I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History - Chapter 505
505
“Not rejecting, you say?”
“It’s difficult to accept diverse values and problems. But that doesn’t mean you have to reject them. For me, kindness is something that doesn’t become visible, that no one realizes, and that fills in some small gaps.”
From the outside, my words and actions may seem to show that I reject Liz-san. But in reality, I never reject Liz-san’s ideas.
It was because of reality that the ideal shined. The same could be said for the opposite.
I never thought Liz-san’s way of thinking was wrong. It was just that it was incompatible with mine.
It was good to have my own point of view. I didn’t dislike people who were able to look at things subjectively based on the prevalent social ideas of the time.
I understood there are as many different ideas of justice as there are people.
If justice and power disappeared from this world, surely there would be no more conflict. …But I didn’t want to live in such a boring world.
“There are many people who have no idea that this is the greatest form of tolerance.”
“…but it hurts a lot when you get pricked by my thorns, doesn’t it?”
I smiled, looking like a villainess.
I didn’t want Gordon-san to see through me. Uncle Will was enough for me to reveal my innermost feelings to.
Gordon-san smiled softly at my words. I could feel no trace of the pressure I had felt earlier.
The oppressive feeling had completely disappeared, and he was back to the same atmosphere as when he had greeted me.
“Thorns are always pointed at yourself, even when they seem to be pointed at others, so please be careful.”
The composure that comes with being the chairman of the Auges Trading Company made me want to instinctively bow my head.
I think he had a kindness similar to my own.
“How did you find my test?”
“It was even better than I expected.”
The words that came out of Gordon-san’s mouth sounded like his true feelings.
Wasn’t that the highest praise of all…?
He continued speaking, looking at me with interest.
“It would have been easy for you to overpower us with the vast magical power you possess, Alicia-sama. But you chose to treat us as equals. I was expecting you to fight back with magic when I applied pressure.”
I couldn’t help but think, “That’s a good idea!” when Gordon-san said that with a smile.
But if I had fought back with magic, the negotiations would have broken down.
I was not that stupid that I couldn’t see that far ahead.
“There’s no point in overpowering your opponent with force.”
“I’d like those people who dislike Alicia-sama in the mundane world to hear those words.”
“Oh, that would defeat the purpose of me branding myself by risking my life.”
When I said that and laughed, Gordon-san blinked his eyes for a moment, then immediately let out a giggle and relaxed his cheeks.

This part hit deep, especially the line about kindness being something invisible that fills in small gaps. It reminds me of how, just like on a Snapchat planet, everyone has their unique orbit and perspective. We don’t have to fully align with someone else’s worldview to respect it. Just because values are different doesn’t mean they’re wrong it’s about coexistence, not rejection. Thoughtful message here.
