I'm Not the Young Lady's Dream Girl - [Vol. 2] Chapter 53
[Vol. 2] Chapter 53: Decapitation
The playful banter ended. Now, they had to confront the colossal beast before them, a creature that had struck terror into countless hearts.
The predator flapped its wings, stirring up a fierce wind in the area. It opened its mouth, gathering energy with the intent to annihilate everything in its vicinity.
But they wouldn’t let it have its way. A giant spear pierced through the predator’s wing, exploiting the thin armor and weaker defenses there—a perfect weak spot.
With its wing impaled, the predator lost its balance. Its massive body plummeted heavily to the ground, causing the entire area to tremble.
“Miss, you’re safe! That’s such a relief.”
The familiar figure approaching them was none other than Xiao Chun.
“Xiao Chun, you went to see Him, didn’t you?”
Upon seeing the giant spear piercing the predator’s wing, Yuluo knew it wasn’t an ordinary weapon. It was likely a divine artifact. If that were the case, Xiao Chun must have met with the God of Death.
“…Yes,” Xiao Chun admitted frankly, without hiding the truth.
“What price did you pay?” Yuluo sighed and then continued to ask.
“Sorry, Miss, I can’t tell you that. But rest assured, it wasn’t a dangerous price.”
This time, Xiao Chun shook her head, refusing to answer Yuluo’s question.
“I understand. But next time, don’t act so recklessly,” Yuluo said, closing her eyes and addressing Xiao Chun.
“Thank you for your understanding, Miss.”
Xiao Chun raised her right hand, and the spear flew back from a distance. However, it seemed different from before, noticeably smaller.
“Is this the divine artifact you obtained?”
Yuluo examined the spear in Xiao Chun’s hand. The spear was primarily black with gold accents. The skull on it continuously emanated an aura of death. It was a weapon capable of piercing through an enemy’s life force.
“Yes, but I can’t fully control it yet. I can only use it one more time today,” Xiao Chun said slowly, evidently fatigued from the earlier attack.
“Understood. Wait for my command and use the artifact at the right moment,” Yuluo instructed.
“Yes, Miss,” Xiao Chun responded.
Meanwhile, Yinyue was deep in thought. Hearing what Yuluo and Xiao Chun said, it seemed they knew a deity and were keeping it from her. Damn, the Miss was hiding things from her. How annoying.
“By the way, where are Yinya and the others?” Yuluo asked.
“They are fine. We are tending to their injuries,” Xiao Chun replied.
The predator roared and rose from the crater, furious and in pain from the wound on its wing.
The last time it was this battered was during the siege, but this time it felt even more enraged.
The predator glared at the surrounding pests and decided to show them what happens when it is angered. The sky grew darker, and thunder rumbled continuously, as if announcing the predator’s wrath.
In the next moment, lightning flashed across the heavens, and countless bolts of furious thunder descended. When the final thunderclap faded, the area had turned into scorched earth, with almost all life extinguished in this onslaught.
“Have you had enough? It’s our turn now.” Just when the predator thought they had turned to dust, Yuluo’s voice echoed.
Just now, Long had used up all her energy and plunged everyone into darkness. The predator’s full-force attack just now had not harmed anyone at all.
Instead, it had exhausted most of its own strength. But because of the expenditure, Long fell into unconsciousness.
As soon as Yuluo spoke, the Shadow Guards sprang into action. All the Shadow Guards with control-type abilities aimed at the predator, successfully immobilizing it in place.
The predator roared in frustration, but it was futile. It clearly couldn’t break free from the restraints in the short term.
Immediately, others concentrated their attacks on the predator, various abilities striking its head.
Although they still hadn’t caused any fatal damage, the predator’s head scales showed visible cracks. If they continued, they might actually penetrate the predator’s defense.
However, the predator wasn’t so easily defeated. It wouldn’t allow itself to be defeated by these ants. In the next moment, it broke free from the restraints.
The predator extended its claws, ready to attack them, but then it suddenly stopped. Because behind them, there was something that posed a threat to its life.
It turned abruptly, only to see Xiao Chun standing there. In her hand, the spear had been fully charged, black mist swirling around it, seemingly foretelling the death of their enemy.
And this time, the spear was aimed at the predator’s head. All the previous attacks had only served as cover for this strike.
The next moment, the spear broke through the air, attacking its enemy, and the predator roared in anger. It used all its strength to try to stop the thing, but countless lightning strikes intercepted the spear.
The spear eventually pierced through the predator, but the predator did not die, although half of its face was now destroyed. Xiao Chun also fell down, realizing that she still couldn’t control this power well. As she fell into a slumber, she thought so.
“Rest assured, Xiao Chun, you’ve done very well. Leave the rest to us,” Yuluo caught Xiao Chun and said to her.
Yuluo handed Xiao Chun over to Wei’er to take care of, then turned to face the predator again. By now, the predator was in a sorry state, having lost its former majesty.
The Shadow Guards continued to attack the predator’s wounds, driving it into a frenzy, attacking wildly and irrationally.
“You truly are a monster. Even after such serious injuries, you’re still alive. However, your time has come to an end.”
“Let’s go, Sister Yueyue,” Yuluo said to Yinyue beside her.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment, Miss,” Yinyue replied.
Yuluo used spatial abilities to teleport herself and Yinyue into the air, directly above the predator’s head.
Yinyue drew out the Dawn’s sword, aiming it at the predator’s head, while Yuluo and Yinyue both grasped the sword.
The next moment, the sword enlarged dramatically and swiftly descended towards the predator’s head.
By the time the predator realized what was happening, it was too late. The giant sword pierced its head, and it didn’t even have time to let out a final roar before it died.
The predator’s massive body fell to the ground, and after its death, the silent sky returned to normal, and sunlight once again bathed the earth.
