, she always had such a stubborn temper since ten years ago.

Liang Zhu wanted to cry but had no tears to do so. She hurriedly stopped Han Feixu who was trying to leave. There were no other agents at her level anyways, so Han Feixu’ wouldn’t be able to find another agent like her, but she still hurriedly shouted, “I was wrong, I was wrong! Miss Han, a great woman rarely stoops to pettiness and is magnanimous towards us lowly people! Please forgive me this one time, okay? Besides, you can’t blame everything on me. How can I not ask when…when Yiyi looks so much like a European or…an American! You also gave birth to her while you were abroad, so how can I not hold doubts in my heart!”

“It’s not just me, even Shen Sangluo wonders, it’s just that she doesn’t dare to say it!”

Han Feixu listened to Liang Zhu’s words and did not try to leave anymore. She turned around and looked at her with an unclear expression, “What about Ye Mingxin?”

“Ah?” Liang Zhu couldn’t react to the sudden subject change fast enough.

“That….Ye Mingxin, does she think the same way as you?”

Liang Zhu looked at her blankly. Han Feixu’s reactions suddenly turned on a lightbulb in her jumbled mind.

The current Han Feixu is equivalent to a sixteen-year-old. She has only been with Yiyi for two days, yet never once doubted Yiyi’s origin. It looks like Han Feixu had just believed that everything was proper and to be expected. If there was something wrong with Yiyi’s origin, wouldn’t she be the most shocked one?

The cogs in Liang Zhu’s brain turned and she finally thought of another possibility, “Han Feixu, do you have any foreign blood in you?”

She had never thought about this before, but now that she did, she remembered how Han Feixu was often praised as a western fairy in the past. Her sexy and charming looks were more like the westerners than the native Chinese. She was taller than most, paler than most, and her features were more three-dimensional than the flat features of the Han Chinese.

Then with Yiyi as the final piece of evidence, Liang Zhu finally understood.

It was all because Han Feixu herself is mixed!

She had only met Han Feixu’s parents and her paternal grandparents before. They all looked pure Chinese at a glance. Maybe on her maternal grandmother’s side…..or perhaps her maternal grandfather is a foreigner himself?

Hearing Liang Zhu’s question, Han Feixu didn’t feel like answering her at all. She was silent for a while before she asked again, “Does Ye Mingxin also suspect that I cheated on her and that Yiyi is not hers?”
