A pumpkin cloud, not a mushroom cloud, was emerging in Pumpkin’s frame of vision as he was being propelled so far away from the combat that the battlefield appeared to be the size of a pea. Incidentally, there were three hollows in the pumpkin cloud, but there was no need to dwell on that. It must be a side effect of magic.
Unless he returned to the vicinity, he would not be able to tell, but probably an oversized crater would have formed at the hypocenter.

Mizuki responded to his offer, stumbling as she slowly disappeared into the forest.
She’s staggering a lot and it’s making me worry… but since this is Mizuki, she’s probably going to be okay.
“I should go back.”
And he figured he should check the situation at the hypocenter and Maunpir Village at any rate, so Pumpkin soared over the trees and made his way to the hypocenter.

“It hurts… are you okay? Lowicz-dono.”
“Please refrain from worrying, for I am fine. President Kozo.”
Kozo Anjin, the president of the Association, was seated in front of Lowicz when she rose up and called out to him.
When looking closely, there was a slight amount of blood oozing from President Kozo Anjin’s forehead. It was likely that he had hit his head against a desk or something during the tremor that had just occurred.
“Well, it suddenly shook greatly…”
“Yes, I suppose so. Experiencing an earthquake of this magnitude is quite rare.”
Despite having a rough grasp of what had transpired, Lowicz responded by feigning ignorance while ascertaining what exactly had happened by using the magic of far-sightedness and clairvoyance in the direction to the east.
“Lowicz-dono. Please excuse me, but I need to put today’s transaction on hold. I have to assume command in order to stabilize the situation because of all the volatility.”
“No problem. I must return to my store to inspect the damage, and it is already late at night.”
“I appreciate your kind words. Then, excuse me.”
Following that, President Kozo Anjin left the room, and Lowicz left the building to go to her own store, “Umitsuki Stationery Shop.”
“Even so…”
When Lowicz looked at the eastern sky via the magic of farsightedness, what met her vision was a cloud rising from the ground that resembled a mushroom cloud, yet was distinct from one.
That cloud, the distinctive tremor that occurred earlier, and the fact that it was raining made it hard to tell, but the fact that there was a fight going on suggested that the source of the incident was the reincarnated figure in pumpkin form that had visited her store the other day.
“Sigh… This is causing me all kinds of trouble… even reporting work has its own set of troubles…”
After opening the door of “Umitsuki Stationery Shop,” which was somewhat unstable due to the shaking, she entered the private room through the store section where there was not a single piece of trash lying around and poked the forehead of a jellyfish-type doll on the shelf.

As soon as the jellyfish-shaped doll was connected to a location that was not of this world, an announcement was issued in a clerical, mechanical, inflectionless voice.
“This is Lowicz on assignment to the R05-I14-C01 world. The password is [Pretty and Ki?Akki?a]. Please connect to the Intelligence Division.”
[Confirming in progress, verifying in progress, linking in progress, yes. This is Spine from the Intelligence Division.]
When she entered the password into the jellyfish-shaped doll, the communication with the desired party was established as she changed from the standard clothing of the world she was in to her favorite magical girl’s attire.
“This is Lowicz. I have something urgent to report, which is why I’ve connected to you. I’m sending you the data now.”
After inserting a storage medium with a collection of data into the jellyfish-shaped doll, the data was sent to Spine.
[Which one… fourth-class destructive magic, R05-I14-C01 world, do you mean the God of Destruction was the one who invoked it?]
“No, the aboriginals unleashed it. The specifics will be sent to you in the regular report, but it was quite formidable.”
[Hmm. Does that mean a new god is one step away from being born?]
“Unless they’re a special race like us, though, they’ve got a long way to go.”
[That’s for sure.]
With the laughter of Spine being heard on the other end of the communication, Lowizc held a self-made fancy stick in her hand and struck a few decisive poses as she began to watch her favorite video on the large screen.
“Speaking of which, where’s the president?”
[Went out a little while ago… [Meowaaaaaah!] [Let me do the programming!]]
“…”
[…You’re back. Wait, one of the missing girls from ‘Tower’ has been brought by Programm. What the hell happened? Let me go check it out. Well then, don’t forget to report in on time and be careful not to expose your true identity… The communication will be cut off.]
“Sigh… even without being told, I know what to do.”
And off she went to start enjoying the images playing on the large screen while racking her brain briefly as to how to put together a formal report.

The author’s note is referring to the missing girl from “Tower” and Programm. They are characters that made their appearances in the second Outer World Story series. Those who read that series will immediately know who they are.
Fun fact: Lowicz is a girl and she uses ?, a female pronoun in outward conversation but she uses ?, a male pronoun inwardly and in her personal conversation with Spine. And her name is ????? in the raw. Ignoring the ? katakana, ???? means witch, a reference to her liking witches or something as mentioned above changing into magical girl’s clothing. And according to the author, “There’s almost no chance of her appearing in the serious part of the novel! Because when she’s present, there’s a 99% chance she’s going to be a gag!”
