In Place of Losing My Memory, I Remembered That I Was the Fiancée of the Capture Target - Chapter 2.2
The entrance ceremony is being held in the auditorium.
The person standing on the podium and sending greetings to the new students is Patrick, the student council president.
That’s right, this is where the third target character will appear.
I remembered it clearly.
This is the world of the otome game I used to play.
Why am I in a game world…is this reality or a dream?
What was my…Japanese name?
I just remembered it, so I’m still feeling hazy on the details.
I can only remember this game.
The title of the game is “I’ll Fall in Love with Your Eyes.”
The story is set in a different world with a modern European feel, and the heroine is a young baroness with conspicuous red hair who has entered an aristocratic school.
It is a Cinderella story in which she meets a boy of high status, falls in love, and rides on a palanquin.
There are three targets for her to conquer.
His Royal Highness Prince Leopold, the second prince.
Liam, son of the Prime Minister and son of the Marquis.
And Patrick, son of the duke and president of the student council.
…In other words, I, the fiancée of the target, am supposed to be the heroine’s rival.
I think only “my” name was mentioned in the game.
Patrick doesn’t get along well with his fiancée, and we rarely hear about her from him, nor do we see her even though we are all in the same school.
She may have been in the picture as a background character, but… in other words, she is a mob character in the game.
No wonder I didn’t remember the game when I saw my own face.
After Patrick finished his greetings, he looked around at the new students.
And when he makes eye contact with me, he smiles.
He was indeed the target of the game. His smile, with its fine eyebrows, elicited small high pitched screams and sighs from those around him.
In the game, we were supposed to be on bad terms, but now I think we are on good terms.
—I wonder if me losing my memory is something that is not in the game.
Speaking of the game, the morning encounter with His Highness and the others—that should have happened to the heroine.
Why me….?
…Don’t tell me that I ruined the heroine’s event?
I turn pale as I realize this fact.
What should I do…?
I quietly look ahead.
The red-haired girl sitting diagonally in front of me was indeed the heroine of the game.
We were in the same class, but since Theodore and I had stopped by the principal’s office, we had to move as soon as we got to the classroom, so I couldn’t check on her.
What if this really is a game world and she is supposed to be conquering His Highness or Liam?
No, maybe it would be Patrick.
But all three of them started out the same, and after a few events, she would have a choice of who to conquer along the way…
So, if the very first event didn’t happen…?
“Sister. You look pale, are you okay?”
Theodore next to me called out to me softly.
“Ah…yeah, I’m okay.”
“Really? I knew you came to the academy too early.”
“I’m fine.”
I smiled to my worried brother.
I’m pale for a different reason from what he’s worried about…there’s no way I could tell him that this could be the world of game.
“Next is the greeting from the new student representative.”
I was taken aback by the host’s voice.
———If I remember correctly, the person on stage here is the one who came first in the academic ability test before entering the academy… and, it’s indeed the heroine.
Incidentally, I was exempted from the test because I was repeating a grade, but was not sure if I would be able to keep up with my studies, so I was allowed to take it at home.
One of the reasons I was called to the principal’s office was to hear the results of the test, and I was told that although I had problems in some subjects, such as history and manners, I would be able to make up for them by studying at home.
I was relieved that I could somehow manage to complete the classes, but…to be honest, I am not really into studying as for now.
The heroine confidently read out the greeting in a lively voice.
—Rebecca Stefani, representative of the new students.
After she finished her greeting, she bowed, looked up, and looking at me with those amber eyes.
…Did she smile…?
It felt as if her well-shaped lips curved out.
