Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 654
Yanyan saw Maisui being so generous and said happily, “Thank you for not being angry. We can play together in the future.”
Maisui smiled and said, “Of course.”
Caihua watched Sanwang and Xiaowang draw. Once Xiaowang was obsessed with something, he would ignore others entirely and so, he didn’t hear her greetings. She also saw that Sanwang was not as naughty and energetic as before. A child who used to be noisy all day was now seated silently, which made everyone feel uncomfortable since he was like a different person.
She asked, “Sanwang, Xiaowang is fine, why are you unhappy?”
Sanwang said nothing.
Yanyan said, “He must have been frightened. My second uncle’s brother almost drowned after falling into a well. He still has nightmares every day for half a year after he came back.”
Gaoliang said to the girl in a softer voice, thinking that Sanwang could not hear the conversation,”If you make such a big mistake, you’re going to be driven out of the family even if you were their true son, let alone one being picked up. Sanwang was adopted, so Auntie is definitely going to send him away.”
Maisui didn’t hear clearly and asked, “What did you say?”
Gaoliang had an expression that practically said, you know.
Caihua looked at the Maisui and said with a smile, “My younger brother was also exchanged for pancakes. If he isn’t obedient, my parents will kick him out of the house like Shou Du Er.”
Yanyan couldn’t bear it, “Stop talking, Teacher Lin wouldn’t do it.”
Maisui’s face suddenly changed with anger when she understood. She pushed Gaoliang, “What are you talking about? Are you looking for a beating?” She was as old as Gaoliang, but she was well-raised by Lin Lan and had enough nutrition to be tall. Since she was about a few centimetres taller, Gaoliang was rather easily pushed.
Gaoliang said angrily, “Why are you this easily changing sides? I’m not wrong, he was picked up in the first place! Everyone said so— even Grandmother said so!”
Maisui reached out and pinched her mouth, “Is your mouth just itching for a beating? Why are you so evil? Get out of here and don’t come to my house again! Every time you do, I will scratch you once!”
Gaoliang was hit several times by her and was so frightened that she quickly hid.
When Caihua saw that Maisui was angry, she hurriedly said something and pulled Yanyan away quickly.
Gaoliang also ran quickly and when she got to the door, she shouted, “I am right anyways. Didn’t Shou Du Er get kicked out as well?” She was afraid that the Maisui would chase her, so she ran away quickly.
There was a child named Shou Du Er back then who was adopted by relatives. Because their own son was born, Shou Du Er, who was raised until he was 5 or 6 years old, was sent back. As a result, after the child returned home, his parents did not acknowledge him and his siblings all thought that he was an extra waste of space. Ultimately, he lived a harsh life.
Many adults in Shanzui Village used him as an example, saying that their own children were picked up and would be sent back if they disobeyed in order to scare their children. Children took the threat seriously after hearing it often and the older kids often used it as an example to scare other children.
After driving them away, Maisui was still a little annoyed, “You really deserve a beating! Sanwang, don’t listen to their nonsense; they are very mean-mouthed. Wait until our mother comes back, she will find our Second Aunt and give her a good beating!”
