Although he knew that Dawang had made great progress during the summer vacation, he didn’t expect the child to get so good. After all, he only studied the 1st Grade syllabus and yet, he took the exam that was meant for 3rd Graders.

After the Chinese test, Dawang took the mathematics test and his completion speed was faster instead.
When the results came out, it was revealed that he had obtained 95 points.
Several teachers suspected that the questions were too simple, whereas some of them wondered if Dawang had guessed the answers correctly.
They looked at Dawang curiously, but the child still had no expression as he completed each test as if it was nothing serious.
The teachers nodded frequently, “With the amount of patience and effort this child is willing to put in, he is destined for great things in the future.”
After grading, the teacher returned the test papers to Dawang, “Take it back for your mother, alright?”
The exam was on the morning of the Mid-Autumn Festival, which meant that the afternoon was a holiday.
Maisui and Erwang were very concerned, “Eldest Brother, did you pass?”
Dawang glanced at them, “Let’s talk when we get home.”
Sanwang tried to grab Dawang’s test paper, but he wasn’t able to even grab it at all.
The children got home faster than they ever did while Lin Lan was already preparing lunch.
Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival. She went to the Supply and Marketing Cooperative and bought some meat with Han Qingsong’s ticket, as well as moon cakes, apples, glutinous rice sticks and sugar. There were many children in the family and since she often made hawthorn red dates syrup soup, her expenses were considered one of the higher consumption families.
When they came back, Lin Lan was cooking halfway, where one of the dishes being prepared was steamed meatballs. Lin Lan chopped the fat and lean meat, beat an egg before adding an appropriate amount of salt, soy sauce and sugar. Then, she started to stir the mixture in one direction. Lin Lan rolled them into balls with her hands, put them in a tea tray and steamed them in the pot while cooking. In addition, she also fried some vegetable balls. She grated the gourd and carrots, beat eggs and added some flour before proceeding them in oil with chopsticks into golden balls.
Although it consumed quite a bit of oil, it was the Mid-Autumn Festival, so the celebration needed to be a bit more special. Even if one were to eat a scant amount of oil on the norm, today was a day they could be a bit more extravagant.
“Wow, it smells so good!” The children couldn’t wait any longer to rush in. Sanwang held onto Xiaowang to lead the way. The youngest two flanked the sides of the pot, looking inside with their feet on tip-toes.
