136. Mari-nee and sharing the sea experience with the siblings

The trade negotiations were going to take a few more days, so we returned to the island, set a time for our next login, and logged out.

In the real world, it was approaching midnight. I went straight to bed and woke up the next morning.

After breakfast, I sat on the living room sofa and told Masato and Maki about our time playing at the beach.

I described the scorching heat of the white sand under my feet,

the refreshing coolness of the seawater,

and the vast blueness of the sky as I floated in the sea.

The sense of liberation, being embraced by the sea and sky, felt like a dream even now.

When I mentioned how Gils and I splashed each other with seawater and how Vel got swept away, both of them laughed heartily.

“As long as you had fun, that’s what matters! By the way, if you went into the sea, does that mean you wore a swimsuit?” Maki asked.

“Uh… well, yes, sort of,” I replied, hesitantly.

I really didn’t want to talk about that swimsuit.

I hoped they wouldn’t pry further, but siblings are always perceptive at times like these.

Maki immediately snuggled up to me, wrapping her arm around my shoulder in a clear signal that she wasn’t going to let this go.

Masato sat down opposite me, resting his elbows on the sofa table and clasping his hands together, ready to interrogate me.

“Be honest about what kind of swimsuit you wore, Onee-chan,” Maki insisted.

“This is part of our family duty, Mari-nee,” Masato added, his expression deadly serious.

I knew Masato was genuinely concerned about me.

But Maki… I know she’s just caught between her curiosity and desires.

My resolve to remain silent crumbled under their increasing pressure, and I had no choice but to talk about the swimsuit.

I managed to get Masato to stop Maki from actually contacting Yuuki-san, but I could see she wasn’t giving up on the idea. This felt like dealing with those persistent people from the guild… no way to stop it.

Resigning myself to my fate, I tried to calm my mind and let go.

But then, something nagged at me.

It was the memory of that enigmatic person who called himself Jade-san.

Thinking about him made me uneasy, in a rather unpleasant way.

He didn’t seem like a bad person, so why did I feel this way…?

Unable to express this to my siblings, I decided to keep it to myself for now.
