I'm Not the Young Lady's Dream Girl - [Vol. 2] Chapter 47
[Vol. 2] Chapter 47: Predator
A pitch-black spear pierced through the air, and in an instant, Dr. Cheng was pinned to the wall by it.
The metallic parts of his body were rendered immobile by the spear, making it difficult for him to break free anytime soon.
“You’re not her. Who exactly are you?” Lin Hongzhen stood up and began questioning Yuluo’s identity.
“Why don’t you take a guess?” Yuluo had no intention of answering his question.
“Then I’ll tear off your mask with my own hands!”
Lin Hongzhen used his special ability, his right hand began to transform, and then he charged towards Yuluo and Yinyue.
“His strength is nearing S-level. Be careful, Miss,” Yinyue warned Yuluo.
“I know, Sister Yueyue,” Yuluo replied.
Their conversation confused Lin Hongzhen. In his memory, Number Seventeen shouldn’t be able to speak. But Number Seventeen had just spoken, which could only mean one thing: this Number Seventeen was an imposter.
As soon as he finished speaking, the two separated. Lin Hongzhen focused his attention on Yuluo, deciding to deal with this unknown woman first. As for the fake Number Seventeen, he could deal with her later.
Seeing Lin Hongzhen choose to attack her, Yuluo smiled behind her mask.
With a wave of her right hand, the ground transformed, and a massive pit appeared in Lin Hongzhen’s path.
Lin Hongzhen gritted his teeth and leaped up, successfully avoiding the pit. However, in mid-air, he became an easy target.
A silver flash shot towards him, and Lin Hongzhen quickly reacted, raising his right arm to block the attack.
Although Lin Hongzhen successfully blocked the attack, he wasn’t pleased. As he defended himself, dozens of chains tightly bound him in mid-air.
Immediately afterward, dozens of silver flashes struck Lin Hongzhen, who was suspended in the air. Although these attacks didn’t cause much damage, they clearly infuriated him.
Concentrating his strength in his right arm, he used immense power to tear away the annoying chains.
“Hey, old man, how long are you planning to just watch?” Lin Hongzhen shouted at Dr. Cheng, who was still pinned to the wall.
“Aren’t I just observing the enemy’s data? I didn’t expect the second young master to be beaten so badly,” Dr. Cheng replied.
He pulled out the spear, which then began to dissipate—no, it was being absorbed.
“And also, my Number Seventeen turns out to be a fake!”
Dr. Cheng gripped his cane tightly, and the powerful force even caused cracks to appear in the metal. He was clearly very angry.
Dr. Cheng took off his white collar, revealing that beneath his clothes was not a thin body but rather strong, powerful muscles.
Who would’ve thought this old guy was quite into fitness, Yinyue thought to herself.
“Damn imposter, prepare to face my wrath.” Dr. Cheng removed his glasses and launched an attack on Yinyue.
Yinyue drew her bowstring, aiming at Dr. Cheng, and silver light swiftly flew toward its target. But as it approached, the silver light suddenly disappeared. What was going on?
“Hehehe, it’s useless. My metallic body can absorb supernatural powers. Your puny attacks aren’t even enough to fill the gaps between my teeth,” Dr. Cheng sneered.
‘Wait, did he just explain his abilities to the enemy? Villains always die from talking too much,’ Yinyue internally scoffed.
But now that she knew the nature of his powers, it was easier to deal with him. Yinyue extended her right hand, and her silver ring began to glow. A silver knight’s armor materialized in front of Dr. Cheng.
Dr. Cheng didn’t stop advancing. After all, no supernatural ability could harm him.
In the next moment, Dawn swung his sword, a sharp glint flashed, and before Dr. Cheng could react, his metallic arm had already been severed.
Why? Wasn’t this supposed to be a summoning ability? How could he be cut? Was his equipment malfunctioning?
That couldn’t be. He clearly perform maintenance and checks every day.
While he was deep in thought, Dawn had already placed the sword against his neck.
“Well done, Dawn,” Yinyue praised.
“To alleviate my lord’s worries is my honor,” Dawn replied with a simple knightly salute.
On Yuluo’s side, she had also successfully subdued Lin Hongzhen. Although Lin Hongzhen had more raw power than Yuluo, his lack of technique put him at a disadvantage.
Lin Hongzhen was the type who relied solely on brute strength and had not studied technique extensively. Thus, he quickly fell to Yuluo.
“Do you have any last words, Young Master Lin Hongzhen?” Yuluo pointed her spear at him.
“Hehe, I may have lost to you, but that doesn’t mean you’ve won.”
As Lin Hongzhen spoke, spatial distortions began to form behind him, indicating something was about to emerge.
Sensing something amiss, Yuluo immediately swung her spear, aiming to pierce Lin Hongzhen’s head, but she was a moment too late.
A spatial rift appeared, and a massive claw blocked Yuluo’s attack. In the next moment, the rift widened, and a gigantic supernatural beast emerged.
It had dark purple skin, and its overall appearance resembled a Western dragon, but notably, it had six eyes.
“This is… an S-class supernatural beast!”
Yuluo hadn’t expected Lin Hongzhen to have such a trump card. There was no time to worry about Lin Hongzhen now. The colossal creature in front of her was a formidable adversary.
The beast’s six eyes all fixed on Yuluo, and it roared, seemingly repulsed by Yuluo’s aura.
Its roar echoed throughout the entire base. Outside the laboratory, Yinya was in the midst of a fight, thoroughly enjoying herself. However, upon hearing the roar, her expression turned grim.
Oh my goodness, why is this creature here? It should be confined to the Misty Forest in the danger zone!
Yinya realized she couldn’t bother with these minor enemies anymore. She needed to get over there immediately.
Among the supernatural beasts encountered by humans, this one was ranked third. It had been named “Predator” by humans.
The reason for its name was that, unlike typical S-class beasts that stayed within their territories and rarely ventured out, the Predator was an exception.
The Predator usually resided in the Misty Forest within the danger zone and emerged at set times to hunt. It had destroyed three large cities, sixteen medium cities, and over a hundred small cities.
Countless people had died under its claws, including four S-class ability user. There was a time when the Ability User Association and the military collaborated to hunt down the Predator.
However, despite suffering heavy casualties, they only managed to severely wound it, forcing it to hide in the Misty Forest to recuperate for three years.
But once healed, it would still emerge from the Misty Forest to hunt at fixed intervals.
It shouldn’t be its hunting time yet. Why has it appeared here, and so suddenly without any prior signs?
“This is bad. I need to find Yinyue quickly.”
Yinya quickened her pace, moving forward guided by her instincts.
