I'm Not the Young Lady's Dream Girl - [Vol. 2] Chapter 50
[Vol. 2] Chapter 50: Support from the Dean
After a period of relentless bombardment, the once hidden base was now exposed to the public eye.
However, the appearance of the base had changed drastically. If Dr. Cheng saw what his base looked like now, his expression would surely be priceless.
Inside the headquarters of the Ability User Association in the Huihuang City, a blond man was pacing back and forth, looking extremely anxious.
“Do you really need to be this anxious, President of the branch?” A man sitting in a chair inside the office spoke up.
Compared to the busy others, this man seemed unusually relaxed, as if everything happening outside had nothing to do with him.
“Can I not be anxious? Headquarters issued a strict order, demanding me to hold back that monster at all costs,” the President of the branch stopped pacing.
“My Second Young Master, is there really no way for you to stop that monster?” He asked Lin Hongzhen, who was next to him.
Next to the branch president was Lin Hongzhen, who had recently escaped from Yuluo’s clutches.
After escaping from that base, Lin had fled to this place, hoping that the branch president could escort him away and explain the situation to the blond man in front of him.
If he hadn’t heard from Lin Hongzhen that he could ensure he wouldn’t be attacked by the predator, he wouldn’t have bothered with him at all.
“Only my teacher could do that kind of thing. I’m powerless.”
Lin Hongzhen could only ensure that he or the people around him wouldn’t be attacked by the predator. As for controlling it, that was out of the question.
That’s something only my teacher could accomplish. Who could have imagined that the predator, akin to a natural disaster, would behave like a pet in front of my teacher? The thought made Lin Hongzhen even more grateful that he had encountered his teacher and become her student.
But Lin Hongzhen couldn’t contact his teacher now. According to what she had said before, she seemed to be attending a meeting and didn’t have time for him at the moment.
However, before she left for the meeting, she had left him with a method to summon the predator. When he saw his teacher summon that colossal creature, Lin Hongzhen’s face was filled with shock and excitement.
With this, he was almost unstoppable in the world. The only downside was that he couldn’t control the predator himself, he could only ensure that he and the people around him wouldn’t be attacked by it. But even this was enough.
It was impossible to stay here any longer. Before long, this city would become a ruin. In the face of the absolute power of the predator, how could the Huihuang City, with only one S-class combatant, hold on?
He had already purchased the materials as instructed by his teacher and sent them back yesterday. Now, with severe injuries, it was too dangerous to return recklessly, so he came to the branch of the Ability User Association in Huihuang City.
He hoped that the branch president here could help him. In return, he would ensure that the blond man in front of him and his followers could leave Huihuang City safely.
Don’t give him that powerless excuse. He could see that the person in front of him simply didn’t want to help, especially considering that this thing was summoned by him in the first place.
At the thought, the blond man’s fist clenched even tighter. If it weren’t to ensure his survival, he would have punched him long ago.
“Don’t make that face. I’m also forced to do this, and the Lin family won’t mistreat you all,” Lin Hongzhen said.
Although he knew the other was angry, he remained calm because the initiative was on his side.
“Given the situation, there’s no other choice,” the blond man ultimately chose to compromise. Although power was enticing, it was worthless in the face of life and death.
On the now-ruined base, a massive figure was moving, and the predator roared, while the artillery fire had ceased.
Unable to confirm the whereabouts of Yinyue and the others, the predator decided to leave here first and find other humans to fill its stomach.
As it took flight, a giant sword came swinging towards it, hitting the predator’s wing and leaving a scar.
Looking up, one would see a famous twin-tailed girl standing in the sky, flying on a sword. She was none other than the Dean of Huihuang Academy, Bai Xiaotao.
“I didn’t expect Bai Xiaotao to arrive so quickly. She’s as reliable as ever,” Yinya said from behind a ruin, watching Bai Xiaotao in the sky.
She and Bai Xiaotao were friends. Otherwise, after learning about the crisis at the academy last time, Yinya wouldn’t have rushed over.
She reckoned that after knowing about her death, that girl Xiaotao must be hiding somewhere, secretly wiping her tears.
“Bai Xiaotao, is that the name of the Dean?” Yinyue asked.
This was the first time Yinyue had heard the Dean’s name.
“Yes, but never call her by her name in front of her, or the consequences will be dire.”
Yinya warned the girls behind her, her expression serious, indicating she wasn’t joking.
It was apparent that the Dean didn’t seem to like her own name. Yinyue inwardly chuckled at the thought.
“Put on your masks and don’t reveal yourselves,” Yinya said.
It was time for them to make their entrance.
The girls put on their masks and then rushed out from behind cover.
“Are there still survivors here?”
Bai Xiaotao was somewhat incredulous. After all, just a moment ago, she had witnessed missiles raining down on this area as if they were free.
She couldn’t fathom how they had survived, let alone remained unscathed.
Before Bai Xiaotao could dwell on it further, the predator locked onto her. It extended its claws, and with a sweep, several sharp blades of air were sent towards Bai Xiaotao.
Bai Xiaotao controlled the sword beneath her feet, continuously evading the predator’s attacks. The predator summoned mist beasts to besiege Bai Xiaotao.
Bai Xiaotao refused to back down. Under her command, thousands of swords formed from her ability gathered energy launched attacks against them.
Seeing this, Yinya immediately summoned her giant hammer. She had been worried that using her ability would reveal her identity to Bai Xiaotao, but it seemed she didn’t need to worry for the time being. It seemed unlikely that Xiaotao would pay attention to them again anytime soon.
Yinya dispatched mist beasts with each swing of her hammer, quickly reaching the predator’s back. At this point, the predator also noticed the people behind it. It swung its tail, sending a powerful airflow towards them.
Yuluo ran to the forefront, opening her palm. The direction of the airflow was altered by Yuluo’s manipulation, causing it to hit the debris beside them.
On the other side, Bai Xiaotao noticed that the predator’s assault on her had weakened. It seemed that someone was fighting behind it. Could it be the people from earlier?
After a moment of contemplation, Bai Xiaotao recalled all the swords and aimed them at the predator. In the blink of an eye, a storm of swords rushed towards the predator.
Dealing with attacks from both sides made it difficult for the predator to cope. Its movements seemed to slow down.
Things seemed to be moving in a positive direction, but was that really the case?
