I'm Not the Young Lady's Dream Girl - [Vol. 2] Chapter 16
[Vol. 2] Chapter 16: Investigation
At this moment, in the living room.
“Sister Yinyue, are you okay? Did you get injured earlier?”
For some reason, Xueluo feels like something’s not quite right with Yinyue since she came out of the kitchen.
“N-no, I’m fine. Let’s just eat.”
Yinyue scooped some food into her bowl and glanced at Yuluo.
Yuluo just quietly ate her food, not saying anything. She wondered what she had done! She was so perverted.
If Yeming hadn’t shown up in time, Sister Yueyue would probably be lying in bed right now.
Xueluo wasn’t quite sure either, her sister seemed even more silent than before. Could it be that they had an argument in the kitchen?
“Xueluo doesn’t understand, huh?” Lily said proudly from the side, acting like she knew everything.
“Understand what?” Xueluo didn’t know what Lily was talking about.
“It’s nothing, just didn’t expect Xia Qiuxue to be so useless,” Lily sighed.
She had thought Xia Qiuxue was making progress, but it turned out she was so incompetent. With this progress, it would take forever for her to win over Xueluo.
This confused Xueluo even more. She couldn’t understand what Lily was talking about. And this had nothing to do with sister Xia Qiuxue.
“On another note, how long do you think they’ll be gone?”
Lily didn’t want to continue this topic. It wouldn’t be good if Xueluo kept asking her questions.
“According to the schedule, they won’t be back until tomorrow at the earliest, assuming nothing unexpected happens,” Yinyue said after taking a sip of the tea on the table.
Before dinner, Xueluo had already informed Yinyue about the whereabouts of Yinya and Xia Qiuxue. After hearing Xueluo’s words, Yinyue didn’t show surprise, it was something she had expected.
“From what you’re saying, Sister Yinyue, have you been to the capital?”
Lily had just finished wiping her mouth when she heard this and became interested again.
“I’ve indeed had the fortune to visit,” Yinyue replied.
In fact, not only had she visited, but her hometown was there, and she had even been to the headquarters of the Ability User Association. Looking back now, it was truly a chapter of her life she’d rather not revisit.
“That’s really enviable, neither I nor my sister have been there,” Xueluo remarked.
“Is the capital fun?” Lily leaned back in her chair, asking.
“Huh, Lily, you haven’t been there either?”
Yinyue was somewhat incredulous again. The young lady and her sister couldn’t go because they were too busy, with no time to spare. But someone like Lily, who had both money and leisure, hadn’t been to the capital.
“Well, compared to traveling, I prefer lying at home and reading novels and manga,” Lily said.
“Is that so? What kind of novels and manga does Lily like to read?”
Yinyue was curious about what kind of novels and manga Lily enjoyed. If there was a chance, she would definitely get Lily some related ones as a gift. After all, she had been staying in their villa for some time now.
“Well…”
Lily fell silent at this point. It seemed like she couldn’t just say it directly. She couldn’t possibly tell them that she liked Yuri novels and manga. If she did, Yinyue and the others would surely distance themselves from her, and that was something she couldn’t allow.
“Ahem, it’s not important,” Lily said, noticing the situation, and then she patted Bailian’s shoulder.
“Oh, by the way, I’ve given her a nickname for now, let’s call her Bailian,” Lily said.
“Bailian? That’s a nice name,” Yinyue said.
At this moment, Bailian opened her mouth, and Lily picked up some food from the table with chopsticks and brought it to Bailian’s mouth. Bailian didn’t hesitate and quickly ate the food.
Because Bailian’s hands were restrained, Lily had to feed her. Bailian enjoyed this, and even the corners of her mouth lifted slightly more than usual, indicating how happy she was.
Lily wiped a bead of sweat from her heart. She had managed to avoid revealing it. Speaking of which, she seemed to have left a collection of Yuri novels hidden in their room.
It shouldn’t have been discovered. If it were, she’d have a hard time explaining. She must find a time to secretly retrieve it.
At this moment, Lily was still unaware that her collection of Yuri novels had been thoroughly perused by Yuluo.
While the girls were enjoying their lunch happily, in a certain room, someone was feeling upset because they couldn’t eat.
“Darn it, what’s going on today? Not only was I bullied by a group of women, but even the target of my mission is nowhere to be found,” Lin Yunpeng slammed the table, looking at the food in front of him with no appetite at all.
“Young Master, please eat something,” Uncle said from the side, watching Lin Yunpeng, who was throwing a tantrum, feeling quite a headache.
“I’m not in the mood to eat right now. Let’s just call it off, Uncle. I need some time alone,” Lin Yunpeng leaned back in his chair, covering his forehead with his hand.
“This…” Uncle was at a loss for words for a moment.
Just then, the door to the room was opened, and in walked a man dressed in a cool outfit.
“Young Master, what brings you here?”
Uncle hadn’t expected the Second Young Master to come here, and he could already imagine the headache that would follow. Two brothers arguing was the last thing he wanted.
“I heard my little brother was being bullied, so of course I had to come and see,” he said, looking at Lin Yunpeng’s swollen face like that of a pig, unable to help but laugh.
“Lin Hongzhen, you’re here to laugh at me, aren’t you?!” Lin Yunpeng couldn’t sit still at this point. He stood up, not welcoming the arrival of this unexpected guest.
“Third Young Master, calm down,” Uncle advised from the side. If these two brothers started fighting, he would surely be the one to suffer in the end.
“Little brother’s temper is still as bad as ever.”
Just as Lin Hongzhen was about to continue mocking, his phone rang.
“It looks like I have to excuse myself. We’ll catch up another day, little brother,” Lin Hongzhen said, showing a disappointed expression before walking out the door.
Watching his second brother leave, Lin Yunpeng finally sat down. This guy, Lin Hongzhen, didn’t know what stroke of luck he encountered recently.
Lin Hongzhen met a master not long ago, and under her guidance, his strength has skyrocketed. He’s already halfway into the S rank, while Lin Yunpen haven’t even reached B rank yet. Why is that?
Outside the door, Lin Hongzhen answered the call on his phone.
“Teacher, is there something you need?” he asked politely into the phone.
“I’m just checking in to see how things are going,” a sexy voice sounded from the other end.
“Don’t worry, everything is going smoothly,” Lin Hongzhen replied politely to his teacher on the phone.
“That’s good. What are you doing now?” the woman asked.
“Nothing much, just went to see my little brother who was bullied by a group of girls. They said it was because of a silver-haired girl,” Lin Hongzhen answered.
“A silver-haired girl? Lin Hongzhen, investigate her for me,” the woman’s voice sounded again, but her tone was noticeably different from before.
“Alright, teacher,” Lin Hongzhen said.
After that, the call ended. Lin Hongzhen didn’t know why his teacher wanted him to investigate the silver-haired girl. But as long as he followed her instructions, he could gain more power.
