Sorry, I was really in the bad mood recently

129. Mari-nee and it’s Swimsuit when you think about Sea

As the voyage neared its end, land appeared ahead of the ship.

The land formed a bay where the sea was deeply indented, and several ships were passing through.

Worried that they might collide, a small boat came from the depths of the bay to guide us.

Thanks to this, our ship docked safely, and a sailor grabbed the rope thrown from the pier to secure the ship.

Afterward, just like when we departed, a wide plank was laid down, and as we walked off the ship, people dressed uniformly in white lined up.

The white clothes reminded me of the toga Zaggreus wore, but these were more form-fitting.

They resembled the traditional Gandoura worn by people from the Middle East.

However, they did not wear hats and had well-groomed black hair exposed.

“Welcome to Liberta, everyone from Caldia.”

With their palms facing us, they clasped their hands in front of their chests and slightly bowed their heads.

“Thank you for the welcome.”

The person arranged by the king for the negotiations returned the gesture.

Knowing this was the formal greeting of Liberta, we followed suit.

“Thank you for your hard journey. Although we have official duties waiting, please take your time to relax and recover from your travels. Your accommodations have already been prepared.”

We had spent our time on the ship looking at the sea and talking, so we weren’t particularly tired.

However, Mareus-san, looking weak but with a strong determination in his eyes, agreed heartily.

Ever since the journey started, Mareus-san had been suffering from seasickness, constantly throwing up overboard.

Surely, no one was happier than Mareus-san when the ship reached Liberta.

However, when he heard that our accommodation was on a remote island, his face turned pale.

A remote island meant more traveling by boat.

Mareus-san’ ordeal continued…

The island we were taken to had rows of impressive wooden houses, reminiscent of villa-style resorts in Southeast Asia, with the brown of the wood and the green of the plants blending harmoniously.

“”Wow!”” everyone except Mareus-san exclaimed in admiration.

We learned that this island was owned by Liberta and was usually off-limits to visitors.

Now, only our group from Caldia was on the island.

The splendid accommodations alone were overwhelming, and the exclusive use of a remote island was dizzying.

We were to share the lodging, and I was paired with Roulette-san.

Technically, Gils and Vel were with us too, making it four of us.

The interior had high ceilings, creating a sense of openness, and was adorned with colorful flowers, paintings, and sculptures, giving it a luxurious atmosphere.

In the middle of the room was a large canopy bed that could easily fit five of me.

…It’s just that the bed is huge, okay?

I’m not emphasizing that I’m small, alright??

Our luggage was stored in an item box, so there was no need to unpack.

Now, what should I do next…?

As I pondered, Roulette-san suddenly locked the door and swiftly closed the curtains.

The room, previously lit by sunlight, dimmed.

At that moment, in the narrowing light, Roulette-san’s glasses seemed to gleam mysteriously.

After closing the curtains, Roulette-san picked up something and slowly approached.

A chill ran down my spine.

“Um, Roulette-san…?”

Unconsciously taking a step back, I asked Roulette-san a question, but she didn’t answer.

Sensing something unusual, Gils stepped in between us. However, Roulette-san kept walking, slipped past Gils’ outstretched arm, and whispered something in his ear.

Instantly, Gils’ face turned bright red, and he froze.

“Gils!”

“Piyoyo!?”

Vel, too, was shocked, fluttering his small wings and patting Gils’ cheeks, but there was no response.

As I stood there bewildered, Roulette-san had already closed the distance between us.

She grabbed both my hands.

“Ma~ri~a~-Sa~n.”

“W-what is it?”

Panic set in, and I reverted to the polite language I learned from my part-time job.

Roulette-san’s usual gentle smile morphed into the one she wore in her “Queen of Destruction” mode.

“Since we’re by the sea, let’s get changed, shall we?”

I instinctively tried to escape.

My high dexterity should have allowed me to slip away like Houdini…but it didn’t.

I was quickly overpowered by Roulette-san’s strength.

From her grip, I felt a strong determination that said, “I won’t let you escape~.”

Oh, this is futile, I thought, quickly realizing I couldn’t resist.

I switched gears, honing my adaptability skills—though not by choice.

After some indescribable moments, I was finally changed.

The only saving grace was Gils turning his back to me.

Stepping out of the room, I found myself on a sandy beach.

The sun shone brightly in the sky, and the rays were blindingly bright.

The temperature was high, but the wind blowing from the sea was refreshingly cool.

Standing in the shade, the breeze even felt chilly.

I could articulate this because I was hiding in the shade of a palm tree, avoiding the sun.

All because…

“Come on, Maria-chan, don’t hide there forever. Come out and join us,” Kanna-san called, beckoning me from the sunlight.

Kanna-san wore a one-piece swimsuit with a pareo wrapped around her waist.

The fluttering pareo gave off an adult vibe, but the color was striking.

Both the swimsuit and the pareo were neon pink—painfully bright to look at. Not in a painful way, mind you, just intensely bright.

“But exposing myself like this…”

“Don’t worry. In this situation, no one suits that swimsuit better than you, Maria-san,” Roulette-san reassured me with a smile, lounging on a beach chair, sipping coconut juice.

Roulette-san wore a green bikini.

The fabric was minimal, showcasing her long limbs and curvy figure without reservation.

Her cleavage was deep, enough to make even me, a fellow woman, stare.

In contrast, when I looked down at my own chest, there was nothing obstructing the view down to my toes.

In a way, it was “deep,” but more like a cliff than a valley.

I know the term “slender” exists.

However, in my case, with my lack of curves and small stature, “childlike” was the most fitting description.

Ugh, even saying it myself hurts…

But, since I had already somewhat accepted my situation, it wasn’t that bad.

However, there was one thing I couldn’t understand. Why was the swimsuit I was given a navy blue, tight-fitting one that covered my entire upper body?

No, let’s be clear here.

“Why is it a school swimsuit? And how old is this thing!?”

To top it off, there was a white patch sewn on the chest with “???” written in bold black letters.

Not “???,” but “???,” which made me feel like there was a peculiar insistence on this detail.

It was embarrassing enough to expose my skin, but this felt like a form of bullying…

Seeking help was futile, Mareus-san lay in the shade, as immobile as a tuna at auction.

Gils was nearby but was desperately trying not to look at me.

By the way, his face was still bright red.

And what about Graham-san and the others who were supposed to be my guards?

“The Holy Founder in a swimsuit… and a school swimsuit, no less!?”

“The name part looks roughly handwritten, but it’s actually meticulously crafted to appear that way.”

“What incredible attention to detail. And it’s in hiragana, not katakana. I must commend this understanding!”

“My eyes, my eyes! They’re bursting with joy!!”

“This is too wonderful! Our happiness truly resides here!!”

They were crying like waterfalls and shouting.

I understood they were moved, but who could blame me for not wanting to understand any of this…?

Feeling dizzy from the scene, I touched the name on my swimsuit. There was indeed a noticeable texture.

On closer inspection, it was meticulously embroidered with black thread, carefully crafted to look clumsy as text.

Who would waste such skill on this…?

Looking towards the beach chair, I saw Roulette-san beaming, clearly proud of her handiwork.

I had suspected this when she made me change.

The swimsuit had numerous special features, and it fit perfectly.

But I think I can say this now.

“Roulette-san, you too, huh?”

Wait, why does that phrase feel so familiar…?
