[Vol. 1] Chapter 23: There Are Still Many Good People in the World
On the road, Yinyue and Yuluo kept their distance from Fu Leiluo.
Fu Leiluo felt a bit annoyed, but he kept it to himself. After all, he knew he had to maintain his gentlemanly image outside, and as a gentleman, he certainly couldn’t conflict with two beautiful ladies.
However, this was as long as he had patience. When he lost his patience, he would tear off the disguise and reveal his true face.
Calculating the time, he should be starting his action soon, Fu Leiluo thought to himself.
“Help! Someone stole my wallet! Who will help me catch him?”
Suddenly, a woman’s cry rang out in the street.
Very good, it seems the plan has already started. All he need to do next is to deal with the thief and help the woman get her wallet back. When they see his heroic behavior, they will surely increase their favor towards him.
Just as he was about to act, an unexpected event occurred. A girl with a black cloak and a single ponytail suddenly appeared, and with one punch, she knocked the thief down and returned the wallet to the woman.
The people around applauded, and the girl, who did a good deed without leaving her name, immediately left.
Damn, how come his plan has failed again? Well, there are still quite a few people on this street, so it was normal for superpowered individuals to show up and do good deeds.
And this is just the beginning, there’s more to come. He didn’t believe there would be troublemakers later on.
“Help! Someone save me!” The girl cried out.
“Young lady, no matter how loud you shout, no one will come to save you. You might as well just obey me.”
Fu Leiluo saw the opportunity and approached immediately.
“Bold! In broad daylight, you dare to harass a girl. Watch how I…” Fu Leiluo’s words were interrupted.
Another girl with twin ponytails appeared, kicked the man away with one foot, rescued the girl in distress, and then left like the wind.
Fu Leiluo couldn’t believe it.
He originally planned to finish his speech, strike a handsome pose, and then approach again to win the favor of Yinyue and Yuluo. He didn’t expect someone else to come and cause trouble again.
Damn it, next time he won’t waste words anymore. He’ll just act directly, strike a handsome pose afterward, that should also help to win their favor.
The group continued to wander aimlessly on the street and encountered another girl. She was crying and pointing to a balloon stuck in a tree, seemingly because the balloon drifted up and she couldn’t reach it.
“Can you help me…”
Before the girl could finish, a short-haired girl helped her retrieve the balloon.
Fu Leiluo was really desperate.
Since when did Huihuang City have so many good citizens?
He couldn’t help but complain inwardly, ‘I’ve never seen you all so proactive on regular days.’
In the following encounters, he was still overtaken by others, and each time it was by different people. Fu Leiluo almost passed out from anger at these enthusiastic citizens stealing his thunder.
“Instructor Fu Leiluo, what’s wrong with you? You look really pale,” Yuluo said to Fu Leiluo.
“I’m fine. I’m an elite instructor at the academy. How could I not be able to handle a few laps outside?” Fu Leiluo forced himself to endure the inner pain and replied to Yuluo.
“I think Instructor Fu Leiluo must be feeling that there are many good people in the world, pfft,” Yinyue said, holding back her laughter.
Fu Leiluo felt like he was stabbed in the back when he heard this. ‘What do you mean I’m feeling that way? I’m about to pass out from anger.’
“Oh, really? Instructor Fu Leiluo?” Yuluo asked with a smile.
“Haha, yeah, seeing so many kind-hearted people, I am truly gratified,” Fu Leiluo forced a smile, but he clenched his fist.
Darn it, things couldn’t be this coincidental. Who was behind this, and why were they opposing him? It was just when he was trying to do something good.
“I’m tired of walking. Let’s go to the milk tea shop for some milk tea, and we can rest a bit,” Yinyue suggested to Yuluo.
Yuluo had no objection to this. As long as Yinyue stayed by her side, she was fine with whatever happened.
Fu Leiluo also nodded in agreement, foolishly agreeing to the girls’ request. At least for now, he couldn’t refuse the girls’ requests.
And so, the group set off for the milk tea shop.
…………
Meanwhile, on the other side…
“Long, you’re too quick! I almost didn’t have enough time to use my abilities to disguise,” Wei’er panted.
She had never used her abilities so many times in one morning before and almost exhausted herself.
“Sorry, I didn’t realize I was going so fast. I’ll pay more attention next time,” Long apologized.
Next time? Wei’er thought unless they let her and Nana take a few days off to go out together, there wouldn’t be a next time.
“Sister Wei’er, I brought you a drink,” Nana handed Wei’er a bottle of beverage.
“Nana is always the best to me. Let me kiss you.”
Wei’er tried to kiss Nana but Nana dodged sideways.
“Sob… Nana doesn’t want me anymore,” Wei’er covered her eyes, pretending to cry.
“Sister Wei’er, you big dummy, Sister Long is still here,” Nana said.
“But I want you!”
Wei’er acted like a child, rolling on the ground.
“Alright, Sister Wei’er, stop messing around. I’ll let you kiss me when we get back,” hearing this, Wei’er finally stopped.
“Yay!”
Wei’er immediately perked up. Nana just watched quietly from the side, used to Wei’er’s antics, sometimes finding them quite cute.
“You two have such a good relationship,” Long remarked, looking at the two in front of her.
“Of course! When I marry Nana one day, I’ll treat everyone in the Shadow Guards to a wedding banquet,” Wei’er said passionately, puffing out her chest.
“You silly Sister Wei’er, what nonsense are you talking about!”
Nana kept hitting Wei’er with her hands, feeling extremely embarrassed. She didn’t want to say such inexplicable things in front of others!
After a round of beating, Nana sat on the chair, silently cursing Wei’er for being a fool in her heart.
Wei’er saw the situation and didn’t bother her anymore. As long as Nana cooled down, she would apologize to her later.
Wei’er looked at Long with a mischievous smile and came to her side.
“By the way, Long, how far have you and Chixia progressed?”
The relationship between Long and Chixia had long been the subject of gossip within the Shadow Guards, but no one knew exactly how far their relationship had progressed.
Today, Wei’er would reveal everything for everyone.
“This…”
Long rarely showed an embarrassed expression. She had never been like this in front of others, which only further piqued Wei’er’s curiosity.
“Long, you wouldn’t want Chixia to find out about touching another girl’s hand during today’s mission, would you?” Wei’er started to play dirty.
Long didn’t expect Wei’er to play dirty with her. “Alright, but don’t spread rumors, okay?”
Wei’er nodded, assuring that she wouldn’t spread rumors, putting her mind at ease.
“Actually… we’ve already… been in bed together,” Long’s cheeks flushed red as she admitted, feeling extremely embarrassed.
Wei’er was greatly shocked by this revelation. She hadn’t expected their relationship to progress so quickly. She realized she needed to put in more effort as well.
“Who was on top?” Wei’er continued to inquire.
“I was on top during the first half of the night… and she was on top during the second half. Wait, why am I telling you this?” Long inadvertently answered Wei’er’s question, realizing she had made a huge mistake.
“It seems like Long still needs to improve her stamina,” Wei’er whispered in Long’s ear.
“No… please don’t say anymore,” Long’s embarrassment reached its peak as she retreated into the shadows.
“It looks like I need to work harder too,” Wei’er encouraged herself, determined to win over Nana as soon as possible.
