[Vol. 2] Chapter 24: Drawing Circles to Curse You

Lan Chumeng held down her short skirt, feeling careless for revealing herself accidentally. Fortunately, the other person was a girl, which made Lan Chumeng breathe a sigh of relief.

Yinyue wanted to express that she was originally a boy, but upon second thought, she decided against it. She figured she might be seen as crazy by the other person.

“Are you sure you’re from the Ability User Association?”

Yinyue couldn’t believe that the clueless girl in front of her was from the association. Could it be that the association was recruiting clueless people now?

“Of course, I am, but I lost my ID.” Lan Chumeng put her hands on her hips, stating matter-of-factly.

“You mentioned earlier that you were sent by someone higher up, right?” Yinyue asked.

If it wasn’t an issue with Lan Chumeng, then it was an issue with the leaders of the association’s branch.

“Yes, I’m just a poor, overworked employee,” lamented Lan Chumeng, emphasizing her misfortune as a mere worker.

“Then why did you come in again?” Yinyue noticed a blind spot. She hadn’t seen her come in, but she was already sneaking a peek next to her.

“Because I felt like there was something my superiors were hiding from me, so I came in out of curiosity.” Lan Chumeng explained.

“Is that so?” Yinyue pondered.

If what she said was true, then what was the chairman of the Ability User Association’s branch in Huihuang City up to? This was clearly targeting her. Could it be…? Yinyue thought of the worst possibility.

Sure enough, no matter the era, there would always be corrupt individuals like this.

“If that’s the case, then let’s lift the blockade on this space,” Yinyue said to Lan Chumeng.

“No, we can’t do that. If we remove it now, the leaders will find out, and we’ll get scolded for it later,” Lan Chumeng shook her head, refusing Yinyue.

“Then I’ll have to beat you up.” Yinyue drew the bowstring, ready to attack at any moment.

“Then please do it quickly. I have urgent matters to attend to.”

She didn’t know how her young lady and the others were doing now. Hopefully, they hadn’t encountered any danger.

“Alright, then hold on tight,” Lan Chumeng said.

As soon as she finished speaking, she activated her ability.

The environment of the surroundings began to distort.

They seemed to be in a separate, special space. Soon, the environment stopped changing, and they were now outside.

Yinyue didn’t bother with Lan Chumeng anymore. Right now, she needed to go back and find her young lady and the others.

“Wait, you haven’t told me your name yet?” Lan Chumeng called out to Yinyue, wanting to ask her name.

“We don’t need to know each other. Let’s just part ways here.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Yinyue quickly left the area.

Watching Yinyue leave, Lan Chumeng felt frustrated. It was too much, she didn’t even tell us her name. She had clearly introduced herself, it was infuriating.

Lan Chumeng squatted down and picked up an iron rod from the ground. “Damn it, I curse you with a circle!” Lan Chumeng drew circles on the ground, feeling like one wasn’t enough, so she drew several more, forming the Olympic rings.

She threw away the rod, annoyed. She should have drawn more circles. She stood up, tossing the rod aside.

Forget it, instead of wasting time, she might as well lie in bed for a while longer. It’s all that jerk of a leader’s fault, making her get up for a mission so early in the morning.

“But who exactly is that Miss Silver? To win against three A-rank ability users, she must be incredibly strong. If the higher-ups find out we let such a person go, will they be angry?”

But that’s exactly what we want. The Ability User Association in Huihuang City is already corrupt. Perhaps this girl can bring about unexpected change.

Lan Chumeng didn’t know why she was hopeful about Yinyue. But thinking about this wasn’t suitable for her. She should hurry home and get some sleep. Her own bed is the best place for her.

“I know a way to find Mom!” Yeming transformed into human form beside them.

“What method?” Yuluo asked eagerly.

“You need to close your eyes, Dad, and try to use your abilities to sense her,” Yeming explained.

Yuluo closed her eyes and began to activate her abilities, attempting to sense Yinyue’s presence.

Yuluo seemed to feel something. In the pitch-black space, there was a faint silver light flickering, indicating Sister Yueyue’s location.

“Everyone, please follow me closely,” Yuluo said.

Yuluo opened her eyes, now knowing Yinyue’s whereabouts. As long as they headed in that direction, they could meet up with Sister Yueyue.

‘But then again, why did I sense Sister Yueyue’s location? Was I a stalker before? All I can say is… well done, my former self,’ Yuluo thought inwardly.

Within the ruins of the once-grand villa, a figure slowly rose. Lin Hongzhen, his body battered and broken, dragged himself to a relatively clean stone slab and collapsed onto it.

“Damn it! I’ve been played. I’ll remember this humiliation, and next time, I’ll repay it twofold. I swear to the heavens.”

Lin Hongzhen looked up at the sky. Wait, what’s that?

There was a strange object in the sky rapidly descending towards them. As the odd figure grew larger, Lin Hongzhen sensed something was wrong. That thing was clearly headed towards him.

Lin Hongzhen tried to get up, wanting to dodge quickly, but his body was in terrible condition. It was troublesome just to move.

Finally, the strange object landed, creating a large crater on the ground. Lin Hongzhen wasn’t directly hit, but the impact from the explosion was enough to knock him for a loop.

“Ouch, it hurts. I feel like I’m dying,” a girl’s lament came from the smoke of the explosion.

“Who told you to land so fast? By the way, did you fly to the wrong place?” a loli voice chimed in.

“Impossible, I’m sure I didn’t fly to the wrong place,” the girl insisted she couldn’t have flown to the wrong place.

“Are you sure this is a villa?” the loli questioned the girl.

“Um, I can’t be sure either. Maybe we should ask someone,” the girl felt a bit unsure, after all, the surroundings didn’t really look like a villa.

“But look, there’s someone nearby… Oh! There really is someone,” the loli seemed to have spotted Lin Hongzhen.

Lin Hongzhen, who was slowly moving forward, stopped in his tracks, feeling a cold sweat. Damn, he was discovered so quickly.
