By this time, Xiaowang’s fever had gone down and he was sleeping soundly.

Lin Lan’s heart was completely relieved before she could finally keep her attention on the other kids. After an entire night of restlessness, they were all exhausted. She hurriedly said, “Go to bed now, what are you doing here? There’s no use even if you worry about him and forgo rest.”

When Erwang and Maisui saw that Xiaowang’s fever had really subsided, they were very happy as they went back to the east room without delaying their parents’ rest.

Dawang also carried Sanwang back. Sanwang clung to the door frame and refused to leave, staring at Xiaowang who was still on the kang.

Lin Lan saw that Sanwang hadn’t said a word that night and was as depressed as one could be. She had been busy with Xiaowang and hadn’t paid much attention to him. Looking at him now, she just wanted to comfort him. After all, he was only an 8-year-old child. It wouldn’t be good if this incident left a traumatic impression on him.

She walked over, took Sanwang’s hand and sat down in the main room as she rubbed his head, “Okay, Xiaowang is fine, don’t be afraid,” Seeing that Sanwang looked guilty and remorseful, she wanted him to not freak out and have a good night’s rest.

Sanwang lowered his head slightly, not daring to look at her and not wanting to leave.

Lin Lan thought that he might be worried about Xiaowang and was afraid of being beaten, so she smiled and said, “Go to bed quickly, your brother is fine. However, punishments will be faced after making mistakes, so remember that you shouldn’t escape.”

He also told Dawang that if Sanwang had a nightmare or something, just pat him a little and wake him up if nothing else worked.

Dawang nodded and took Sanwang away.

After the children had left, Lin Lan realised that she was so exhausted that all she really wanted to do was to lean on the door frame and take a break. She knew that she was overthinking, which had frightened herself and indirectly made the children nervous. This was just like Googling illnesses— with one search, almost every symptom led to a terminal illness, so it’s pretty terrifying.

Han Qingsong glanced at her, got down to the ground and carried her onto the kang. Lin Lan leaned in his arms, “I’m scared to death every day,” From Sanwang and Xiaowang falling into the water, to Dawang settling that debt and Xiaowang having a fever, she felt overwhelmed. She took a deep breath and patted Han Qingsong’s chest, “Let’s get some sleep too, we’re too tired.”

Han Qingsong didn’t move as he just looked at her intently.

Only then did Lin Lan feel that something was wrong with him. When she looked into his eyes, she actually could tell that he felt a bit aggrieved.
