My Daughter Grew Up to “Rank S” Adventurer - Chapter 61.1
Hi, everybody. I have recently started a new novel called I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History. You can read it HERE.
“Yes, yes! So, Percy walked over to the smoke ball, tilted his head, and it exploded on him… The look on Percy’s face at that moment was priceless!”
Qasim laughed in amusement, then narrowed his eyes sadly.
“…I hope I get to meet him.”
“Yeah… But I’m sure Percy and Sati are doing well. I’m sure we’ll see each other again, just like you and I have seen each other.”
“Yeah… I guess so.”
“Hey… Isn’t this the place?”
Byaku stopped them from behind, and Belgrief turned around to look. He was so engrossed in the conversation that he walked past their destination.
Seeing them hurrying back, Byaku sighed in exasperation.
“Get a grip, you bearded dads…”
“Sorry, sorry.”
Belgrief laughed bitterly and twirled his beard.
A two-story restaurant. It was furnished in Eastern Style, giving it an exotic feel. There were several red paper lanterns hanging from the eaves, shining brightly.
He wondered if the whole town would look like this if he had traveled to the east to look for Percival and his friends. He felt somewhat uplifted despite his age.
When he tried to open the door, it opened from the inside. The steam enveloped Belgrief and his friends. A few drunken men came out from the other side of the door, chattering about something unknown.
As they cleared the way, Qasim muttered admiringly.
“This place is thriving, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, it’s lively… Come on, we’re probably keeping Ed-san and the others waiting, so let’s go.”
Belgrief brushed off the snow and took off his cloak, curling it around itself as he looked around the restaurant, which was warm from the magic heaters.
There were numerous round tables lined up, with many drunks drinking and eating in a good mood. In front of them, serving girls in Eastern-style costumes were coming and going with trays in their hands.
Edgar and his friends were nowhere to be seen.
While Qasim brushed the snow off his mountain-top hat, he said.
“Oh, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to an Eastern-style restaurant. I went a few times in the Imperial City, Ira.”
“It’s my first time… It’s kind of strange, isn’t it?”
More than twenty-five years ago, when he was in Orphen, he was not familiar with anything in the East. There was nothing like this kind of store in town either at that time. He felt both refreshed and left behind.
Slightly puzzled by the exotic atmosphere, I told the clerk that I had a reservation and was taken to the second floor.
The second floor was divided into several sections by openwork partitions, giving it the feel of a private room. Even so, the place was packed with customers, and it was bustling with activity.
Edgar and Leonel were already seated, chatting lazily, but when Edgar noticed Belgrief and the others, he put out his cigarette and raised his hand, smiling.
“Hey, thanks for braving the cold!”
“Sorry, there’s a lot of snow…”
“No, no, no, I’m sorry to have kept you waiting too. Thanks for coming. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”
Draping his cloak over the back of the chair, Belgrief sat down.
Qasim took off his hat and twirled it around, then tossed it into a box in the side luggage compartment.
“Come on, I’m hungry. What do you guys have to eat?”
“Well, a toast for now. Sis, order.”
Edgar raised his hand and called the waiter.
“Give me some yellow wine. Make it hot. Byaku, you can’t drink, can you?”
“…I don’t like it.”
“Aye, four cups and a cup of tea. And five or six snacks of your choice. Anything else is fine as long as you include the seared meat and steamed fish.”
“You’re good at this, Ed-san.”
“Sort of. Well, I’ve been hooked on Eastern, or rather, Khi Thai food since I found a good place in the Imperial Capital, and I’m glad there’s a good place in Orphen.”
