“I don’t get it…”
A couple of days following the dome explosion, Pumpkin was researching the identity of the black stone that was retrieved back then at his home.
“Yeah…”
This black stone had a metallic shine and other metal-specific characteristics that would not be present in a stone, giving the impression that it was some sort of metal.
It could store and release magic power in a quantity that was unheard of for any other object, yet at the same time it was incredibly light, as if it was weightless, which was inconceivable for an ordinary substance, much alone an ordinary metal.
It was more prominent than a regular iron, by a wide margin in regard to its strength.
“The shape is like a piece of some weapon, but I doubt the shape is that paramount…”
As he prodded the black stone with his finger, Pumpkin observed it.
The black stone seemed like a part of some type of blade, with sharp edges and thin sections.
The scope of his personal knowledge, though, was very well limited to this.
Its hue remained the same even after being roasted over an open flame, and even after being crushed, its form barely changed. Injecting magic power into it will only be absorbed.
The equipment and expertise at Samsara Egg Village’s disposal were insufficient to address the issue.
“Sigh… it can’t be helped. If possible, I don’t want to rely on that guy.”
A unique wooden box was used to contain the black stone; it was designed to absorb magic power and moderately expel it. Following a brief exchange with Mizuki and the others, Pumpkin headed for Kunukihappy.

“Lowizc, are you there?”
“Welcome. Wait, you just came here the other day, and now you’re back?”
Lowizc first portrayed the notion that butter wouldn’t melt in one’s mouth when Pumpkin entered the “Umitsuki Stationery Shop,” yet after she discovered he was the only person inside, she reverted to her typical Lowizc behavior and answered as such.
“Oh, there’s something I’d like you to take a look at.”
“Hmm?”
Pumpkin then took out the box and set it down on the counter.
Lowizc cast the box a perplexed glance as if she could sense something in the magic power emanating from it.
“Can I open it?”
“Hold on a moment. I should probably close for the day, so let me go change the store sign and stuff.”
“Okay.”
Lowizc did something once she went outside, and when she returned inside, the door was locked tight.
She subsequently gestured with her fingers and uttered a few phrases, performing some type of magic over the entire store.
Yeah. Since Lowizc is going to this extent, is this a fairly dangerous thing? Even at this point, it’s already a disaster…
“Alright. Open the box.”
“Got it.”
He opened the box with Lowizc’s permission, displaying her the black stone that was within.
Lowizc’s cheeks began to twitch at the first sight of the black stone.
Ah, yeah. I knew it, this thing is a definite threat.
The expression on Lowizc’s face right now was the same look she had when the ribbon from Lean was handed to her. This was clearly a class 1 hazardous material that should be handled with caution.
“I’m closing it.”
“O-Oh…”
“So what exactly is this thing, after all?”
After closing the lid of the box, he asked Lowizc about the identity of the black stone.
Then Lowizc’s visage showed signs of gloom or indecision. It appeared as though she was contemplating how much of the information to reveal.
The expression on Lowizc’s face led Pumpkin to feel uneasy as well.
As Lowizc’s thoughts seemed to be coming together, she slowly began to open her mouth.
“This is a magical metal named… ‘Black Mystium’.”
“Black Mystium?”
“Oh, to name a few well-known magical metals such as mithril, adamantite, orichalcum, hihirogane, and apoitacara, but this one is quite exceptional amongst them. It is known among us Gods and our kin as a metal that does not exist in the world of nature and can only be created by a handful of beings.”
With her right hand on her temple, Lowizc continued to speak.
“Black Mystium is a magical metal obtained by processing the magical metal called mystium in a special way. It is as light as mist and has the ability to enhance the power according to its color but… more importantly, Pumpkin, where did you come across this?”
“Hmm?”
Tilting his head at Lowizc’s words, Pumpkin informed her that he had obtained the Black Mystium, or black stone, from the dome in Lean Forest.
“I see… give me the Black Mystium for a moment. I’ll check it out.”
“Okay.”
Lowizc brought the Black Mystium to the rear of the store after receiving it.
Several minutes later, Lowizc returned and her complexion had noticeably deteriorated.
“What’s wrong?”
“I said earlier that Black Mystium doesn’t exist in the world of nature and can only be created by a limited number of entities, right?”
“Yeah.”
“The truth is, because of the way it’s made, the Mystium line of metals has its creator’s particular characteristics. By looking at those characteristics, I can tell who made the Mystium and where it was made.”
“Uh-huh.”
“And as a result of my research, I found out who made this one…”
Lowizc clearly looked as if she was having difficulty saying this.
“The creator of this Black Mystium is known as the ‘God Devourer’. They are a veritable monster, the worst of all enemies to be faced with, devouring the world and God for their own strength. And if it is the ‘God Devourer,’ then there is a reason to create this thing.”
“…”
Lowizc showed a look of determination on her face.
“I didn’t mention it earlier, but there is an anecdote about the Black Mystium.”
“Anecdote?”
“The God who created it in the first place. Also, a certain individual who used a mace as a weapon, with the cooperation of a few other beings, succeeded in destroying a being that was thought to be immortal. And just as there is such a thing as a jinx, once a story is established, it can be reproduced under the same conditions, and so a certain power is hidden in the Black Mystium.”
“That power is?”
When pressed about the power of the Black Mystium, Lowizc closed her eyes once, then opened them, before divulging the power of the Black Mystium.
“The ‘Unruin Annihilate’ is a contradiction in terms: it destroys the immortal being that can never be destroyed. It is the last saving power for a God who has grown tired of existing, and the worst power for a God who has attained immortality and believes their glory to be absolute.”
In the exact second Lowizc told Pumpkin this, an inadvertent gulp caught in his throat.

T/N:
The English name, “Unruin Annihilate” given by the author sounds a bit strange. In the Japanese version one, it’s called Immortal Annihilation
