My Daughter Grew Up to “Rank S” Adventurer - Chapter 56.1
Take off your Dress, Remove your Hair Ornaments, remove your Makeup. [Part 1]
I took off my dress, took off my hair ornaments, removed my makeup, and changed back into my original adventurer’s outfit, feeling somewhat refreshed.
Gilmeña laughed in annoyance.
“Seriously, you gave me a fright. I was wondering what was going to happen.”
“I’m sorry, Gil. But I couldn’t resist, so…”
“Yeah, you’re right. It’s easy for me to tell you to endure, but you did a great job, Angie, and it made me feel hot-headed for my age. No, maybe it’s because I’m old? Fufufu.”
“Well, I can’t go back to Tornella soon, so I’m going to write him a letter. I wonder if father would appreciate it…?”
Angeline fiddled with the gold medallion around her neck, and Gilmeña chuckled.
“That’s right! I’m sure he’s going to tell you that he’s proud of you. I’d be happy to welcome him to Orphen if he did come, fufufu.”
“Muuu…”
Wishing that were true, Angeline folded her arms.
Gilmeña laughed and moved on.
“Well, I’ll go ahead and set up a room at the inn. But you don’t mind, do you? We can stay another night and depart in the morning, okay?”
“Nope. I like Lize, but I’m still not good around any other nobles.”
Angeline stuck out her tongue, and Gilmeña laughed in response before leaving the room.
After the ceremony, Angeline went straight back to her room, waving off the nobles who were flocking around her and asking her hand for a dance.
As long as she received her medal, she had no further business in the house. The soft bed was nice, but she felt uncomfortable.
It was just the beginning of the evening, and the music was still echoing in the hall and courtyard. It would probably go on until midnight.
She didn’t mind the lively atmosphere, but she preferred the lively atmosphere of adventurers drinking together.
Gilmeña left, and Angeline, now alone, sighed and looked around the room.
It had only been a brief moment, but it felt like an awful long time.
As she picked up her bag to check her few belongings, someone peeked out from the entrance of the room.
“Angie?”
Angeline smiled as she saw Lizelotte looking at her from behind the door.
“Lize, you’re here.”
“Are you leaving?”
“Un, thank you for everything… You’ve been a big help.”
Lizelotte came squirming into the room, then rushed out and hugged Angeline.
“Don’t go! You have to stay longer! I have so much more to tell you!”
Angeline smiled and crouched down to pat Lizelotte on the head.
“I’d love to, but I’m still not comfortable in a noble’s residence… I also said some bad things about the nobles at the ceremony.”
“That’s not a bad thing! Angie said the right thing! Even my father praised you, so don’t worry! That’s why… Stay with me longer…”
Lizelotte tearfully nuzzled her face into Angeline’s chest.
She was innocent and curious, and Angeline couldn’t help but love her, but she didn’t want to stay here any longer. The longer she stayed, the more emotional she would be, and in turn it would become more difficult for her to leave.
“Ahaha… Hey, take good care of your father, okay? Come visit me at Orphen if you have the time…”
“Angie…”
“Look, a crying face doesn’t suit you… I’ll see you again. Okay?”
“Un… that’s right! I’m a nobleman, I shouldn’t cry so easily!”
Lizelotte smiled and hugged Angeline again, who hugged her back.
After a while, Lizelotte seemed to have an idea and talked. She pointed to the Dress, that was folded roughly on the sofa.
“Oh, yes! That Dress is for Angie! You can take it home!”
“Eeh…? No, I’m sorry. And I wouldn’t have a chance to wear it again…”
“No problem! It’s a token of our friendship! See? See? You looked so good in it!”
“Um, Umu…”
Although she was not used to wearing a dress, she was certainly complimented by many people wearing it.
She also wanted to show it off to Belgrief. She wondered if he would be happy to the point of tears as Gilmeña claimed.
“…Un, okay. I’ll take it then, thank you.”
“Un!”
Lizelotte happily brought the dress from the couch and handed it to Angeline.
Angeline folded it neatly and put it away in her bag, then patted Lizelotte on the head.
“Then… I’ll be going”
“Take care! I’ll talk to you again!”
“Un… I promise…”
They hooked their pinkies together and smiled at each other.
