Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 811
“Sister, I’ll take it home for you.”
“No need, it’s getting late, you should go back quickly,” Lin Lan took her bag, waved to Liu Chuncai and went southwards.
When she passed the back of the village, she made a special observation. It was indeed not as good as the southern part of the village. Not only was the road here particularly bumpy, but it was also very dirty after a rainfall.
Lin Lan carefully avoided the animal urine. When she passed a certain alley, she heard cries inside. At first, it was a suppressed voice, but suddenly it burst into panicked wails, which scared Lin Lan. Generally speaking, other than a funeral occuring at home, there was no other occasion that could possibly wring out such grief-stricken emotions in a cry.
She stopped.
Sure enough, a woman ran out of that family soon, shouting, “He’s dead, he’s dead, hurry up and report the death! Ask someone to store the body and hold the funeral.”
Upon shouting like this, the neighbours suddenly ran out and went over to that family.
Soon, someone else appeared, holding a shovel or something else in his hand.
Originally, Lin Lan was quite moved, thinking that when someone died, it seemed like the neighbours were very willing to help out. But seeing their faces full of excitement, she was a little puzzled.
What was this about?
There was also someone holding a soup pot in her hand who greeted Lin Lan, “Oh, isn’t this the Propaganda Team Leader Lin? Come quickly, Liu Erhu is dead, you should go and help.”
Lin Lan wondered to herself, Didn’t Liu Erhu have a brother? Why did outsiders need to be so enthusiastic?
The woman smiled inexplicably and didn’t say anything else before she ran away with the things in her hand.
Soon, people were coming in and out of Liu Erhu’s house as there were even noises of quarrels and fights.
“What are you doing? I liked this first.”
“What do you mean you liked it? I’ve fancied it for two months!”
“I’m the child’s Aunt (father’s sister)!”
“I’m the child’s Eldest Auntie (mother’s sister)!”
Lin Lan felt something was wrong, and wondered why someone was taking things from everywhere when there was no one to mourn the death of the deceased.
She wanted to talk to Dong Huaihua and ask her to get Liu Guifa to take a look, but she had just taken two steps forward when a girl suddenly rushed out and cried, “What are you doing? Don’t take it, don’t take it, my family still needs it!”
The girl pulled Sun Aifeng and snatched the two buckets from her hands.
Lin Lan then realised that the girl was Yanyan.
It turns out that her father was Liu Erhu. It seemed that travelling through time only changed the fate of her own family but did not have such a big impact on others. Liu Erhu still died and Yanyan’s mother would definitely remarry. The man she married should be surnamed Chang, so Yanyan later changed her name to Chang Mingyan.
At this time, a woman with a different surname also came to see what was going on. She pointed and said to Lin Lan, “Aiya, gosh, with his death, he ended his whole family line.”
Ended the family line?
