My Daughter Grew Up to “Rank S” Adventurer - Chapter 61.6
When she woke up, it seemed that the sun had already risen, but there were thick clouds in the sky, so it was not bright. It wasn’t like the sun was shining brightly enough, but it was bright enough that she could tell it wasn’t night.
Angeline sat up and scratched her head.
Her braids were untied, and her hair was a mess from her sleeping habits. She wasn’t sure how much she had drunk last night, but she was sure she had been drinking a lot, and even though she thought she was awake, her mind was kind of hazy.
“Hmm…”
As she looked around, she saw Anessa, Miriam, and Charlotte lying there, breathing in their sleep. Cushions and blankets were spread out on the floor, and they were sleeping scattered. Empty liquor bottles and dishes were piled on the table.
Not wanting to get up, she sat and gazed blankly out the window, when Marguerite came out of the kitchen. She was so spunky that it was hard to tell if she had actually had a drink.
“Oh, Angie, you’re awake. Good morning.”
“Good morning…. Marie, you’re up early…”
“What’s up, you got a hangover? You’re so sloppy.”
“Don’t sound like General Muscle. Marie, you are a strong drinker.”
“Really? I’m fine. Oh, I made some soup. Do you want some?
“Uh… Thanks. I’ll have some.”
As she sipped the warm soup of winter cabbage and dried meat, she felt somewhat calmer.
Belgrief had asked her to join them for a drink last night, so she organized a girls’ night out, and while she was happy that Belgrief had asked her to join them, she knew that sometimes Belgrief wanted to have a drink with the guys without worrying.
Angeline smiled at her own filial piety. She had become a daughter who could control herself.
“Your father is so kind that when I ask him to do something, he overdoes it…”
“What do you mean, all of a sudden?”
“I was just talking about how much fun we had yesterday…”
“Hmm? Yeah, I guess so.”
“Did they have fun too?”
” Did they? I don’t really know what they talked about among all those old guys.”
Marguerite laughed and stretched.
After staying at this house on her first day in Orphen, Marguerite had been staying there ever since. The house was not too small for the three of them, and she felt comfortable living in the spacious Orphen with a friend close to her age. She was a good cook, and now she felt at home.
Angeline stared at Marguerite.
She had silky silver hair, slender limbs, and a face that looked like it could have been created by someone else. The Elven princess of the Western Forest is a beauty.
Angeline wondered if Sati, Belgrief’s former comrade in arms, was also this beautiful.
Marguerite shifted her shoulders a bit, perhaps uncomfortable with being watched all the time.
“… What is it, Angeline? I’m not comfortable with you watching me so much.”
“Hm, sorry… Hey, how old does an elf stay young looking?”
“Ah, it depends on the person. Some people start to get wrinkles after fifty, and some are still young looking even when they reach seventy. I’ve heard that it depends on the amount of magic power in the body, but I don’t really know either.”
Belgrief’s generation, so Sati must be in her forties.
I wonder what kind of person she is, Angeline thought.
Is she as beautiful as Marguerite? If someone like that became her mother, she might be nervous. Just as she thought that she needed to prepare herself, a big yawn came out of her mouth.
Angeline leaned back against the back of her chair, her eyes blinking.
“I think I’ll go home when Char wakes up…”
“Will you? I was thinking of going to the Guild.”
Marguerite rolled her shoulders and snapped her neck as if she had a lot of energy.
