My Daughter Grew Up to “Rank S” Adventurer - Chapter 60.2
Hi, everybody. I have recently started a new novel called I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History. You can read it HERE.
The new house was large, but well, within his range. It was not too hard to clean, but it was not too small for five people.
The house had been built by immigrants from Tildis, with simple stone walls, wooden floors, and one large room. It reminded him of the house of his family home in Tornella.
However, there was no fireplace. Instead, there was a fire pit in the middle of the room, surrounded by carpets on the ground, and people sat directly on the carpets. The ceiling, therefore, rose gently like a dome toward the center of the room.
After walking around for the past few days, they finally found a room that was just right. It was a small house at the back of a residential area. It seemed to be a place where eastern immigrants used to gather, and there were many similar houses standing in the neighborhood.
It was only a two-month contract, but Belgrief and family were able to rent it without any problems, and since Angeline doesn’t have a lot of stuff, and Belgrief and his group don’t intend to settle down in Orphen, they don’t have much luggage. They are relatively unburdened. Without so much as an exaggerated move, they promptly changed residence.
As for Percival and the others, Belgrief was still unsure of their whereabouts.
Every day, staring at the small print on the paperwork, Belgrief’s eyes began to glaze over, and he felt like taking a break.
He felt as if what he was doing was pointless when he had nothing to show for his days.
It had been snowing since the morning, but as the temperature dropped, it turned to shivering sleet around noon, and the ground was so soggy that it seemed a chore to go outside.
Belgrief was spinning the woolen fleece he had brought with him from Tornella.
Ever since he came to Orphen, he always did this when he was bored. As the spindle spun, the fluffy wool twisted into yarn.
Spinning the yarn calmed his mind. It was as if I was thinking about something, but also as if he could do without thinking about anything.
Angeline had been helping me for a while, but she was so relaxed that she seemed to have fallen asleep, and now she was curled up on the cushion, breathing heavily.
He rewound the woolen yarn he had finished spinning, and Belgrief sighed.
Although the temperature is higher than usual, of course, the chill that emanate from the ground is still there.
Angeline squirmed around and muttered something to herself.
Belgrief looked at the bonfire in front of him for a moment, then suddenly remembered and tapped Angeline on the shoulder.
“Angie, Angie, wake up.”
Angeline squirmed her mouth, but eventually opened her eyes.
“Nnyu… Morning, Dad.”
“Yeah. Aren’t you supposed to be getting ready for the feast at Arne’s house tonight?”
Angeline sat up and rubbed her eyes.
“…I did. I fell asleep…”
“Haha, I didn’t wake you up because you looked so comfortable, but I guess we should get going.”
“Yeah, we should…”
Angeline stood up and stretched widely. Then she frowned, holding her hair into a large braid.
“… It’s crumpled. Dad, braid it.”
“Yeah, alright, sit down…”
“Hmm!”
Angeline happily sat down with her back to him.
After Angeline untied her messy hair, Belgrief braided Angeline’s hair again.
Ever since Belgrief braided Charlotte’s hair, Angeline had also taken a liking to it and asked him to braid it every day, it became her routine to have him braid her hair every morning.
Belgrief found it somewhat amusing to watch his thick-skinned hands weave through Angeline’s smooth hair.
“…Okay, it’s done.”
“Thanks!”
Angeline smiled contentedly as she stroked the softly braided hair. Then she went straight to resting her back against Belgrief.
