My Daughter Grew Up to “Rank S” Adventurer - Chapter 60.5
Hi, everybody. I have recently started a new novel called I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History. You can read it HERE.
Not knowing how much time had passed since then, the door of the small room opened. There was a thumping sound of something hitting the wooden floor.
Charlotte was the first to open her eyes and ran out. She jumped at the man who came in.
“Father!”
“Whoa!”
Belgrief held Charlotte in his arms.
“Did I interrupt something?”
“Oh no you didn’t, it’s evening now that Bel is here, isn’t it?”
“Yes.”
Belgrief nodded, and Qasim stretched, putting his mountain cap back on.
“How’s it going? Did you have a good rest?”
“Yeah, thanks to you.”
“Alright, that’s it for today. Let’s go home.”
It was already starting to get dark outside. The water droplets that had trickled from the roof in the morning, when the sun was shining, were now frozen into icicles.
The gray clouds that hung over the city since mid-afternoon were causing snow to fall, and the wind broke it up into small pieces, making it hard to see even as they walked.
Covering Charlotte with his cloak to protect her as she squirmed in his arms, Belgrief spoke to Miriam.
“Millie came over here, didn’t she?”
“Yes, she was wondering about Qasim-san’s practice, so she left Arnie in charge and joined us.”
“Is Angie already over there? She left a bit after noon.”
“Hmm, I don’t know. She probably went shopping with Arnie and is probably getting ready for the night, right?”
“Yeah, I guess.”
Belgrief exhaled into the air. It swirled into a white whirl and scattered in the wind.
Miriam seemed to have come this way out of interest in Qasim’s teachings, while Angeline and Anessa were probably visiting the market and liquor stores to prepare for the night. The weather had already changed from light rain to snow, and the temperature was dropping and becoming colder and colder. Walking around at this time of night, it felt like they were going to catch a cold. Belgrief wished he could go home now and start cooking and doing other things instead.
“It’s nice having only men around sometimes, isn’t it?”
Miriam giggled.
“Isn’t there something you can’t talk about with Angie around, Bel-san?”
“Hmm… I don’t know… I don’t really have anything to hide…”
Belgrief chuckled. It wasn’t that he had anything hard to talk about. It was just that he hadn’t been able to reveal everything about Mito.
Angeline was overjoyed that she had one more thing to look forward to back in Tornella.
However, he didn’t tell her that Mito was a mysterious being derived from the Demon King. Partly because he didn’t know how to explain it, and also because he wanted to avoid giving her any strange preconceptions.
But eventually, he will have to tell her.
It’s not that he is worried that Angeline will find out who Mito is and do something about it, but the truth is that he just doesn’t know when or how to break it to her.
Belgrief decided that it would be best to go back to Tornella and talk to about Mito when the time came. There was no point in wasting time in Orphen.
“Well then, we’ll be going from here…”
“Don’t catch a cold, you three! And don’t drink too much!”
Leaving Miriam and Charlotte in the middle of the road, Belgrief accompanied Qasim and Byaku down the street, up and over the hill, and around a few side streets.
Qasim held down his mountain cap and chuckled.
“I miss this… We used to walk around like this and procure all the tools we needed, didn’t we?”
“Yeah, we did. I didn’t have a good eye for magic tools, so you had to personally inspect them.”
“Yeah, yeah. But you had the best eye for things like powdered oil, insect repellents, and smoking balls.”
“Remember when Percy bought those cheap smokers and when we tried them out, and they didn’t produce any smoke…”
